There used to be a pub like that near where I lived. There was always fights in there and live bands and despite the constant arguments/brawls everyone always got on with each other. Was always a good night. Then it was closed down by the council for disturbing the public peace. I miss that place I wish I could find someplace like it that was similar.

theres no true ska. whether or not you think a band should be true to a genre or not is a stupid discussion. you say rbf arent real ska and that the stuff done in 60s jamaica is, but im sure before the term ska came around it was just known as a form of dance jazz when in true definition its simplified jazz heavily focused on the beat mixed with jamaican cultural music dating back to africa

@Fun2Flie They mean old, original ska. Like the stuff that came out of Jamaica and was popular in England in the 70s - like the Specials. Reel Big Fish is a modernized, punkified version of ska. Ska may be a genre, but within itself there are widely different variations. I personally have a hard time deciding whether to call this band ska or reggae. But I don't have a problem calling them good.
