May God bless you and your family Bretzer, how impressive. Keeping them in shape, getting them into the mindset of earning things, of "work", things that are sadly missing from so many households.
I follow all your vids and I just have to say, I really appreciate them. Beautiful family! (Now you've inspired me to get my kids into lifting too!).
I think they could do more if the bar wasn't so thick. Seem to be having trouble with the grip. Have them try with a smaller bar, and with a reverse (chinup) grip.
Maybe...but this works for them for now and just adds to the challenge. My youngest daughter just did 20 pullups the other day (she's now 7). She is also used to working on the uneven bars which are quite a bit thicker than this.
@BRETZERR You should post some other videos of your kids bests . Would probably motivate them to improve. After all, that's why you post yours. Right?
Wow, i'm envious...i'm 15 and i can only do 15 and your girls are totally showing me up... I have my siblings do this when i'm babysitting and they are around your girls ages but most are boys and they can't do this...Props on starting them off early with fitness...It's gonna be awesome seeing your girls become pro's at whatever they do!
I think the only thing that can slow these girls progress if if dad's wallet goes flat! Give then some long term goals at chins, pushups and situps to work for (say by Christmas) with some nice incentives if they exceed them!
Both girls show a maturity and toughness beyond most their age! Could you have then try perhaps most situps or pushups non stop? Or some endurance tests like plank hold or leg lift and hold at 12 inches for time. The boys at school are gonna be so embarassed when they beat them at the fittness tests! Love it!
Thanks bro - much appreciated. My oldest once did 100 situps in a row like it was nothing (back when she was training in gymnastics). I will see what I can get out of them one of these days....
Wow those kids are strong. Keep up the work. That is extremely impressive for that 5 year old to bang out 12 pull ups. Also, its pretty awesome that the girl was able to do 12 pullups to. Is she a gymnists?
OMG This is the bestest video I've EVER seen on youtube. Good for you guys. You tell them girls of yours I want to see them in competitions when they turn 18!!! They are going to have awesome bodies!!! Good job parents, good job:)
Thanks for the great comments. We appreciate that. The girls love to train and hopefully they will continue on when they are adults and I am not there pushing them...ha, ha...
It's a way of life for us....just like it is for you! Thanks for the great comments....we will have to do this again to see where they are at now. They are both a little older/heavier....
That's awesome man! Keep them in the athletic circle. (although the actual high sugar, high fat bribe probably outweighs the physical conditioning benefits...but they're young (never too young for DM2...) and probably run around all day, thus need the high simple nutrient caloric intake). Keep up the great family values! Inspirational!
Your 9yr old is far ahead of most girls her age except maybe some gymnasts. I bet she is getting a lot of pizzas by now! Has she tried a max effort at pushups and situps or leg raises for her abs. That might encourage some other 10yr olds to start working out! Lets see, ten cents a situp or a quarter a pushup ought to motivate her.
Thanks bro - yeah, Paityn used to be a gymnast in the national stream when she was 8. She used to do 5 sets of 10 pullups with 30 second rest in between like it was nothing. 100 situps in a row was easy at 6 for her. (pushups...who knows...)
theres no way bodyweight exercises stunt kids growth.. these kids are strong most adults arent strong enuf to handle their own weight on a chin up much less a pull up.. very impressice strenght..
you do this with your son and you keep him in the weightroom, and he'll be putting up some badass weight in highschool and college if he has the right genes
wow, i thought i wasa the only one that does the bribes. lol my 7 year old wants bukogon or soemthing, and i give him 50 cents for every mile he runs. Keep it up man, because recess and PE aint gonna cut it anymore. they got weak. Working out is supposed to be fun and exciting, and its needed with the balance of the mind. God bless
Yeah, I first heard the name Anakin from Star Wars...I love the name. I am not even a real big Star Wars fan either; I just thought the name was cool.
I bet when your daughters start to date boys there not going to need you to protect them haha, they will probably be stronger then there boyfriends if they keep this up lol.
Wow!!!!!!! you have the most awesomest home gym... I envy you! Your girls are so cute .... obiviously the reward system works lol. "Mr.Man is a beast" hes already motivated enough to do hangs. Sheesh!
Dude, that was one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile! You have really strong girls! When I was their age, I couldnt even do 1 rep, never mind 13! Then again... I was never motivated with a slurpee XD
Oh, and it looks like your son was tryin to get one up there as well. I think it's safe to say he'll be doin sets of 20 by the time he's 3 :)
You are very smart in training your kids though, bodyweight exercises are one of the safest ways to go, and you use good motivation to get them to workout, the way I see it the more you workout the more you can eat as your burning caloriesl
Bretzzer you better watch out dude your girls might be able to do more pullups then you someday lol! I would like to see how many pullups you can do sometime!
Ha, they are close already. I can probably do 12 to 15 wide grip (full) pullups with perfect form. I don't really ever do chinups. I can usually beat them in a one set contest, but they can beat me if we did more than one set. My oldest daughter used to do 5 sets of 10 chinups with one minute rests in between each set. I know for sure that I can't do that.
Bretzzer your kids are beats, there girls too! I don't even know many grown women who can do 1 pullup or chinup. I don't know many 5 year old and 9 year old boys who can do 1 chinup or pullup. I love the way you motivate them too.
My mother use to be decent at the flexed arm hang though back in her high school days, which is getting your chin above the bar and holding it there for as long as you can, she could do it for 3 minutes, which was a school record at the time.
Cool...yeah, gymnastics has made them both very strong. In their training they used to do the flexed arm hang while continuously switching grips one hand at a time...try that when you get a chance...it's quite the challenge.
I'm very impressed! They both have incredible pulling power.I've never seen a kid 5 yrs old do that many chin ups....or any chin ups for that matter. The 9 yr old is extremely impressive also! Anakin has a lot live up to haha
Ha, ha, ha...no kidding...Anakin has his work cut out for him. Yeah, the girls are little powerhouses...gymnastics will do that. Paityn (9 year old) used to train with our national kids, before she quit, and the training they did was crazy (i.e. 5 sets of 10 chinups with 1 minute rests in between each set - after they had been training for 3 hours). Gymnastics is the best sport for little kids (3 to 8) and sets them up for any other sport after that...
they r girls not boys
