Just one thing... Don't forget to transfert the 4 screws from the original hard drive to the new one. You'll notice that they fit in the alluminum cover when it's back in place. It's a small detail not to forget.
I'm interested in doing it, but concerned about the problem noted below, from one year ago. Has anyone had the same "harddrive always on" problem (with WD or any other drive)?
Hello:
I upgrade my time capsule with the same wd caviar green, but 1,5 Tb.
I only have a problem: the old seagate turn on when access and turn off after a few minutes.
WD is always run (never stop, or sleep, or idle).
No I didn't see any warranty seal and I've done the apple tv as well no seals on that i think the only thing would be make sure the rubber is bcd on properly
If you ever required any warranty work, could you just stick the original drive back in? From what I can see there is no warranty seal etc on the unit...
would have said it would void the warranty and i formatted it mac os extended before i installed it and as soon as set the wifi up it came up straight away

Do you have the same problem?

Hi, do you think that'd work with a 2TB HD as well.
I read in some forum that there'd be a size limitation.
Thx.

@sammy7002 Do you have to format the HD first prior to installation with a Journaled OSX partition

Im assuming doing this voids the warranty?
Does the Time Capsule automatically recognise the new drive and format it etc? Or is this something you need to do yourself?
