  • my very first final fantasy game (except mystic quest) the memories!!!!!

  • FFVIII happens to be my favourite game, I don't understand why people hate it so much.

  • @seany018 THey hate it because it wasn't ff7. It wouldn't have mattered what they did it would have been considered a letdown.

  • @BBoyPhreshershist that and people think the characters are all emo and what not.

  • @dooploop1 really? Only squall was Emo. all the rest really weren't. Zell= annoying tough dumb but good hearted. Selphie=spunky one, Quistis= Hot teacher, Rinoa=One you have to save all the time but has the strongest magic rating, Irvine=Cool but secretly insecure guy, Seifer=Asshole, Laguna= Squalls dad and polar opposite emotionally, Kiros= Gay guy, Ward=Fat strong dude.

  • @BBoyPhreshershist yea i know right? like the rest of the characters having different traits, i feel like squall's trait was serious not emo. makes it so everybody is different.

  • @dooploop1 and even still it gets explained why Squall is the way he is and he changes. I don't think its ever explained why cloud is Emo. but neither one is better than the other imo

  • @dooploop1 scratch that it is explained. Why cloud goes emo.

  • @seany018 that's exactly what I feel

  • @seany018 For me, it was the draw system. Other than that it was one of the best storyline and game overall.

  • @seany018 Draw system is the major drawback. However any player who knows how to play the game in a fun manner uses card mod and triple triad! So if you've never played. Don't draw your magic up until you get to the end of disc 2 and get the Tonberry GF. Just play a hellish amount of triple triad. And enjoy this beautiful game.

  • I know this gonna break a thumbs down record, but imho FFVIII has the best OST among all FF until today

  • @MrSolracvstheWorld I still can't decide between VII and VIII...

  • @MrSolracvstheWorld What a stupid fucking comment. Obviously you weren't considering how you were saying this ON a video of a track from FF8, a game that, might I add, sold over 8,000,000 copies.

Stop using crappy reverse-psychology and earn your top comment, you inbred cunt.

  • i loved the gameplay, music and style of this game so much that i had to forgive it's absurdness. thankfully, IX, X, XII, and XIII have redeemed it somewhat with their great plots.

  • This was my first ff game I've ever played. And while the story is indeed ridiculous, I have a soft spot for this game and it will always be one of my favorite.

  • Remember this.

  • This brings back alot of memories, for some reason i started playing the final fantasy series at VIII so naturally its my favorite.

  • Right totally learning this on guitar! :D

  • Storyline? Who cares! You can fly a frigging building over the ocean! Woohoo!

  • All that's missing is seagulls and the water crashing in on the beach ^^

  • This is a good peace and all.........but it just conflicts with the sci-fi nature of the rest of the soundtrack. But I guess it captures Balamb perfectly. Not the greatest music on the FF VIII sountrack but a fine Uematsu piece, none the less.

  • Best FF for me. And surely the best OST :)

  • @entelin

I would have to agree. For the sole reason of the story being rather bland, this is my least favorite FF game. I also felt like the character development outside of Squall and Rinoa (god I hate them both) was nonexistent. Why couldn't they spend more time on Quistis?

  • I wonder why this reminds me of Chrono Cross...

  • I liked FF8 but unfortunately my CD1 is broken, so I can't play it again.

  • @Baghnal Download an emulator and a the ROM file to play it.

  • @nushadow2008

I've got an emulator, but I want the PAL Version... I only found an NTSC Version and thats split in.... 37 Parts I think

  • @Baghnal That's too bad. You can get it off of ebay like I did for under 20.

  • FF8 is still my favorite game of all FF-games.

I like this song as well, so I started instantly playing it on my ukulele right at the moment I found the lyrics. From the little amount of songs and notes I can play, this truely makes fun.

I think there are some people who didn't like FF8 as a game, but do you think there are as many who don't like its music? Unimaginable to me.

  • Breezy was my favorite track out of the entire game. I would keep the game running at night just outside the inn so I could hear it with the sounds of the sea in the background and gently fall into the best sleep I've had to this day.

  • best thing about that game was the card battle. This song is up there too.

  • Breezy...The name says it all.

    Very releaxing and nice.

  • how many memories would revive this song...

  • this song bring back old memories....

  • My favorite FF! :p

  • I really liked this game. It was new, different and much better then FF7 :)

  • The remix to this song is really amazing too! ^.^ Good pic Supra!

  • Now i have to replay this game thanks to SupraDarky.

  • After Koji Kondo, Nobuo Uematsu must be the best composer with his work in Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross/Trigger

  • @entelin hahahaha ! true at some point but u have to realise u are in a surreal environment of science fiction. It doesnt matter where u end up as long as it has a logical sequence.

  • @entelin

To me, Final Fantasy VII is like the Majora's Mask to Zelda. It's up to you to like it or not, and to me, it's better than the newer ones at least.

