  • This piece of music is just a fantastic example of good music!

There are elements of hard rock and metal, evidence of jazz and funk, and it all featured (originally) the synth.

More bands and people need to learn how to write music this awesome!

  • YAAA YA YA YAAA YAA!

  • Wow, that drummer is a complete fuckin' asshole. He should focus on grooving instead of trying to impress everyone.

  • the guitarists name is doug rapport

  • Tone Monster! Whats his name?

  • Cool Solo break, not bad for a Lab Rat, and his brother.

I love the freak, so cool to turn a couple very white brothers, producing some of the most unique and talented music from that age, my age too.......

    Too Cool.......>:)

BTW I had the chance to see Edgar Winters on Day on the Green, in the late 70's, Venue was the Oakland Col, Bay area, S.F. Cali. Damn near fried the P.A. system with the lows

    greydog0417@yahoo.com

  • @shadowfax0417 Lab rat, thats too funny, I remember buying that 45 for under a buck back in 1973, I was 12.

  • ¿ I s that the original guitarrista?

  • WOWZERS!!! :)

  • Holy f*ck - he's still got it, I could easily listen to 8 hrs straight of this.

One talented motherf*cker... no spring chicken anymore iether.

  • and where can i find the rest of the song?!? the best part is cut out!!

  • anyone know who is playing guitar here?

if you took me wrong. June Wilson sing Pat Benater

  • hhhh

  • Hello!Your video is cool! I like it! Please look at my video & approve it!!!

  • Amazing

  • SICK ASS GUITAR SOLO!

  • Edgar Winter is what i call a MUSICIAN!

  • They have a "brotha" as you sed nacnuddude because Edgar Winter is albino.

  • I did not expect his voice to sound like a garbage disposal. I guess that is why they do so many instrumentals.

  • ...........this band goes through the whole spectrum.

    the guitarist is superb.

  • i don't want to sound racist... but of course they got a brotha playing the bass. beast of a player.

  • I'm pretty sure the guitarist is Doug Rappaport.. he teaches at MI, fantastic fuckin player!

  • He's got 2 bolts in that keyboard for his strap like Frankensteins neck bolts. Ha! I got to see him free on Freemont street in Vegas back in 1997. Check out his and Johnny's clips from Sweden 1970.

  • where's the second part??

  • i DID SOUND FOR A LOCAL BAR HAD A SUCKY GARADGE BAND THAT SUCKED FOR 45 MIN THEN BUSTED LOOSE FRANKENSTEIN LIKE IT WAS SUPOSED TO BE PLAYED WITH SUCH POLISH MY JAW WAS DROPPED

  • The guitarist is good.. but I don't like his tone. That's what every other guitar tone sounds like today. I'm not downing him for conformity though, I still just don't like the tone.

  • @Tengent The tone he has was first, then all you hear today came afterwards, so it is not this guitarist who conformed but the ones who sound like that today. Can you spell innovators? can you spell real history? Lol

  • Edgar Winter's keyboard skills are amazing.

  • I love this! I am going to see Edgar in concert tonight and I can't wait!

  • I don't think any live rendition of this song is the same as the previous. One of the greatest pieces written in any form or style of music.

  • 2:08, impromptu tai-chi session. oh hell yes

  • Great song and sounds superb ,but cut the song short..are ya' crazy? I'm still sitting stupid from it getting cut off. Depressed now.

  • The guitarist is Doug Rappoport. Quality musician. I'll bet there's a tube screamer pedal behind those Marshalls....but I've been wrong before...lol.

  • Where is part 2??

  • Mission Impossible Theme @ 2:00

  • There goes 9:52 of my life i will never ever ever get back. I didn't even get to hear the spaceship part damnit!!

  • Saw these guys (different drummer) last weekend...Amazing.

