Does anyone else notice half of the last couple comments were a back and forth about government spending. Men talk about cars, driving cars, and fucking in cars. I had an SRT caliber and it pulled pretty hard after a few mods, never ridden in a 6.1L..but I picked up an 87 GN and love it even more. Needs a little work but this run was good. Just has to get that boost up at the start, that's what they were meant to do unless he couldn't hook.

@aldo1999 Won't last?? That's just crazy. I had 4 of them and they were dead reliable. They had little problems like rubber tubes getting oiled and disintegrating, but that was an easy fix. The screw covers on the door pulls would pop off, but that was easy too. Even my 650hp car never broke. These were phenomenal engines; cheap, powerful, reliable, easy to wrench on and easily modded to INSANE daily driver levels. My GRANDMA could have driven the 650hp one long as she kept her foot out of it..

@dddjjf my best is a 13.0 at 108 mph but there are some that can run into a 12.8-12.9 with the right track conditions. A 13.0 for a daily driver with 4 doors is pretty good. Most critics fail to realize that there arent any power adders (supercharger or turbo) to get that time. Also, my SRT8 has been down the track 100's of times without any issues. The only thing replaced on my car are the brakes and tires and trust me, it is not babied.

Not bad for a car with 30% smaller engine and still gets 24+mpg on the highway. Still... the viper is a very exotic car and gets far more attention. Depends what you want.

I have spoke with someone who was there and knows quite a bit about these. He is telling me that it is a GNX. Besides the emblems, cosmetic touches, it also has a different rear end, etc. He named off a bunch of details. This car also runs there every week and it can run even quicker but I believe he dials down the boost but who knows. Well modified or not, it is still damn quick for a 6 cyl.

yeah i think it's just a normal gn....props to your run........not to burst ur bubble or anything, but a gn running a 12.1 doesnt necessarily make it "well modified"......all it takes for those cars to get into 12's is an upgraded fuel pump, stiffer valve springs, bigger injectors, and a chip

Right you are. If you put alcohol injection or run higher octane fuel and have an adjustable wastegate you are already in the 11s. I've ran an 11.92 minus the stiffer valve springs. If I could hold more boost at the line, I should be running an 11.6. 60' times are horrible 1.93 is my best I think.

@sinusbradycardia I got a 10.8 run (@135) with bolt-ons. We figured we got 650hp out of it though never dyno'd. Just an amazing motor. Bigger turbo, air/water intercooler, bigger injectors and fuel pump, 7th injector just to make sure. Bigger down pipe, headers, cat by-pass, adjustable chip, and street tires!! Big, sticky Yoko's, but they were street legal. Some other stuff too that I forget now. But no roll cage! So they threw us out after that first run 'cuz we broke into the 10's. Darn...
