  • game without music on a c64? sucks!

  • Hey... It's System Shock on a C64. Kind of.

  • The first survival horror game? I could not never beat this game as a kid. The concept of running around and triggering switches was far different than the other games at that time.

  • i remember discovering the ground floor in this and thought the cryo chambers were amazing....it scared the crap out of me, remember the back of the box and the grey sleeved floopies with EA on them...

  • OMG, I LOVED this game back then..

    Thanks for posting this!

  • This could well be the plot for the upcoming 'Prometheus' film, the Alien spin-off/prequel thing.

  • LoL the text is so damn long.

  • 4:44, does that say "BURGER" on the wall? ;p

  • i lol'd at "faxed you a copy of the layout" when the setting is in the year 2061

  • @WaffleRofl

Haven't you seen Back to the Future 2? In four years fax machines will be HUGE and it'll stay that way into the foreseeable future.

  • i have a question... if the commander can set self destruct by remote control, why does jon have to go to the bridge to set self destruct?

  • @shinchan123450 They wanted a copy of the logs and research so they know what went wrong, so the mistake wouldn't be repeated.

  • So THAT is the way to pick up chicks! All I need now is a mutant infested orbital station :D

I loved this game back then. Used to scare the s*** out of me. First survival horror game :D I will not replay it though, we have got Dead Space now. :P

  • maaaan, i used to have dreams about this game. dope sh*t, way ahead of its time. Thanks for posting!

  • I loved the fact that you could wander through the ship outside of what the game wanted you to do. All sorts of interesting places to visit.

  • I always loved playing this game! o.o I couldn't seem to get a good ending tho >.>

  • LOVED THIS GAME!!!!

  • bei tempi..il primo vero survival horror...

  • Is it just me or Commander is chewing bubble gum when he talks? Anyway this game's awesome!

  • one of my fave games ever. the gameplay is superb, the story scary and it wasn easy as 90% the games of today

  • The guy looks like he's written 'Saget' on the wall.

  • It must have been Tourettes Guy's great grandson.

  • i absolutely loved this game as a kid. it was indeed pretty scary back then. also the graphics were awesome for its day

  • uh im very scared when i see theese points fighting =)

  • Very cool game. Finished it on the C64 already. One of the best games ever. I also wish they would do a modern remake. But they should keep id 2d or the spirit of the game is lost.

  • Actually, some guy did make a remake - in 3d. I tried it only briefly a while ago, it seemed rough around the edges a bit. May be worth a try.

  • Easier said then done as Vivendi most likely owns the rights to this game as it was done by Dynamax who were bought by Sierra in the 90's and let's be honset Vivendi are idots so I doubt that the would bother with a remake, if they do it would be god awful

  • Four minute long intro o.O

This was some seriously impressive graphics for the C64. I neevr played it, but read the walkthrough in the magazines.

  • None of the games you mention had the scariest silence i had ever experienced on any videogame.

  • Awsome game. Maybe the best ever to C64.

  • this game was absolutely an inspiration for games such as Doom, System Shock and Half-life. Hope they'll remake it some day

  • This game used to scare the heck out of me...
