Im a terran player, and i agree with Husky (at 5:40). Marine marauder overlap a lot. For me it would be interesting to have them fill different rolls.
Marines and Maruaduers dont fill the same roles, marauders are heavy infantry good for sniping bases in large numbers or great support or tanking units for the marines. Maruauders alone would get eaten by air, marines alone would get eaten by anything T2 - roaches/stalks. They both have different but very complimentary roles, which is why they work well together.
When you said "You're favoring Protoss", etc., I figured you would say you miss Protoss Drops and Reaver Drops. I understand, I am a Protoss player and I feel the same! Toss IS centered around getting a ball of Protoss units and attacking at the right time in many games, which is sad.
dude, that match was crazy! ive had only one game come down to that, and i lost... i was protoss and only had a few zealots and a colossus when the enemy was terran... he had a a few marines and a banshee... gg. ANYWAYS, i hope i see some clans and some other zerg air unit that can attack both air and ground besides just mutas... also, this may not happen untill the protoss expansion, but a better anti air unit for the toss... something to take out massive that doesnt charge would be nice
Everyone hates the MMM ball. But TBH I would like to see firebats in MP (bcuz I love firebats) and Valkyries to kill mass mutas because mass rine vs mutas is good but once the rines are out say hello to blings. And Thors cost too much and don't do enough.

The obvious point is marauders don't shoot air, but heres where, in my opinion, players are missing out on the use of marauders. They are great to catch the storms / fungal growths, then bring your marines to snipe HTs/Infestors

I have done a million dollars worth of advertising for the game for the past decade. WE NEED 3 ADDITIONAL RACES. Tell Blizzard to stop making Starcraft into Warcraft III. Arrested development is a top five show of all time! Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Micehal Cera, Jeff Tambur, David Cross. That lineup right there made for some of the funniest situations ever and it was just ahead of its time.
HotS needs to bring back older units for campaign, lurker, defiler, devourer, possibly updrade creep w/ options like cerebrates boost healing/ speed/ range/ etc. I'm sure anyone can figure out balance but I would like to see some old school units come back and kick butt.
Protoss - absolutely agree. of course the big ball will need to be nerfed in some way, cz thats pretty much the crux of beating toss if their ball gets too strong. the toss BW ball wasn't as strong as an sc2 ball

One simple tech switch to Brood Lords and this game would have been so much different. With that many siege tanks and missile turrets, even a handful of Brood Lords would have been able to harass the base between fights.
I want to see a zerg tier 3 air unti that can attack air and ground i hate seeing battlecruisers and carriers owning ultralisks and brood lords all day
Solution to all of starcraft's problems : Remove Stim pack on the marauder effectively separating them from the superfast bio ball. Mechanically, It will work soundly as Marines have lower range and as such will run to the front during stimpack. I take no credit for this though.. SP gave me the idea :)

Remove MOTHERSHIP! Based on the statistics and replays of Husky, how many protoss players actually use a mothership. Totally unpractical during a high tier level game.
Also, invisible mode/private mode for battle.net would be good. If you guys don't know Tasteless was constantly spammed while he was trying to shoutcast MLG. And Losira was spammed while he was trying to play. Frikkin stalkers. -_-
And I would love clan support with tags. I'm sure the pros are annoyed they have to buy a name change to represent their clan/sponsor. WoW thrived on the simple guild system (didn't even change or improved until Cata). It brought a social aspect to the game that kept people playing and bringing their friends in.
I also think that protoss needs a "harass" type of unit like the reaver. Almost everything a protoss can drop is pretty garbage. 8 stimmed marines and a medivac can cause so much damage, but 4 zealots? 2 Immortals? Garbage. Nothing compared to SC1 reavers.
As much as I liked reavers and lurkers. I don't want this to turn into SC1++.

