  • since there's no techno, there's been techo-color!

  • Um épico de Miklos Rozsa, usado em sequencias de vários filmes outros. Inesquecível !!!

  • Some musics, written by the gods, just long to be heard by the men below. And one among them one day brings those songs down from the skies for his fellow mortals to hear.

  • One of my favourite movies. Hopefully it will get a UK DVD realease (and makeover) as "Quo Vadis?" has. Incidentally, the castle set, which stood on the backlot at MGM British studios at Borehamwood could be seen from the main road and I have heard caused some confusion to passers-by!

  • This 1951 version of Ivanhoe was said to have one of the finest scripts for screenplay. It has no wasted lines, all dialogues were relevant to the storyline with chosen words appropriate for the time. Excellence. BTW i wonder if Ivanhoe had second thoughts about Rowena after seeing Liz in all her beauty and splendor.

  • I did not regret downloading this movie. The music is amazing and the star studded cast of actors is a real treat. The diction of the Taylors, Fontaine and Sanders alone was sweet music to my ears. I would have loved to have seen this on the silver screen. That being said, if it's interpretation faithful to historical accuracy and larger-than-life characters that you're after, the 1997 version will blow you away.

  • @Silkspine The diction of Elizabeth Taylor is horrendous especially in the trial scene. AND the Hollywood film version is not true to Scott's book!

  • I also like Miklos Rozsa's epic scores. When chances pass my way I always buy his scores and some movies in DVD.

  • I want to see the complete movie whit subtitles in Italian if is possibile

  • Elizabeth Taylor: never more stunning or lovely as the Jewess, Rebecca

  • Though a bit old, but still astonishing

  • great movie!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this movie !!! The final combat is spectacular together with the arrival of the King Richard.

  • @LaSombraFantasma I agree about the combat....realistic as well....but I always considered the EL CID scene known as the Battle of Callahorra to be a more exciting version of medevial combat ...Miklos wrote the score for that movie too

  • @SONOFHERO52 the two movies are great master pieces. The Cid is fantastic too, I like Calahorra combat, but the final is really spectacular when Spanish win over the enemy with the Cid "fighting" like a inmortal warrior.

    greetings

  • This is a fantastic piece of music

that makes my heart sing where is my armor and my shield

Where is my war horse to foot the field

And bear my ladies colors into the Frey

That It might face the light of day

    With courage and with truth

    all virtue all wisdom forsooth

  • Good art doesn't gets older. I live in Brazil.

  • Absolutely stunning! One of Rozsa's best.

  • This is a really great theme by Miklos Rozsa. However I have never been a fan of his violin concerto. The Korngold Violin Concerto is much better.

  • Liz Taylor (L) (L) (L)
