Remember when he was scoring 18ppg first 2 months? Pop drew plays for him, don't know why he stopped doing that. There were no alley-oops, he started camping on the three and that's not his game. He just disappeared and got lost.

They could still when a championship without Kobe, thanks to people like Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum (if healthy and mentally ready), Ron Artest, Derek Fisher, the bench mob and let's not forget Phil Jackson (possibly the best coach in the NBA), as long as they develop the same or better team chemistry and understanding.
Derek Fisher is a good point guard, believe it or not; he could lead the team. Billups and CP are great point guards, however. But as long as the Lakers can have a playmaker who can direct the team using their strengths and weaknesses, they'll be fine. Pau Gasol is a veteran that could develop into a leader through his Olympic, Euroleague and the NBA experience. I do agree that the Lakers would lose a true scorer in Kobe that could drop 30+ points on any given night if he were to ever leave.
Nop, i dont believe that Derek Fisher is a good PG, he just make magic shots, He is old, he is slow, he dont make assist, he dont make the team better. No kobe in the lakers is like no Gilbert Arenas in the wizards

He specifies "This is not a predicted order of finish for next season, only one guy's evaluation of what's transpired between the end of each team's season and now." He ranks them No. 1 in off-season management in terms of money usage, player selection, and their impact. That doesn't mean that they're team is #1 in terms of who's play better (unless that's not the point you are trying to make). Fisher can still defend, shoot & pass.
And everybody needs to stop with the Rasheed comments. As much as I would love to see him playing with us, that would put us way too far over the luxury tax. And I highly doubt Sheed would take the MLE.

I played with and against RJ at Cave Creek park many years ago. He was not very good but could always jump. When he was about 16 I could tell he was going to be a pro.

Canman,Ginobili will come off the bench and you have no one from the bench that can guard him,especially if they play him at the point guard position which he does very well.Forth quarter comes around they will play all four.Parker, Jefferson, Ginobili, Duncan and the draft pick at center,Bonner at center or.Just maybe,Tiago Splitter.which we have the rights to.If we Get Tiago,its over!Anyway,Would be awesome to see Spurs vs Lakers... again... like good ole times!No matter who wins! Rasheed Wallace wont do enough for the Spurs. The Lakers can matchup with him. They matchup everywhere with the Spurs accept at PG where they have never been able to matchup with TP. The Lakers have 3 bigs in Odom, Gasol, and Bynum that they can alternate. Either Kobe or Ariza can guard either RJ or Manu. Manu could be done anyways. WHen was the last time he was healthy? 2007? THe Lakers win the West in 2010 (AGAIN). That will make 31 conference championships in 62 years

celtics=great competitors (if garnett stays healthy)
magic=good competitors
cavs=fuked up big times with shaq
lakers=great competitors kobe(obviously)
nuggets=good competitors (bilups turned the team around)
trailblazers=are an okay team but houstons better(but idk bout now since yao's out)
chicago=nothing to worry about now that gordons gone
dallas=still suck even with marion

Magic= great competitors w/VC, Bass, Barnes; decent backup in Gortat and maybe Anderson
Cavs=better deal w/Shaq than Big Ben & Pavlovic
Chicago=don't need Gordon; have Rose & returning Luol Deng plus have Salmons, Noah, Miller, Thomas is decent defender
Dallas=never did suck; better w/Marion plus Nowitzki, Howard, Terry, Kidd

So true. Jordan didn't start winning championships until he got Pippen, Rodman, Phil Jackson and the other cast like Horace Grant, Ron Harper, John Paxson, Steve Kerr, etc. It takes a TEAM effort to win an NBA championship since this is a TEAM sport. I hate when people get a misconception that one person can win it all for a team. It's ridiculous.

Or has he? We shall see if RJ still has the game (along with Parker and Timmy) when the season starts to help the Spurs be contenders. If it doesn't work out with RJ, there's still a nice spot waiting for him with Rockets. Maybe throw in Ginobli as a bonus. lol But seriously though, RJ should be a good fit. I'm anxious for the 2009-2010 season, with all these off season moves and decisions. I hope there's strong contention for the title. Go Rockets !!!!!

They could still when a championship without Kobe, thanks to people like Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum (if healthy and mentally ready), Ron Artest, Derek Fisher, the bench mob and let's not forget Phil Jackson (possibly the best coach in the NBA), as long as they develop the same or better team chemistry and understanding.

Derek Fisher is a good point guard, believe it or not; he could lead the team. Billups and CP are great point guards, however. But as long as the Lakers can have a playmaker who can direct the team using their strengths and weaknesses, they'll be fine. Pau Gasol is a veteran that could develop into a leader through his Olympic, Euroleague and the NBA experience. I do agree that the Lakers would lose a true scorer in Kobe that could drop 30+ points on any given night if he were to ever leave.

I've read the article. That's David Aldridge's opinion. He specifies "This is not a predicted order of finish for next season, only one guy's evaluation of what's transpired between the end of each team's season and now." He ranks them No. 1 in off-season management in terms of money usage, player selection, and their impact. That doesn't mean that they're team is #1 in terms of who's play better (unless that's not the point you are trying to make). Fisher can still defend, shoot & pass.

Kobe didn't shut down an injured Manu Ginobili in game 3 of the 07-08 playoffs... And he didn't do anything to stop Ginobili from leading the Spurs to victory in their first match-up this last season... You neglected to mention Tony, who's gonna guard him? The Spurs have a big 4 now and if one player lights it up, it will open it up for everyone else. Don't be so cocky, it's not like you swept a weakened Spurs this year.

Wrong. First off, nobody can contain Timmy. He's a sure 20+ ppg. Odom and Ariza might not even be w/LA next year. And even if they are, I doubt they could defend such a vivacious player (definitely not Odom). If Ginobili is 100% next season (which he already said he is), there is no locking him down. And TP is gonna keep being TP.
It's fine for you and your Lakers to be scared now because of this trade, but please don't go shouting out ridiculous comments like that.

I played with and against RJ at Cave Creek park many years ago. He was not very good but could always jump. When he was about 16 I could tell he was going to be a pro.

What I said was. I played with and against RJ when he was about 13 or 14 years old.
He like most of us, myself included was a little uncoordinated at that age. (13-14). All though he was not a very good Ball player at that age. He was a way above average jumper.
Post 16 years of age for him. Not many people could or wanted to play BB opposite him. He'd say the same thing.