@Elementalos If you have seen enough games, you may have noticed that marines and marauders, while they are a bread and butter combo, occupy the same roles at 90% of the terran army and pretty much make the whole point of the armor type weakness mechanic moot. In addition, any combination of units used to counter them are all vulnerable to them, namely armored units, which are generally used to counter mass amounts of units.
Not being able to go invisible on bnet sucks so much. My gf is one of my bnet friends and it would be nice to be able to relax and play games some nights and not worry that she is going to come on and see me playing.
Make ZvP balanced, new units, the bunker one seems cool but not as usefull :/ and Raptorlings in multiplayer, just because they look awesome, and splitterlings.
totally agree especially at the clan support, and the ideas for the units mad me laugh for some minutes but it would be cool to see each race have a totally unique unit.
Husky. If Blizard doesn't listen to these ideas and put them into good use it's clear that even Jagex (the company that runs runescape) can do better job than Blizard.
one thing i always get annoyed by with the battle.net is that it takes incredibly long time to set up a solo play vs ai, for example when just wanting to check out some new build or just macro practise. atm i always create a multiplayer game to get it set up... doin it in solo-mode, is really just a waste of time, they could just get rid of the whole function unless they fix it. today it just sux. peace from sweden /Junkyardjuju

Good ideas imo. Competitiveness and satisfactioning playstyle is crucial to the games that made blizzard what it is. and i think blizz will deliver some fine tasty stuff. Yet i think Terran will most likely have to stick to the M&M Ball a good while, but i don't approve that. And sadly we won't see good specialized protoss harassing units i think.
A thing that would be the most awesome thing ever would be a game mode that would be callled something like classic. That means you play SC 2 like Broodwar with same units, same stats, no extra, just straight sc broodwar was. Would be best thing ever
I want to see some zerg, terran and dragoon units come back in the campaign, like vultures in WoL. In multiplayer i wish they put in a new, or more, units for each race, that makes the game more fast like starcraft 1 was. A unit that owns the workers, like reavers and templar used to do in starcraft 1,.

Husky, protoss units are dropped all the time in other people's bases. Except that now it's called warped and is based on pilons rather than dropship...
What I want to see in HotS is some old units like the Lurker coming back, as well as new ones being invented. Though the Reaver can stay out, I hate that thing.
I'd like to see the different online regions opened up to each other again (never understood that move), and the seperation of single player from Battle.net.
And I think LAN play needs to be put back in! Essentially fixing all the stupider design choices they made originally.

protoss drops - u still can drop zealots (now much more powerful with charge) and dark templars. Instead of reavers u can do colossi drop, it doesnt kill buildings that fast but goes very well against workers/marines/zerglings. Dunno why nobody does, maybe protoss players are lazy and average death ball is too strong to need to do that?
Everyone hates it. It's counter is an air unit. You make to much of its counter (Viking, Corrupter) you lose because you kill the Colossus but don't have a ground army. You dont have its counter (Viking or Corrupter) you lose because it melts everything in 2 seconds. No real micro required and basically a walking tank in siege mode. destroys the whole game and is one of the reason why gateway units have to suck(other is w.g. which could made 200/200 at twilight council and buff gw units
i think the mothership should get some of the awesome abilities it had in the teaser... it seems fairly weak for something that u can have 1 of and takes 8 supply, just my opinion

What i wanna no is how much is it going to cost, will sc2 be playable online without the expansion, or will it be like bw and sc1 separate. As for the game itself new units would definitely be welcomed. As for a Zerg unit in particular maybe a caster, or another 1or 2nd tier unit that is capable of anti-air and or ground because hydras really arent so dependable they are too slow, and their attack is par. Maybe if drones could morph into faster drones for faster mining/ build time. SOMETHING PLZ
I think marauder, roaches and stalker must be eliminated because main composition, high HP and most importantly similar RANGED unit. stronger and sneaky hydralisk could be melee to ground and spine attack to air. Terran has ability to build wall so they can manipulate the terrain for their advantages. Protoss has faster tech tree to build archon and they can introduce again arbiter and recall ability for protoss mobility, cloaking unit shouldn't have air bending, and HP upgrade for zealot
@WaelelTube Except it's not free. You are paying another $60 for a single campaign and few new units. Eventually, you will end up paying three times as much as people who bought the first starcraft while receiving the same amount of content.
if terran has marine-marauder, zerg has hydralisk-roach...but what does protoss have? zealot-stalker? if thats all then protoss is definately going to lose in that matchup

