  • four years man...i'm sorry but i liked this.

  • I thought it was very interesting. I dont think you should say that pple should bug off if they dont find it interesting because that would just earn people's disrespect for you. But I love the history of everyone's culture and I respect them too. Am also happy you got your dream. I will go someday too. have a nice day.

  • Man, you totally deserve getting to visit the Parthenon, I'm very happy for you, hopefully one day I will be able to visit it as well.

  • Hugh, congrats for your sentiment and video

This is a pure case of buying stolen goods

Buying from the Turkish conqueror was no different than buying from Hitler, French artworks, stolen by Nazis in occupied France

Those artifacts were returned to France, no?

I think that the conservative ruling class of Britain embarrasses its nation and especially the British people who are ethical and respect whats right and most importantly, whose majority wants the return of the stolen artworks

  • Hugh, help return the marbles of the British museum then

  • They are spending a lot of money, time and people, because they want to make, with the help of modern technology, what the ancient greeks had done in the past...

I respect them, their country, music, people, history ,etc. OO,and JimmyTheGreek2000 is right! Happy for your dream come true...I was there too:X:X:X LONG LIVE GREECE!

  • Hey Hugh!I know the feeling you had when you enter the Propileea, I know how it feels when you are so close to the thing you had wanted to see.... ,but you know,if the Greek State don't make the things that are necessary for the restauration of this Great and Beautiful Piece of Art of The Ancient World( Greece) it will soon be gone forever!!

  • Hugh, What about the Parthenon marbles in the British Museum, When can we have them back?

  • great video Hugh..feels really good to see that people love to get outside of their "frontiers" and make their dreams true, and also loved how you interacted with this great symbolic monument!!

NA SE KALA FILE MOU(i hope you learned some greek expressions here in athens :D)

many respects and greetings from a Greek friend

  • I have been fascinated with ancient Greek culture since before my teens.

  • aww..i wish i had your passion..

i am so scared that i'll never find it..

i want to feel it so badly

  • it's easy to see that you really care about archeology and i am envious of that. it makes me really regret studying mass communications when i really should have pursued paleontology instead. that is my one life regret, not studying my one true passion. keep living the dream, it gives us all hope!

  • Hugh, what was the music you put on that video? I am curious, Thanks.

  • did you go to vergina ? seen the grave of phillip II ? the father of aleksander the great ?

  • i been there too !

  • How you have a Hughe Ass!

  • I know you made this last year...but this is a very inspirational video for anyone!!! I hope to go spain someday just so I can study Flamenco there!!! HAH the ending was hilarious!

  • Very kool I am actually Greek and born in Athens now I wish i had the chance to see it and be there at the Parthenon. When I get another vacation i am going back to Greece and I am ganna cheack everything out especially the Greek candy

  • so different, so imaginative, so good. Thanks!

  • Congratulations Hugh, I'll make it there someday. Long live the museum people.

  • excelent hugh i feel like i was there!

  • I loved this video!

  • hey hugh, this is a great video. glad to hear that you got to fullfill your dream of going inside... and thanks for the advice on not going on a tour group to c something like that. love the vids, bye

  • that would be awesome, to be able to walk in the footsteps of great philosophers.

  • nice to hear u finally got to do it :)

that was such a sad story :(

  • I just want to say congrats because I love seeing people happy and I can see this made you very happy. I know that this was a wile ago but I am still happy for you. I hope there are more happy events like this one for you in your future.

  • I used to go in all the time as a kid in the early 70s...remember it vividly

  • nice video greece rules

  • hi!i live in athens right now and i assure you each time i visit parthenon i have this feeling that i can't describe.i'm proud that our ancestors managed to build this masterpiece to last until now (imagine from the 5th century B.C. until the 21st!we are now in 2007!) the machinery there by the way is for its preservation but i agree that this image does not suit to parthenon!it makes me sad that it's threatened by air pollution

  • thats so cool!!! YYAAAYYY!!! you're sooo lucky!

  • i'm glad that you get to go in the parthenon, i didn't realized that you can't actually GO in as a tourist....

  • Hugh, I'm jealous.

  • Very cool vid. Could you message me with the soundtrack info? You chose good music for documentary backup. I never knew about the resotoration; there must be mixed feelings about it amongst the Archeological community. I was going to show this to my grade 6 students next year (we study ancient Greece), but the end was kind of whack-o. I think you were being sarcastic, as you were hammered, but...hmm. Anyways, I will probably show the first 8 minutes.

  • Hey Hugh!

Do more of these - it great to share experiences. It's a nice alternative to the usual straight films and commentaries. There is more of a feel to what it would be like to visit.

  • nice man, thats sweet. Lucky!

  • Great video

  • that was a pretty cool vid ..

  • I had no idea that the Parthenon was restricted..it seems unnatural to see all of that machinery in there...a bit disturbing..Where is Mel??

  • This is, a good video except for the last part.

Reminds me of the Ringling Museum in Florida and seeing the B.C. stuff, 300 B.C. to 2000 B.C.

  • What was wrong with the last part?

  • For a video on it,s whole, you cound not ask for a better presentation.

Brilliant and fascinating thats what I think about it.

    Do not doubt yourself.

  • thanks =] i like the way you try and see things in a different way - ur a legend!

    x

  • Interesting, thanks for posting.

  • You're an inspiration Hugh! I just got back last week from Mexico seeing all those Mayan ruins... Greece and Rome are dreams of mine that hopefully someday I'll see! ....But I'll be one of those losers far back in the distance! :*(

  • Did you try licking on the columns just to see what it would taste like?

  • Awesome video matey! I LOVED sharing in one of your life long dreams, cheers for sharing! <3

P.S I also LOVED your "its been a good day" dance, I did a similar one in my "bad impressions" video. Must be an Aussie thing ;) HAHA!

Have an awesome day <3 xoxox

  • You're such a cry baby. I found that really cool :) Thanks for sharing!

  • Kewl!

  • Word

  • Congrats man...I know that feeling to get into something you've been dieing to get into. I'll spare you my story...it's not as interesting as yours.

  • Ohhh MYlo, I always have time for your stories!

  • I wish i was as passionate about something as you are about , that. (goes to wikipedia), yea yeah, built 500 bc. fascinating. the colosseum and amphitheaters have always fascinated me

  • Not 500 bc, its like 440s-430s. LOL. I guess you like it due to gladiators or public executions or what? :-)

  • oh I get it, just because I'm not cultured like you I must be some sort of barbarian! i appreciate it for its acoustical precision. gladiator the movie sucked :p also, wikipedia said it was 500bc. this obviously proves you wrong

  • ok you're right... but I challenge you to a duel

  • I was just curious, not many people like theatres etc. Also wiki never says 500... it says 5th century..LOL I like yoy

  • wait i dont know if i should believe this. you didnt actually go in, was that a hint? hmmm that looked like a greek bar i used to go to called "The Part E NOne". JK

  • Idiot.. LOL. Yes it is real, I wish I was getting drunk right now.. ALAS!

  • you'll never live the marriage proposal down. but i do have a nice Ale for you. tee Hee
