The 1935 version is actually closer to Red Harvest (though plot lines for both Glass Key and Red Harvest have alot of similarities) -The Alan Ladd version (1942 )is closer in plot to The Glass Key novel. So to be fair we are both correct. (BTW- Miller's Crossing from Coen Bros also uses plot lines from both these novels also).

"The Glass Key" was a filmed version of "Red Harvest?" Odd, but it seems to follow the story of a Hammett novel entitled "The Glass Key."