I know the change is only cosmetic, but I think it would improve the game. I remember in the original starcraft even five or six zerglings looked intimidating in the early stages of the game, now they just feel useless

I agree with your views about the zerg and terran but as a fellow brotoss play I really don't agree with your 'Harassment/defensive unit'
IMO i think that the DT kinda fills that roll
I mean it is constantly cloaked it has no abilities and it deals like 50 DMG I honestly think it fills the defensive/harasment unit
I'd say both zerg and Brotoss need a stationary/tank like unit you can get early on in the game. Kinda like the Siege Tank

Not being able to go invisible on bnet sucks so much. My gf is one of my bnet friends and it would be nice to be able to relax and play games some nights and not worry that she is going to come on and see me playing.

one thing i always get annoyed by with the battle.net is that it takes incredibly long time to set up a solo play vs ai, for example when just wanting to check out some new build or just macro practise. atm i always create a multiplayer game to get it set up... doin it in solo-mode, is really just a waste of time, they could just get rid of the whole function unless they fix it. today it just sux. peace from sweden /Junkyardjuju

Good ideas imo. Competitiveness and satisfactioning playstyle is crucial to the games that made blizzard what it is. and i think blizz will deliver some fine tasty stuff. Yet i think Terran will most likely have to stick to the M&M Ball a good while, but i don't approve that. And sadly we won't see good specialized protoss harassing units i think.

I want to see some zerg, terran and dragoon units come back in the campaign, like vultures in WoL. In multiplayer i wish they put in a new, or more, units for each race, that makes the game more fast like starcraft 1 was. A unit that owns the workers, like reavers and templar used to do in starcraft 1,.

Husky, protoss units are dropped all the time in other people's bases. Except that now it's called warped and is based on pilons rather than dropship...

What I want to see in HotS is some old units like the Lurker coming back, as well as new ones being invented. Though the Reaver can stay out, I hate that thing.
I'd like to see the different online regions opened up to each other again (never understood that move), and the seperation of single player from Battle.net.
And I think LAN play needs to be put back in! Essentially fixing all the stupider design choices they made originally.
Agreed with Husky about the clan and tournament support.

@Abort111 f those units is their similar cost leading to similar damage output.
protoss drops - u still can drop zealots (now much more powerful with charge) and dark templars. Instead of reavers u can do colossi drop, it doesnt kill buildings that fast but goes very well against workers/marines/zerglings. Dunno why nobody does, maybe protoss players are lazy and average death ball is too strong to need to do that?

Colossus
Everyone hates it. It's counter is an air unit. You make to much of its counter (Viking, Corrupter) you lose because you kill the Colossus but don't have a ground army. You dont have its counter (Viking or Corrupter) you lose because it melts everything in 2 seconds. No real micro required and basically a walking tank in siege mode. destroys the whole game and is one of the reason why gateway units have to suck(other is w.g. which could made 200/200 at twilight council and buff gw units

What i wanna no is how much is it going to cost, will sc2 be playable online without the expansion, or will it be like bw and sc1 separate. As for the game itself new units would definitely be welcomed. As for a Zerg unit in particular maybe a caster, or another 1or 2nd tier unit that is capable of anti-air and or ground because hydras really arent so dependable they are too slow, and their attack is par. Maybe if drones could morph into faster drones for faster mining/ build time. SOMETHING PLZ

I think marauder, roaches and stalker must be eliminated because main composition, high HP and most importantly similar RANGED unit. stronger and sneaky hydralisk could be melee to ground and spine attack to air. Terran has ability to build wall so they can manipulate the terrain for their advantages. Protoss has faster tech tree to build archon and they can introduce again arbiter and recall ability for protoss mobility, cloaking unit shouldn't have air bending, and HP upgrade for zealot

I know the change is only cosmetic, but I think it would improve the game. I remember in the original starcraft even five or six zerglings looked intimidating in the early stages of the game, now they just feel useless
