No. Avada Kedavra is supposed to be an unblockable curse. Meaning, Shield Charm, flicking the wand, would not work against it. Lily Potter died to save Harry, rendering an ancient magical protection on him. That is what reflected the Killing Curse upon Voldemort, destroying his body during his first rise to power. @MPieter88 All ( or most ) of the spells from Harry Potter are latin. This is one of the few spells that aren't exactly Latin. Avada Kedavra comes from the Greek(A language born from Latin, like a branch of Latin) word anapneo which means "to draw breath or to revive.
