Cool Solo break, not bad for a Lab Rat, and his brother.
I love the freak, so cool to turn a couple very white brothers, producing some of the most unique and talented music from that age, my age too.......
Too Cool.......>:)
BTW I had the chance to see Edgar Winters on Day on the Green, in the late 70's, Venue was the Oakland Col, Bay area, S.F. Cali. Damn near fried the P.A. system with the lows
He's got 2 bolts in that keyboard for his strap like Frankensteins neck bolts. Ha! I got to see him free on Freemont street in Vegas back in 1997. Check out his and Johnny's clips from Sweden 1970.
i DID SOUND FOR A LOCAL BAR HAD A SUCKY GARADGE BAND THAT SUCKED FOR 45 MIN THEN BUSTED LOOSE FRANKENSTEIN LIKE IT WAS SUPOSED TO BE PLAYED WITH SUCH POLISH MY JAW WAS DROPPED
The guitarist is good.. but I don't like his tone. That's what every other guitar tone sounds like today. I'm not downing him for conformity though, I still just don't like the tone.
@Tengent The tone he has was first, then all you hear today came afterwards, so it is not this guitarist who conformed but the ones who sound like that today. Can you spell innovators? can you spell real history? Lol
they dont have synthesizers they way they used to I mean listen to this one and then listen to the original one it has too much of a synthetic sound to it
Still sounds incredible after 35 years. These are real musicians. Will the bands playing now be able to get on stage in 30+ years and sound this good? hell no, they don't even sound this good now. These may not be the original musicians with Edgar, but he can find the best now and they will play with him because he is superb. I saw him live in West Palm Beach 3 years ago and was blown away. Still remember that live performance as the best one I've ever seen. Took me by surprise.
...I was in a band that did a version of Frankenstein in the 80's... it's more than a LITTLE depressing to think of the pared down version WE did while listening to the master perform this INCREDIBLE version with his superstar band... I have to say, tho, one of the most ENJOYABLE and REWARDING songs I ever performed live...
...Winter stands head-and-shoulders above both his bro Johnny and the sidemen of this band.
Yes-I know Johnny isn't in this band.
Too bad time was wasted on (yet another) guitar solo when Winters keyboard, sax, percussion, vocal, writing and performance skills carry the band and the show...
This is good. Edgar is where he needs to be. However, if we saw him elsewhere it could be trouble. For example, if we ran into Edgar in the bathroom line at our fav club........I'm just sayin....
@myg0tBUTTPLUG The tone is super killer. This dude is like the best guitarist I ever saw or heard. His licks are really clean and tastefull and then the tone to top it all. Who is this guitarist????
He says- In a labratory once upon a time-at work was a doctor named Frankenstein. That is fron the1984 12 inch remix three song ep. Rock on Edgar!!! Peace hardtackrock
at 2:39 that dude reminded me so much of the bassist in this christian band where i live, except hes taller and weighs like 500 lbs, but in essence he moves the same way
Edgar Winter is Amazing, i went to the ringo all star band concert at the PNC bank arts center this year and this song was the highlight of the show for me
This piece of music is just a fantastic example of good music!
There are elements of hard rock and metal, evidence of jazz and funk, and it all featured (originally) the synth.
More bands and people need to learn how to write music this awesome!

They have a "brotha" as you sed nacnuddude because Edgar Winter is albino.

I did not expect his voice to sound like a garbage disposal. I guess that is why they do so many instrumentals.
