The eating the heart reference is referring to Gaga's fear of the heart, aka her Dad's heart problem. Nick Knight had her eat it to face her fear of it, and conquer it. She discusses this in the SHOWstudio interview. And the tattoo is a heart that says DAD in it.
@wave438 Thank you soo much for clearing that up for me! I watched the whole SHOWstudio interview and I have to say it is my absolute favorite interview! Also now that you mention it, I remember her saying that.. and her saying that is was a REAL heart. I was pretty sure the Tattoo said Dad but my mom thought it said Gaga haha.
