doesnt seem like you did much.you just added stock parts...come on man,add a kick ass spoiler, new air intake, better rims, better tires, new one of a kind paint job,atleast...you have to pimp it out more
The spoiler is something Im really looking into as well later as a cold air intake. I would like to keep the rims and paint stock I have liked a mildly stock look. And rims I don't want to replace wheel bearings all the time espically if I get bigger wheels lol.
My older brother drives a 2007 Mazda 6 with a 5spd manual trans. i know it has a 4 clyinder in it,i assume its a 2.3, but not sure. he told me it like a Ford Fusion in disguise. Do the Fusions come with a 5spd?
Do the Fusions come with a 5spd? yea, my neighbor has a Mazda Tribute. The keyless remote looks the same as my moms For her Ford Escape, and the engine, starter and fuel pump sound the same like my moms escape too!..lol The Escape and Tribute r basically the same.
Yes they do have the 5 spd mines the 4spd automatic though. I have seen that s well they look and sound very similar as well as mazada's b series trucks and fords ranger mazda has some great vehicles.
hey thats fine we all learn some ways still haven't kept my lead foot out of it at best I have gotten 27mpg overall I love that four cylinder it seems to have more get up and go than our 3.1 buick.
i have the 5 speed stick on mine, and i drive like a grampa- average 29-30 mpg. 2nd gear is like a dog even when i floor it though. Overall for just a 4 banger it does do pretty good. its faster then my 3.8 V6 in the thunderbird.
Funny you mention that I was thinking the same thing when I filmed this so I was looking around to make sure people weren't around when I was filming.
That is a decent looking car you have there Richard. It is a good down to earth car anybody would be proud to drive and pull up to anywhere in it. Enjoy it and take care of it, and it will take care of you just fine. Good for you.
Thanks howie its no hotrod but it works for practically. I dont feel rich in this car but for what I did to it it feels good driving it everyday plus now I enjoy it more than ever seeing the looks on peoples faces when I pass them and they are dumbfounded.
You do not have to feel rich Richard, only thing needed is a sense of accomplishment. No price can be put on that feeling. People like seeing things that pop out at them, and this car does it.
Hey, nice car. But you wrote that one reason why you bought this car is because you wanted to keep your money in the United States.. Did you know your Ford Fusion (and all others) are built in Hermosillo, Mexico? While the Honda Accord is built in Marysville, Ohio?
Yeah I knew that but I am not just contributing to that factory but the corporate business as well where as most of hondas money is sent back to their corporate offices in japan so basically the ford company gets more money in the us than honda does. Thanks for your imput
I like you car. hey dude i went to Mexico in April and drove my 07 ford fusion down there.i could not believe how popular that car is in Mexico i saw more ford fusions in Mexico than ford fusion here in the u.s. And those car weren't American owned they where Mexican owned. I thought i was going to be the only one with a fusion in Mexico. I am still hoping that they improve the interior look I like it but its needs improvement.
where i work at one of my co workers just bought one and so did my supervisor so i guess they like it too. i am pissed that im no longer the only one with a fusion but i probably should take it like a compliment that they like my car so much that they got one.
And the money Ford received from you when you purchased your Fusion is used to build more factories outside the United States. At least Honda employs American Citizens..
Depends on where you look at it both ford and honda employ foreign workers. The only real thing honda makes here in the us is the family/economy cars everthing else is in japan. Where as ford makes all american F- series pickups in the us as well as commerical fleet vehicles.
Yeah the transmission is built in France I believe and the Motor in Mexico. We haul them on the trains into Houston. I think I remember reading that on the window at the facility where they unload them.
you know what i found interesting with my fusion. before i had it I owned a Volvo 240 T5. nice car, and FAST too. i kept having problems with it though so i got rid of it. anyway, as you know Ford owns volvo, and one of the first things i noticed with the fusion 4 cyl is it has the same starter motor as my volvo's 5 cyl did.
Looks sharp, man. I just made a video for my '08 Taurus (Which I still need to post) using Frank Sinatra's "Ain't She Sweet". I think that song would definitely fit your car as well! I can see it now, how it would work so well in a video showing off your Fusion.
hey nice video. do you know how much horsepower it's rated at? my ranger has a 2.3 and i don't think it has more then 90 horses. it's also a lot slower and doesnt sound as good lol.
Hey kevin my fusion is rated at 160 hp 10-15 more than a camry I was looking at. 80 hp is what I was pushing in the old 1987 2.3 liter motor boy was that slugish. I can understand a truck being more sluggish because they aren't meant for specific road gears like cars are set for. I love the sound alot of people claim this motor is too noisy but I love it. Thanks for you imput kevin. Hey if you get a chance check out my carb video I put a small segment of that hubcab as well as a carb. Enjoy!
hey richard. 160 is a lot out of a 4 banger. i would rather have a fusion over a camary or accord any day. better looks, more power, not boring and it's american. the 2.3 is an excellent motor. been around since 1974. my 2.3 and yours are a little bit different however. mine has truck heads. different valve cover. and it looks nothing like yours. same motor though. just a lot slower lol. mine is loud, it just doesnt sound as good as yours.
Yeah very true kevin I'd try to keep my money in the states if I can I just really despise imports anymore. You are right that 2.3 you cant beat them and I can see in a truck you would have to have more heavy duty heads rods pistons and bearings so they last long and can do work. Can you believe that fusion has stock exaust but to me sounds like a rally car. Thanks, Richard
yeah it did sound excellent. i had to get a new catylithic converter on my ranger because it had a crack in it, so that made it quiter. but it's still pretty loud with original muffler. i would like to make it sound better but i dont want to make it sound like a ricer lol. any suggestions on exhaust work? also, what kind of mpg's do you rack up with the fusion? i get 26 combined city and highway. not bad for a truck
I am about where you are I get 27 mpgs combined which isn't too bad in this day in age. as for exaust Id probably start looking into magnaflow or flowmaster for exhaust two american companies that could probably help you out there tech support is awsome because they know what products are best suited for you car/truck espically if you told them about not wanting a ricer exaust im sure they could find one just right for you.

My Mercury Milan with the v6 gets 32mpg on the highway with the cruise on at 68mph.
Personally I don't want the visors and stuff on my car as I think they don't look that great but to each his own. =)

Your brothers right the motor and trans setups are the same in these two cars even ford was saying that its a mazda designed engine and gearbox.
