  • 1 2 3 4 5!!!! lol...

  • Thanks so much for posting this long lost treasure of my childhood!

  • Re: the minorities comment, Maurice Dean Wint (Scout) is black, it's just hard to tell partly because of the video quality.

  • million times better than power rangers

  • They need to make a game based on this. It would kick massive ass

  • damm no minorities made it to the future

  • glad u have these vids... I can't sleep so its goin on the ps3 on the flat screen lol.... brings back sooooo many memories of being like 4-5 yrs old

  • wow the future looks alot like the 80's totaly radical....

  • I still have two or three of these figures and the spaceship game that you would shoot at the tv. This brings back memories.

  • It's like Turrican!

  • Thats sad to see the no minorities made it into the future.

  • Ashens sent me here!

  • thumbs up if 2011 is your '80s childhood.

  • I think this show got canned because the CGI was just too expensive for the time. This show was way ahead of its time. Then again, it ties into the same concept as The Terminator.

  • @darth375 It got canned because season 2 was going to be even darker. The video team had to answer to Mattel toy co. and once it got too dark for kids to watch, they couldn't sell toys for it anymore. So Mattel told them "eat shit. no season2".

  • DVD set to be released on December 13th!

  • "Clear the door...and count to five."

    ".....ONETWOTHREEFOURFIVE!!"

  • Captain Power became my first introduction to the world of science fiction back in 1990. It is so cool even today. I love the cinematography.

  • 5.15 ooo my penis sore lol

  • @exomorphe LOL was that what he really said?

  • I loved this show, it took me this long to figure what it was called all i could remember was tank.

  • @TotheAcord: Same! I literally just did an exhaustive google search until I found this!

  • OH HELL YEAH! POWER ON!!!!

  • "Something only the two of us would know--"IT'S A TRAP!

  • I miss those days of TV. 2 minutes in and its already better than EVERYTHING on network TV today!

  • at 29 seconds! awesome way to die. Digitized!!!

  • OFFICAL DVD set is coming out !!!!!!

  • @cartoonfan959 GTFOH.. the interactive guns are gonna go stellar in cost on ebay..

  • @cartoonfan959 Well, I am still new to Captain Power. I know it was partially released on VHS in the Eighties. I saw it in shops and video rentals a long, long time ago. It would be fantastic if an official set of all the episodes came out. Feel free to send me the info where I can find it, and which company is doing it. Thanks.

  • The toys used to play this had two round parts on them. A sensor to detect two frequencies of light flashes and the other a strobe to "shoot" at other toys. While this video does display the slower strobe effect to register as hits, the faster frequency seems to just appear as a reddish steady patch and will not allow you to score points.

  • yeah all the G.I.JOE battles no one dies...

all of them managed to scape their vehicles and evade those lasers ..

captain power is really a solid series to watch even up til now the story line and the plot is still good ...

  • Sure is left audio in here.

  • first reaction to first scene: SPY!

  • SUCK IT HALO! HERE ARE THE 1ST SPARTANS LOL

  • 7 am every saturday morning... damn those were good times

  • Ah man, I can't believe I remember this one. This, MASK and Dinosaucers were shows I watched obsessively.

Captain Video is what you would get if Tron, Star Wars and the A-Team had a baby.

  • I swear to God people thought i was making this show up, none of my friends remembered it. Thanks for proving my sanity

  • This was one of the first shows to use CGI right?

I had(and rebought) the white jet, black jet and throne. It always made me mad that the show was on at 6am on a Sunday though. I couldn't use any of that stuff with the TV being right by my parents bedroom :(

Oh well, it's cheesey but alot of this show was way ahead of it's time.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't alot of this staff also work on Wheeled Warriors & Beast Wars?

  • So, with the captain power toy guns that interacted with the TV set, were those orange spots on the robots the targets that you shoot at?

