  • Pretty good. Check out Al Hirt's rendition of this one.

  • Da müssen die Finger schnell sein Respekt

    (Applaus, Applaus)

  • no le llega a al hirt le falta mucha fuerza

  • How can people dislike this???

  • 666

  • @SlovenskyRaj @JinnyMic There are 2 basic constructs of Brass Instruments, Conical and Tubular. Trumpets, Trombones and French Horns are Tubular. Flugelhorns, Tubas, Euphoniums, Mellophones, Tenor Horns etc... are Conical. If Leonhard's horn were a flugelhorn of some form, it would have a MUCH less pronounced flare towards the end. It is in essence a Valve Trombone. And for the record, there is an instrument known as a "Flugabone" (a trombone range flugelhorn), but this isn't one.

  • @SlovenskyRaj

    Google Gansch Horn.

  • What is the note he played at 1:41? And where can I get the music for this?

  • @ImaMuddaFukka that's a D on a C instrument (piano flute guitar etc.) or an E on the trumpet. E6 i believe.

  • @ImaMuddaFukka Al Hirt's the Green Hornet and that note is a high D I think.

[Don't feel like looking at the music now :P]

  • The instrument he plays in one of their performances of Bohemian Rhapsody is clearly a rotary valve, but is it a Flügelhorn? I think it's range is too low for that. View Mnozil's Bohemian Rhapsody Uploaded by stahlmannen on Jan 3, 2007

  • @SlovenskyRaj It's called a bass trumpet, basically a baritone but not haha, look it up!

  • superb a fost foarte fain

  • @SlovenskyRaj and @TonyBtones, its Leonhard Paul's custom Bass Trumpet. It sits somewhere between a Trumpet and a Trombone (more similar to a Tenor Horn).

  • @Aeromedic False. Its a rotary flugelhorn

  • @Aeromedic: Aeromedic may be correct on the technicality that Flügelhorns by definition are in the soprano range and this instrument clearly and easily plays within the tenor and even baritone range (view Mnozil Bohemian Rhapsody video).

  • @Aeromedic SCHANKE DöN!

  • @Aeromedic It's a bass trumpet, you are correct! For everyone else, go read the wiki! It says it right by his name haha

  • Zoltan isnt using a kissbone!

  • Geeeniiiaaal

  • @SlovenskyRaj and @TonyBtones It's called Ganschhorn... It was especially

developed especially for and with Thomas Gansch (the guy on the left side)

  • What is THAT INSTRUMENT? A huge Fluegolhorn or a modified French Horn? It's not a Mellophone or even a Marching Horn.

  • @SlovenskyRaj Assuming you mean the tall guys instrument, it might be a baritone solo horn (bell front marching style baritone). Mouthpiece looks like it's the right size, though the bore seems small...

  • @SlovenskyRaj Huge Bronze Rotary Valved Flugelhorn

  • @JinnyMic The particular instrument he chose to use for this performance is a piston vavle. Rotary valves are played horizontally, and rotary valves do not stand higher than the leadpipe. After performing several searches on Fluegelhorns, and enlarging stills of the instrument he uses in THIS performance (he uses rotaries in some other recordings), it seems clear that he may be using an oddly wide-bore/wide bell Fluegelhorn.

  • @domromutube lol your really a morron 1: its part of the show and is called HUMOR!! 2: you wouldnt be as good as him even IF you practised for a lifetime....idiot

  • How could you possibly dislike these guys????

  • Who is that d*ck playing the trumpet?? Way to into himself.. GROSS!

  • @domromutube *rises eyebrow* before you talk, try playing that.

  • @domromutube I'm pretty sure if you could play like that you would feel pretty good about yourself. Am I wrong?

  • @domromutube And this is why you are sitting on the internet watching YouTube videos rather than PERFORMING. It's called showmanship and it's why people pay money to see them play..

  • @ac7491 oh. well that makes sense cause it sounded so much like it.

  • the guy on the tuba is so fricking good.

  • @coolmesser I know... he is AMAZING. To be honest, I'm more impressed with him than the others. <3

  • Check out Al Hirt's version...Loved that big guy!

    Larry

  • they probably flipped a coin to see who have to play this.

  • @calcner actually, I think its because he's a badass. Roman apparently when he joined Mnozil got the sheet music 1 day before his first concert with them. Didn't miss a note.

  • @calcner they probably flipped a coin to see who got to play it lol

  • @calcner bet everyone of them could play this :D

  • @calcner coins have 2 sides, dumbass. theres 3 trumpet players....they take shifts in who gets the solo song.

  • @calcner the tuba guy should have had that part!

  • @calcner you mean, "who GETS to"....

  • @calcner They probably played russian roulette to se who was the biggest badass and then the winner got to play it!

  • @9494thor long live the king

  • lol i remember when i played the tuba when i was 14. hated it, especially when i had to carry it around. felt like i was carrying a fucking car without tires.

  • @Gabester64 tubas arnt even heavy dude, and you only carry around a sousaphone... unless im just strong...(just sayin)

  • WHAT MOUTHPIECE IS USED FOR THIS SONG ON TRUMPET

  • @bubblez17x probably a negative 18 c. Yep, the mouthpiece is so shallow that the inside of the cup actually protrudes from the rim.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • WOW

  • All of their instruments are made by Schagerl. There's the Gansch-horn, which is a rotary trumpet, but in a piston orientation; the Bass Trumpet; the Trombones, and the "Kronos" Tuba

  • Regarding the middle range brass horn played by Leonhard Paul - if you go to the mnozilbrass (dot) at website and look at the gallery section under "Neue Horner" - it is not the only unusual horn the group has found - some might be custom, others are very old and have been restored. My guess is that the horn is pitched in F (or possibly Eb) like a Mellophone but it is impossible to tell from the pictures.

