@Lugikill No such thing, total myth, maybe if the down stem is heaps low in water it ads drag, but you can still have heaps of water and it makes little difference if your bong is the right shape and size, a beaker is a perfect example.

yeah the diffuser creates more surface area for the smoke to come in contact with the water, cooling it further which allows you to take a bigger hit.

yeah the diffuser creates more surface area for the smoke to come in contact with the water, cooling it further which allows you to take a bigger hit.

the smoke basically goes through the holes and touches more water and cools it down better so the chamber fills faster too.

you won't notice it a huge amount but you will definitely be taking in more smoke. if you really want more cooling, i suggest you try a precooler or some ice because then you will notice it. also maybe try diffuser marbles.

what are diffuser marbles?

You can use them just like a diffuser to see what a diffuser would be like. just have your regular downstem in your bong and put a bunch of marbles in the chamber to go up about an inch above the bottom of the downstem and it works like a diffuser. look up diffuser marbles and you should see what i'm talking about.
