  • @satured This is why it is worth being such a megastar!

  • @satured

I wouldn't mind to be the 'technician' of those effects :D

  • phénoménal

  • ultra geant

  • At 30.18 when he is telling us about Bruno Does he say fu#k off? it certainly sounds like it.

But I really enjoyed him playing the Theremin instrument in this concert particularly infact I would say this is the best I have ever heard him play that instrument, absolutely amazing, it just felt so good listening to that.

  • @heythanksbutnothanks I think he says: "Buzz off!"

  • @Kraftwerkification Yes you are probably right :)

  • I really liked this concert, but there sounded like a lot of mistakes when he played the laser harp, I wonder if those were on purpose, also I always thought he wasn't playing that and it was just for show, but the fact he makes a lot of mistakes on the laser harp suggest he really does play that, for years I thought it was just a gimiick.

  • ultra géant ces du rêve

  • ultra géant ces du reve

  • Absolute BRILLIANT concert... stunning from the beginning till the end!

Merci, merci Jean Michel Jarre !!!

  • c"est genial

  • C'était vraiment excellent

    Merci pour l'intégral

  • mas grande que el dia del señor

  • Only 25k views? I expected it to be 25 million!

  • Did they mess up a bit after 1:27:30? Some of the melodies sound dissonant and off beat.

  • @adamcrookedsmile One of the many problems of the laser harp. It registering the notes correctly and in-time is not 100% reliable and quite fragile to weather conditions (air moisture, etc.). But the cool thing you see in this video especially with these errors: it IS working and live, and not fake ;)...

  • @Lofote Let me explain, please, I built one!

It does register notes correctly and is not fragile to weather conditions. What happens is you need haze to see the beams. Outside, you can see the haze is being generated but just dissipates into the atmosphere. In his concerts, the whole venue is full of haze - this is for the laser harp and laser projectors!

The wrong notes are because he can hardly see the beams! Other mistakes are where the ambient light is setting off the sensor.

  • @cjmitz Thanks a lot, very interesting information but it seems to have other problems at Rendez-Vous 2 here. You clearly see at 1:27:07, that he is hitting the correct lasers, still no sound at all. Only few seconds later at 1:27:14 when he starts the notes, there is the highest note being played but he is not even near the beam for that note. So I would rather guess it did register wrong notes, but what could be the reason if not weather?

  • @Lofote As I was explaining, the reflection off of his hands sets off a sensor below. The camera flashes, ambient light, fireworks etc. means the sensor was probably set to be very insensitive (which is why it didn't work a few times), but even then - there was enough ambient light to set it off when he wasn't playing it.

  • @cjmitz Ok cool thanks for the explanation :). You said you built own ones? Just for you as experiment or professional?

  • @Lofote For fun, I really wanted one and enjoy electronics (and being 17, can't really do it professionally yet)! :) It took about a month. I am working on a second version over the next month which has more features, can be a full colour laser harp and also fixes some potential issues (it should be more stable then this harp JMJ is playing on)! Then I might sell them so people can have their own, I know a lot of people want one!

  • @Lofote the fireworks etc. set it off too. You can see the second time they sorted the haze problem so the beams could be seen a bit better

  • My god the solo at 1h 18mins and further gives me goosebumps :-D

And what about the 'playback', of course there are some sounds recorded but most of this is live, take a better look @CaptainMoxy

  • I love the part around 5 minutes where it says: 'No comment. Live'. Hahaha!

  • what is the song at 1:38:15 ?

  • @TheTmoorhouse I think you mean the second part of Cronologie 2. But in the description bar, I've writen down the tracklist, so you'll be able to find each song played here.

  • thanks for this upload!!!!!

  • thanks for this upload!!!!!

  • amazing artitst al the best Jean;thx for video:D

  • awesomeness

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • Big thanks to the uploader!

  • Yes, it's magic !!!!! :-)

  • nice ; )

  • I have great respect for JMJ and I listen to his music relatively often, but what's this with playback and not actually playing live?

The moment when he starts playing the main lead for Oxygen part 2 it becomes obvious he's not really playing. Because if he had really been playing he wouldn't be jumping but concentrating on what key he's playing at the moment.

Concerts should be played live JMJ, not on playback.Even if you don't get every note right you can improvise and it can still be good

  • Superbe concert

  • Magnifique concert!

  • i watch this on sky and it was fantastic and thank you putting this on here his music is great