  • @aaaaaaaaooooooo ya thats right I remember now ...but it didn't work very well lol

  • The cast must've felt silly acting on this show, but I appreciate that they made for fond memories of my childhood. Well, and the toys were cool.

  • I dont mind them digitizing me....i will just return as TRON and finish them off anyways...or perhaps i can find myself a digimon inside their system..lolz

  • My favorite show as a child!

  • I like this cartoon. I believe it has racial connotations in that two intelligent life forms are battling for their survival. Similar to the Race problem, i see the bio-dreads as a race problem who seek to assimilate all human life. Tangentially, I see Captain Power and his crew as the last vestige of European extrication in a battle against the assimilation. Aptly named, Bio dreads present the biological threat of miscegenation between man and machine.

  • @cromforever77 that, or they were just Bio-dreads

  • The super villain is Darth Vader meets the borg.

  • Show so far ahead of its time

  • This looks like what's positively the CHEESIEST show I've ever seen... which in my head translates to AWESOME. But seriously, they got nice sets and nice props, and the story ain't half bad either. Looks like a good show, even if I haven

    t seen it before.

  • @DocRavage It was a hell of a lot better than most the power ranger knock offs of the 90's..Beetle Borgs, yuk

  • atomicbunnygirl THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!!!

  • @NickDemoReel man this show was awsome, soo funny how they say too serious, i used to watch terminator when i was 8, loved this show. gets ya thinking all them shows back then got a little flack, remember beast wars they had to change name to besties cause wars sounded to violent lol. and the Batman and Robin cartoon was pretty brutal but the artwork was amazing. i miss them days, tv is such garbage now. more channels all have ass programs id rather go back to 30 channels with quality stuff.

  • This show was so ahead of its time, what a beauty, I remember watching this with me old buds and then playing it at recess and shit lol, quality entertainment!!!!!

  • they should remake this show and put it bac on tv

  • it this show tokusatsu?

  • it this show tokusatsu?

did they had a japanese version of it?

  • I used to watch this show on Sundays. It was a great Sci-Fi show and the computer

graphics in some scenes were awesome.

  • i fucken loved this show. i used to sit there with my jet in front of the screen duckin and dogging those flashing red lights. it was the funest thing i ever played or watched.

  • @NickDemoReel

on top of the interactive aspect this was on of the most brilliant shows EVER. One reason was the compressed storytelling. Each episode told stories in a half hour that was reserved for full hour shows! The result: Rapid fire narratives where EVRY second was packed with meaningful action and developements. I don't think there was ever a serious live-action sci-fi done in this format. A gorgeous show all around.

  • ahh, so nothing happened if the viewer "missed" the bad guy targets (the big red marks on their chests)

instead, the marks would flash whether or not you hit em

not bad for the 80s. I remember my dad renting this for us

  • @NickDemoReel Yea, I remember I hated that so much. That's why when I saw GI Joe the movie, I was like...holy crap ! lol

  • the evil dude is a pretty serious rip off of the sith lord from star wars, lord sidious or whatever. he even does the whole 'something something something destiny'

  • @ryanazarko Except this came out like years before any of the newer Star Wars movies, so they would be the ones ripping this off (To this day I hold that Lord Dredd and the alien queen played by Angelica Houston in "Captain Eo" were the inspiration for the Borg.

  • @EmperorofCartoons Borg, is from Star Trek right?

  • @NickDemoReel this was my favorite show as a kid.. i cant believe i remember it considering i was born in 85, and this show only aired from 87-88. I was looking for this thinking it was a 90s show.

  • Hehehe I love'd this show.

Well... I alaways liked the bad people in every show, but nor in this one.

I mean, damn...... this was one of the best shows in my childhood.

I LOVE IT THE SAME TODAY!!!!!!!!

    Thank you atomicbunnygirl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how did this show fail ? i remember this being the coolest show it was kinda mature when i was 7-8 the toys were cool too what a shame this could be a cool series to try with current technology. but it wasn't big enough in the 80's it's not like it's transformers or g.i.joe.i think this show woulda been cooler.stupid marketing. too bad.

