Hi Mickey, how bout a version of the break from "Honey (Open That Door)", there was alot of B-Bender stuff on the record, looking for a good way to play it w/out the bender.........., your Jimmy Olander vids have helped tremendously!!!!!!!!! That Buscarino sounds great and so do all your Mullen PSG's!!!! Thanks........

Recently bought a telecaster after wanting one for 16 years. Can I ask what you use to get that lovely crisp sound and at what numbers would you set your dials i.e Reverb and Treble etc..... Very tidy playing by the way.
Steve, I play a Mesa MKIIB with a 15" EV in it...But any old Fender tube amp will do. The snap comes from the bright switch. How you attack the strings plays a big part as well. I play very aggressively in the second half of this video..
Love that guitar! Swamp ash and quilt maple top? That's what I want but in an emeral green burst with an old-school, 3 saddle, bridge and a minihumbucker in the middle.
Well, thank chrchy...I must be mental. I know its really impossible for anyone to improve upon 50's technology. Truth is, John Buscarino is an American, and is a master luthier. This isn't a foreign guitar. I searched for several years for the perfect telecaster, for me, not for you. And, this is my guitar, not yours. Please direct your under educated negativity somewhere else...
Sweet tone on one of my faves. Saw Ricky and company in the 80's. Flacke was awesome, and (although I like metal, Brent Mason is great. Thanks for the post.
Been pickin for years. Can't play real great, but saw Ricky in a local bar in the early 80's (Cryin My Heart Out Over You ring a bell) Had the full A picker line up with him from his first CD. Ray was awesome. Nice clean licks on your part. Give us some more!
Ray gave me a copy of it years ago. There are a lot of 2 and 3 note bends in it. It sure cant hurt...Do you use a claw technique?..pick and fingers?..Mickey
i play finger style mostly, use my nails to pick when i have to, but i just wanna know if the content of the DVD is worth watching. ive learned from one educational video on country style electric guitar solo, and i really enjoyed it. i hope it comes with a tab booklet.
Hey Mickey great solo!! you wouldn't have tab for that solo you could send me ?

Great job! Love the Buscarino (sp?). You've obviously got some heavy compression on your tone, what kind of compressor do you use? I dig it.
stevem7 3 years ago
Actually, no compression...Mesa tube amp...Maybe some compression in the camera mic....Thanks for posting...Mick

when's the last time you saw Flacke? I know him because my dad started with Ricky back when Ricky started his solo career.
BigBoiJC 4 years ago
Is your Dad by any chance Bobby Hicks?...the great fiddle/banjo player?
Havent seen Ray in about 15 years now...Long time
Singlpilot 3 years ago
no sir...my dad was the bass player personal manager Jesse Chambers. you know Hicks is no longer with Ricky's organization.
BigBoiJC 3 years ago
Oh yeah...he left about the same time Ray did...
Singlpilot 3 years ago
no sir he did not...he was fired about five years ago. you're probably thinking of Lou Reid who left the touring band after Ray did.