  • they dont have synthesizers they way they used to I mean listen to this one and then listen to the original one it has too much of a synthetic sound to it

  • Still sounds incredible after 35 years. These are real musicians. Will the bands playing now be able to get on stage in 30+ years and sound this good? hell no, they don't even sound this good now. These may not be the original musicians with Edgar, but he can find the best now and they will play with him because he is superb. I saw him live in West Palm Beach 3 years ago and was blown away. Still remember that live performance as the best one I've ever seen. Took me by surprise.

  • Fucking awesome!! Need to hear the rest!!

  • ...I was in a band that did a version of Frankenstein in the 80's... it's more than a LITTLE depressing to think of the pared down version WE did while listening to the master perform this INCREDIBLE version with his superstar band... I have to say, tho, one of the most ENJOYABLE and REWARDING songs I ever performed live...

  • I was 16 Yr s old joining up in 2 Para.

Strange a song brings back were you were.

    Good band

  • I have the strap he has for his keyboard

  • ...Winter stands head-and-shoulders above both his bro Johnny and the sidemen of this band.

Yes-I know Johnny isn't in this band.

Too bad time was wasted on (yet another) guitar solo when Winters keyboard, sax, percussion, vocal, writing and performance skills carry the band and the show...

  • This is good. Edgar is where he needs to be. However, if we saw him elsewhere it could be trouble. For example, if we ran into Edgar in the bathroom line at our fav club........I'm just sayin....

  • i'm surprised he's using digital instead of analog. edgar winter doesn't seem to be the kind of guy to switch over to digital

  • Sick just plain sick

  • What is the rhyme at the beginning?????

  • What is the rhyme he says at the beginning? I just saw him tonight with Ringo- I wanted to walk around like Frankenstein!

  • what does he say before he starts playing the song?

  • is the guitar player phil x?

  • i agree..the guitar tone is great. nice crunch to it.

  • @myg0tBUTTPLUG The tone is super killer. This dude is like the best guitarist I ever saw or heard. His licks are really clean and tastefull and then the tone to top it all. Who is this guitarist????

  • @guitarjam2050 Thats not a guitar you are hearing, its a Synthesizer!

  • The tone on the guitar.....I want that!

  • @HueyRocks23 Hmm...tube screamer pedal?

  • @HueyRocks23 That's Doug Rappoport on guitar, and the guy rocks so damned hard it ain't funny!

  • @HueyRocks23 yeah its dead on!

  • so crunchy...

  • best frankenstien ive heard

  • wow that guitarist is so good

  • @jaredpistoia hope that was sarcasm

  • Spectacular...not awesome, Spectacular performance!!!!1

  • the guitar solo in this is just like killer dude... doug rappoport is an amazing guitar player

  • i was there and the show as GREAT!!!!!!

  • BAM!!! :) HOMERUN!

  • YEEAA this is awesome

  • Where's the rest of this?? It's SMOKIN'!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Winter goes Fusion... cool.

  • FuKin Gnar.. Badass keyboard and then he runs over and interprative dances :)

  • Extraordinary!!!!! Superb!!!

  • what does he say at the beginning?

  • 4:48 is REDONK!!!!!

  • god... amazing.

  • why cant i play guitar like thattttttttttt holy shitttttttttt

  • @Iliketoheadbanggg he plays over 5 hours a day...you..do not:)

  • Can anyone tell me what he says in the beginning?

  • @jonwharrington blah blah blah witter... here comes teh doctor name frankenstien

  • at 2:39 that dude reminded me so much of the bassist in this christian band where i live, except hes taller and weighs like 500 lbs, but in essence he moves the same way

  • WOW, this guy is truly an animal. Amazing!

  • this song + Show/Pep Band = BEAST MODE

  • Doug Rappoport is such an incredible guitarist!

  • incredible!

  • Un*******believable.

  • After all these years, he's still a bad ass.

  • He's Edgar Winter, why expect anything less?

  • Yep, more than badass, a god.

  • This is an amazing instrumental. Edgar Winter is one of my favourite when it comes to that kind of music. Frankenstein is a perfect Halloween Song :D

  • Edgar Winter is Amazing, i went to the ringo all star band concert at the PNC bank arts center this year and this song was the highlight of the show for me
