The whole problem with health care is not "who is going to pay for it?" The real problem is we continue to demand expensive drugs and therapies that don't work and just make people sicker.
Backbones, yes we need to grow some in the next few years. I live by a motto that has stiffened my backbone and has gotten me through my "battles" I've faced:
When you speak and act as if you've already lost everything-
when you've accepted the fact that you are already dead-
you commit to fight with everything you have without fear knowing that your opposition has nothing to take from you--
it is then that you find that you can perform miracles to see YOUR outcome prevail!
unions served their purpose and now are fleas, parasites on the worker and business. I dont think that any strike in the last 20 years ever accomplished what they intended and the only ones who lost were the "protected" workers. explain that man whose afraid to show his face on a video that so far has only had 70 vies
looks like the fry's strike threats worked out. Arizona citizens supported the unions actions and now its all good, now to keep pushing for higher and higher wages everywhere.
Or the union got scared due to the members quiting the union and threatening to file a NLRB complaint. Probably never know for sure, but as I know several workers at Fry's and most of them had threatened to quit the union if it striked, and their own website said that to be patient as they were being inundated with calls and faxes, seems that it could be either.
while we can only hope for a living wage for everyone , i don't think we will see union action like this for sometime ...the fry's and safeway workers were angry and desperate from almost a decade of ultra low wages , they were a crediable threat and a united work group . So in short this was a unique situation ... and an exciting one at that , but sadly , we must resume our downward spiral as a nation after this one breif pause ...
HEY DUDE!! THE UNION LEADERSHIP CAN'T FORCE THE WORKERS TO DO ANYTHING!! THE WORKERS VOTE FOR THE STRIKE.