  • @entelin The story wasn't that horrible. I think it could have been much better (the character development wasn't great), but the basis was ok. Bunch of high school age kids at a military academy training to be part of a mercenary force stop a time traveling witch who's possessing another witch from possessing another witch by fighting the country she's taken over along with a slew of extraterrestrial monsters brought to the planet from the moon while all the while having flashbacks. No sweat.

  • @Tomosies

lol i liked ur "in a nutshell" story there, pretty accurate too, if only u coulda added the laguna part in there hmm

  • @entelin lol FF8 was the reason I skipped IX. I was 12 when I played this game and even then I thought the story was a bit corny. The plot was messed up and the characters were ignored...I just had no attachment to this game, but the music was good though I actually hated eyes on me!

  • @entelin: haha. You are lost because of doing side quest too much that you don't even remember the main story. I don't remember exactly either. It seems like it's about time to replay the game again for me :D

  • @entelin I think it would be better if they used anti-war themes, or it may screw it up. I'm sorry, I'm speaking from my own interests...

  • @entelin

lol it did have an interesting story, this game took a few tries for me to rly love it, but now ill always love this game!

  • @entelin yeah the story sucked, but who cares. Everything else was awsome and it has the best final dungeon of all times.

  • @entelin I think it had potential, until the end of CD 2. Then things started taking a turn for the worst, and then it just looked like they rushed the ending. I think it was supposed to be more than that. maybe they run out of money, or ideas, I dunno.

  • @entelin And then at the end you notice the entire game is a time loop. That's pretty rad, if you ask me. Time loops are rad.

  • @entelin i think FF8 had the best storyline of all :s

  • Good old days...;) Such a nice theme

  • i never liked this game. but cool music

what was this game about again, a moon, a witch? I didn't understand

    I hate Squall.

    xD

  • Nobou Uematsu....thank you

    iie toi yo kun

  • About time this got added, not that I have any problem with your taste, SupraDarky.

I have this song on my iPod - it is strikingly similar to Another Guldove from Chrono Cross. Last summer I listened to this song while sitting on my porch during a thunderstorm, it such a mesmerizing experience, such a beautiful song.....

  • @ManfredMitchum

I noticed the same thing, it is really similar to that chrono cross song :p

  • One of the first songs I learned on guitar.

  • Every one of Nobuo's songs should be on this list.

  • i'm glad i can play this song on guitar :D

  • This was a very good song. Final Fantasy VIII had a wealth of great music. It's a shame that, at least for me, the story and gameplay seemed to fizzle after disc 1.

  • Ahhh....Back in the day....

  • I remember when i first heard this song i completely stopped playing just to hear the music, put the controller down, and laid down on the bed till i fell asleep. :)ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    I love breezy

  • The best song in ff viii, is the man with the machine gun (laguna's song).

  • This song is a classic. Final Fantasy VIII was a great and worthy Final Fantasy title.

  • Great memories.

  • Mmmmm omg breezy so peaceful! i always thought the guy sitting on that bench looks like steve from blues clues lol

  • Never played the game... yet the song seems to radiate nostalgia.

  • It's as calming as a cool Summer's breeze.

  • @Sephiko exacly

  • Now we have a Breezy and a Windy song.

  • oh wow.

this is one of my earliest memories of being amazed by ingame music, when i first bought this game some... ten, twelve years ago. and now i feel old.

  • Ah this was one of the first songs I learned on guitar! Good times. It's really easy to play too :P

  • AwEsOmE

  • Finally you uploaded this song, its one of the best in the game.

  • Great add. It definitely gives the feeling of a peaceful sea side town. The clear blue sea rolling into the bay, the fresh salt air and the hustle and bustle of town. Great stuff.

  • Ah, so relaxing. :)

  • Always a good choice. I love the part at 0:52

  • wow, Im view 5.

I think that is a record for me.

  • lulz

  • This was one of the game's more peaceful and memorable song, I remember being amazed by the town's graphics with the blurry effect on the plants right in front. Now I wouldn't even think about it.

  • @SupraDarky

So true. Technology and improvement nowadays have changed so much and is still changing more that the "normal" and the "great" have increased its standards.

  • @SupraDarky well there was something fascinating about this game... I just loved the character of the game world... after the cartoony FFVII I liked how FFVIII felt more "mature" (or at least mature as a FF can get)

  • @SupraDarky The great things about ff7 and 8 were the way the towns were designed with their depth of perceptions and color schemes. Because of this each town had their own unique depth of field as well as the great architectural imagination

  • @SupraDarky EVEN THOUGH THE GAME IS ASS!

  • @SupraDarky Why does everyone dislike this game? :O

  • @SupraDarky ;_;

  • @SupraDarky This is the song that inspired me to pick up the guitar :)

  • @lionheart1827 yeah! this is the first song i learned when i started to play the guitar

  • @SupraDarky ya. i remember playing this game and being amazed at the graphics. now it seems horrible and very contrived as well, but man, i remember this game. definitely do. it is a good very very good game.