  • You are my favorite, I knew I could depend on youtube and some person of ultimate greatness 2 put this up, 80's bb's rejoice in the ultimate power of you tube...lmao....just tea plz.

  • CAPTAIN POOWWWEERRRRR

  • @NickDemoReel GI JOE fans bitch about the camp in the DiC series when clearly SUNBOW was every bit as far fetched; but neither matched MARVEL comics. And this thing with violence being hard on children, well, sooner or later they're going to have to face reality, and what better time than childhood.

  • I was a real fan of this series. I liked the interactive part but the shows stood on their own, and they weren't as silly, predictable, or in many cases , more brain-dead than a really BAD episode of power rangers. And the main reason was because it was written by the creator of the later Babylon 5 TV series. But It was considered to be "Too Advanced" for kids... by the SAME people who approved of Trollkins, Bratz, and gilligans planet.

  • DIGITIZE!

    THE DEATH OF ANALOG!

  • Damn, atomicbunnygirl, thanks for posting this!

been searching for this series for years!

seen it as a child in german TV around '89 and always had bad dreams of that fuckin metal bird! sounded a lot crappier in german and instead of YES MY LORD it said JA MEIN GEBIETER! ^^

THANK YOU for this sweet memory!

  • Soaron was d sht!! I had the action figure 2. I always wanted the Tank Ellis action figure though

  • @Ilikethebeardnursy LOL I had it. When you get shot a certain amount of time, the guy popped out of the spaceship. It came with a VCR tape. This made my day.

  • hahahah i had these toys we really played them at my bday party

  • I haven't watched this show since the first weeks it aired, but the music (especially at 2:50) and look-and -feel of the power station set, and of the character Scout, have been permanently burned into my brain. i guess it felt really cinematic to me at the time. And perhaps Scout reminded me of Boba Fett. I can't remember ANYTHING else from this show.

  • @NickDemoReel Wait. This show was for kids? I thought it was just a 80's sci-fi action show that appeared.

I mean, it makes sense, with the toys and the "Training Episodes", but even Terminator 2 and Aliens had toys/action figures appealing to kids, and those were rated R movies...

  • You know, this show gets yanked and Power Rangers goes on to become "legendary"- what is wrong with the world?

  • Some of these special effects are actually pretty impressive.

  • Ich hab die Effekte schöner in Erinnerung hehe

  • Haha!! Oh man, this show takes me back!! *0's t.v. was so sweet!!! Good post.

  • Hey, you forgot my other favorites from the 1980's like Photon, LazerTag, and the

    Centurions.

  • I was soooooooooooooooafraid to be digitized I couldn't sleep.

  • Yeah, between this and Terminator I definitely lost some of my childhood years that should've been spent in sleep yet instead were spent in fears of futuristic mechanical assassins out to get me.

    But it sure owned!

  • @elcomepanties So Digimon would probably scare you off pretty bad eh?

    LOL!

I used to watch every episode of this, 'til the end when I was younger & I used to have a crush on Captain Power & Tank.

  • @elcomepanties Yeah for some reason, as a kid, that scared the crap out of me too.

  • lmao, dude I still have my phantom striker

  • aw man...mine is gone LOL you should dust it off and see if it still works :-)

  • Very nice model work, something you don't see much of any more.

  • Really :-D ?!?! lol I had to download the entire series few years back just to have the fun of watching it again.

i really liked it. it is in the level of BABYLON 5 in my eyes, and for some reason didn't go beyond the mere PROMO of a second season :-)

did u ever see EZ STREETS also? a series with the actress that plays DEVON from E2. also a rare beauty

  • ok first off people this ran for two seasons! i have every ep on tape... or wood if they would still work ( got sound and fuzz lol) i just want to say thanks for posting this as i now now my ships still work after all these years even on a comp. thanks.

as for before its time definatly and i think i would be a big hit if the redid it nowdays.