  • @domitype My guess is it's some kind of bass flugelhorn, which would mean it's in Eb. But I'm not that sure.

  • @domitype greez from austrian and a person who knows these lads: leonhard paul is playing a bass trumpet, austrian style, built by schagerl in Bb, like a baritone ;-)

all instruments are kinda brandnew, not restored, some just don´t have any varnish on them, making them look old after a very short time. also, all instruments were developed by schagerl together with the members of mnozil, and their names are related to mnozil and their programms: ganschhorn after thomas gansch,

the horn you´re talking about is a bass trumpet, austrian style in Bb like a baritone.

all instruments where developed by schagerl and mnozil members and are named after them or their shows. e.g.: ganschhorn after thomas gansch, kissbone after zoltan kiss or troja after one of their shows, "das trojanische boot", kind of a parody on the trojan horse.

the old look of the instruments is because they never got their final layer of varnish.

  • @TheMNUTT1 - I don't know what you think a sousaphone is, but that is most definitely a tuba that he's playing.

Also, I'm digging that rotary valve trumpet that one of the players is using.

  • @TheMNUTT1 That's a tuba.

  • I don't recognize the song, but it ISN'T "Flight Of The Bumblebee" (aka Green Hornet)

  • Dang That Guy Can BLOW!

    ahaha.

  • A tuba, two trombones, two flumpets, a bass trumpet, and looks like some kind of older mellophone.

  • @havepie Which one do you think is a mello? The only one that even resembles a mello is the instrument held by the one in pink/red and that is not a mello. It is some sort of low brass instrument probably a bass trumpet(which you also have listed). I'm aware that there are many types of mellophones(I'm a mello player myself) but nobody on that stage is holding one. I would say it's 1 trumpet, 1 rotary trumpet, 1 trumpet like instrument(not sure what it is) 2 trombones, 1 tuba, and a bass trumpet

  • @Deathwish42 Oh yes, definitely a mellophone, the older models had that type of design, the older kind ones had that similar to a concert french horn, its taken awhile for it to become what it is now, but yes, the rotary trumpet I do believe is a bass trumpet, and the trumpet like instrument you mention, which is what the main guy plays too, is a flumpet, a mix between a trumpet and a flugelhorn.

  • @havepie I know exactly what type of mello you are referring to and that is not one. It is shaped wrong(one can be seen here /watch?v=6vavr_QNFiE) and the mouthpiece is the size of a trombone mouthpiece which is much too large for any type of mellophone(can be seen at 2:09). The rotary trumpet is not a bass trumpet. For that to be true that means it is pitched an octave lower than standard trumpet and that is certainly not the case as it is much too small.

  • @havepie Previous post was too long. (bass trumpet can be seen here /watch?v=2jGoP1NLqOg&feature=channel). On top of the size being wrong the mouthpiece is most certainly a high brass mouthpiece.(can be seen at 17 seconds.)

  • The Guys are Cool.

They would have looked better in the Yellow jumps suites!!!Ha

  • Forest Griffin?!

  • I loved the tempo and loudness. The flight of the bumblebee can be heard but I think it's part of some jazzy arrangement made about 30 years ago (just as good, IMO) called something "boogie". Would anyone here know what I'm talkjng about??

Zamunda Zorchalate, 39, from San Francisco Bay Area, California

  • @Zorchalate it's the theme from the 60s show The Green Hornet, which is based on 'Flight of the Bumblebee' as that was used for the theme for the radio show that preceded it... the same theme later was used in Kill Bill

  • @Zorchalate Could you mean "Bumble Boogie" by B Bumble and the Stingers?

  • Brownspec, sorry, but you cant help me with a link, or the file?:) I dont found this sheet music.

  • AmazingQQ, very good

  • I like the playing of the trumpet not featured in the song. he has a very searing tone that sounds alot like wayne bergeron i think. the soloist of course was good too but i still like the other guy

  • This makes me proud to play the trumpet. Hopefully i can get half as good as these guys!

  • Im looking for the score of this song. Someone cant help me?

  • @Smicaxx check out erikveldkamp has some stuff on there, same as al hirt version

  • braucht man nix schreiben!unglaulich....

  • @commanderful warum tust du's dann? lol

  • just wow *_*

  • @sjoek11v yes it is a mellophone

  • @kev24612 nope, it's a Bass Trumpet. Made by Schagerl.

  • whats the technique what the trumpetter is doing

  • @sjoek11v it's called being awesome haha

  • The right man who play on the trombone is Hungarian :) Im hugarian too. But the trumpeter is the best.(In this song.)The full Mnozil Brass is great.

  • i can play 0:38 that only part i can play on the trumpet lol

  • incredible!!!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • MNOZIL BRASS IS THE BEST <3

    GREAT

  • they are really great !!

  • What instrument is the guy in red playing?

  • @PTCruiser42 A flugle made specifically for him

  • @1hentho isnt it a mellowphone?

  • @PTCruiser42 It's a Schagerl Bass Trumpet, not a flugel or a mellophone.

  • all of theyr instruments are schaegerl...best ones for orchestral playing..

  • were those schagerl trombones?

  • oh my gosh...the sound...the fucking great sound...al teh instruments sounds so...oh my gawd...it is ...so...WAAAHH!H!

  • @TheBaritonDudes calm down, dude, everything will be allright, all you have to do is breathe, just a slow and deep breath....ommmmmmmmmmmm

    lol

  • @dschonsie oh my gaw---holy shit.. does someone have a paper bag?!

  • hey where did they get the music because i would like to try and play it on the trumpet if you can i would like thanks.
