@Colgax That depends on the mood trying to be set for the battle. It's going to be tense and dramatic if the designers want the scene to be that way, and more often than not final bosses are exactly that. Although I do understand what you mean and I like having a more...upbeat tune in a battle; possibly setting a more heroic tone. Again, it varies.

@SolidSp33d I like how a lot of the more recent Sonic games (not Sonic Generations, oddly enough) have done it... the first part of the music played during the final boss is that sort of dramatic and tense mood music, but then when you're close to beating it, the music changes over to an orchestral version of the game's main theme which sounds badass and epic as all hell.

Nah, they are both good. Both have there own quirks. Personally, though, I like the ORIGINAL JP soundtrack for Sonic CD, but the remixes I've heard for the USA version are just as good in terms of quality. Plus, The USA has a much scarier final boss theme.

For Stardust Speedway, Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata sampled Kurtis Blow's song "AJ Scratch" for the "HIT IT!", and the "TURN IT UP!" is from "Fantastic Freaks at the Dixie" by DJ Grand Wizard Theodore and the Fantastic Five.

Wave Master acts as SEGA's sound division, so their talents overlap, explaining repeat sampling