  • Finally I've found them!!! Captain Power!!!!

  • Wow, been looking for these episodes for ages. Only problem I couldnt remember the name of the show. Only the special effects and the power suited characters.

Can't believe this show was for children. The cheesy props aside, the subject matter seems pretty bleak and rivals any Terminator storyline.

  • Visit my channel for all 22 episodes of Captain Power and please subscribe for all that Cap'n retro Goodness.. ;)

I'll be uploading them a few at a time and it's up to episode 14 as I write this.. ( Not a single channel on the Tube has all episodes,.. what seemed weird to me. so I decided to just upload them myself.. enjoy! )

  • I like how the black guy just pulled a sam fisher on the robot( I was gonna say solid snake, that would've sounded weird)

  • 2:27 I like that when he changes back to his original form his gun disappears lol.

Also, if he needs help getting out, then why did he change back to his original form? And why did he go in in the first place?

Why am I even thinking about this?????

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!

  • Lord Dread sounds remarkably like Palpatine from Star wars.

  • Star Trek folks even said they got the idea for the Borg design from Dread.

This show's writing was good, I think it was before it's time, hence the single season. They outta bring it back.

  • ive been looking for this for a week already!

  • Of course, Spartans can destroy anything. But,dude, this show was made in the 80s, waaayyy before anyone even thought about creating Master Chief.

  • hell yeah brother! 80 rock!

  • Heh...yeah, then one would get digitized and then Sauron, then Overmind, then Lord Dread would know everything about them...Spartans may be badasses, but not necessarily agaisnt BioDreads... :)

  • I've heard that this show was considered "facsist". Maybe in order to fight totalitarism one must act in a so-called facsist way.

  • J'ADORE!

  • wen did this show debut?

  • 87' in canada.

  • Spies sappin mah Bio-Dreads

  • Does anyone knows were can I buy the complete series in dvd?

  • Loved this show. Specially the guy of the air combat. Great.

  • that's curious, lord dredd looks like darth vader and sounds like the emperor. what a coincidence!

  • I kind of think he looks like a Borg minus the zombie-like look. That or he is a modification of what happened to Dr. Arkavil from Transformers

  • omg..captain power

    old time...yaay

  • Volcania looks beautiful! They did an excellent job on this show!

  • with all the new tech, i'll love to watch a movie out this serie...

  • How sad is it this looks better then all the B projects today, even with CGI?

  • I was born in 1986 and never seen this until now. It's really well punt together.. Is there a movie? There should be one.

  • I've got chills.

  • Man this was my shit i had the jets and all that shit

  • my favorite scifi serial when I was kid ...

  • why the heck i can hear woices ony in my left speaker?

  • ya Tank was my favorite of them all I might just go on ebay and buy the ships and video's

  • guy you all are right I 2 am an 80 fan everthing 80's early 90's is there any way we can request that this stuff can be reborn just like transformers or maybe go to comiccon by the way I had dred ship and powers power deck

  • ............almost like a Power Rangers prototype in a way.

  • I had the space ship for this show. I'd try pointing it at the tv and shooting to see it if would "shoot back" (not really) but I beilieve the glowing parts on the bad guys on the show were supposed to register with the sensors on the toys kids had at home. Cool nonethless.

  • How were you supposed to be able to play a video game with a VHS tape???? I never understood this.

  • Lt Tank is my fav!!!! Too bad i lose its figurine :(

  • wasn't this a Canadian show? I wonder if the right people in Tv land would resurrect this show and make it something bigger especiallyu with the technology of today it would awesome even more so then when it originally aired in the 80's. Long Live Captain Power

  • This did come on in the USA, but I'm sure it appeared in other nations aswell.

  • Yeah it did. We watched it here in Finland in the mid and late 80's. It was broadcasted by cable and satellite by the SKY network. This series was my favourite as a kid.

  • It was a rather unique kid's show, especially for that time, I liked it!

  • Sauron used to scare the shit out of me.

  • Sauron was like... Starscream's kid brother.

Him and Hawk were my favorites.

  • eh, one last little comment- gary goddard's masters of the universe was great too! i know all the words to it <_<

  • and call me crazy, but this could air now and still be competitive!!!

  • That it could!! This would blow many of the crap of today out of the BOX!!!

  • i have the white jet, lord dread, and sauron (spelling?) still! loved this show. absolutely loved it. pity nobody knows what i'm talking about when i praise it : /

  • what I wouldn't give to have this on Blu Ray... Ahhh... pure 80's sci fi goodness...

  • Man....i'm 25 & i remember the toys for this. I look at the "transformer" stuff now & it makes me want to puke because thats what i came up with, cpt. power & starcom & stuff like that was b4 me but still that was good tv.

  • Thank you so much for uploading Captain Power episodes. Nolstagia rocks but not realizing how fxckin old I am now.

  • agree dude... totaly agree... i watch this now and its looks like that was yesterday... time is running out :(

  • I had Captain Power and some vehicle, but not the cool Phaser jet thingy.

  • man, I didn't know I was that old until i remembered this thing was out back in the 80's.

    I love those days

  • wasn't there a cartoon that resembled this show? looks familiar.

  • Well, there were "training tapes" for the show that were animated by the same people who did the original Bubblegum Crisis series, apparently.

Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

  • i had this on BETAMAX son!

  • I loved this show as a kid!

  • Thx for the upload ,i miss my childhood :D

  • this show started out as an interactive video game

  • Oh dear lord JESUS!! this brings back the memories ...total kewlness

  • BEST TV SHOW EVER!!!

  • something like this would do well today battlestar galatica style.

  • Man, this show was a *phenomenon* in my household. We each had our own ship (parents included) which we customized with sticker scraps from the decal sheets (mine has a gold stripe on the nose, for instance. Yes I still have it)and we had battles all over the house. It was fabulous. There was a running competition to beat each others' score in the trench run during the ending credits.

  • The robots are awesome for their era!

Does anybody knows how they could make such 3D grafics in time time that 286-386 ruled the market?

  • I'll wager they were down on Silicon Graphics (SGI) UNIX minicomputers, that being beyond the capability of PCs at the time.

  • awesome show

i played so many gunfights with my brothers because of this show =)

  • yeah..it bring back many memories from the childhood..

    thumbs up for the uploader

  • This sure brings back a lot of memories from my childhood.

  • lifedreamer..u should thanx youtube and the dude that upload this...

  • what i loved about this show, was the production values, pyro technics and the fact that people were killed here. There were scenes that were strait out of the terminator, with the resistance fighting the bad guys., and early use of cg. good lighting for its low budget, and the writing was by Michel J stratzkinski of Babylon 5 , and Eastwood's the "Changeling, and The Z war zombie film (coming in 09). I owned the toys, there were cool.

  • omg this is so much more advanced than even dome of today's shows xD the costumes, the sets, the drama, i love it. fuck you, power rangers

  • holy shit, for almost 20 years i've wrecked my brain, trying to rediscover that show. didn't even know its' name, i only had lsd-like flashback sequences of those cgi robots xD I never knew until now wether this was real or some kind of dream.

  • Lol, know the feeling!

  • the should remake captain power

  • memories... :)

  • atomicbunnygirl..thx for posting this!!! u rock!

  • where can i get my hands on this on dvd? thanks for putting this on btw!!

  • Did anyone have the Captain Power sleeping bag like I did?

  • To be honest...I think I DID. Can't remember...*laughs*

  • hey, thanks for uploading this,i remember the series,i was watching this in my childhood...great!

  • Thanks! I`ve been looking for this for ages! Could`n remember the name of the series! :D

    Thanks!!
