Wow..this is an interesting little argument we have going on here. There are two versions: student and official, and both are still sung on campus. The version simply depends on the situation. For official events, such as graduations, convocations, etc TAMU is sung. For sporting events and yell practices, TAMC is sung. I was in the Singing Cadets for 5 years, and I've sung Spirit many times. Starting my senior year, we began varying the song depending on the venue.
Can't believe how many of my fellow Aggies love to live in the past...it's a frickin damn 7th biggest UNIVERSITY-- grow up and be inclusive, don't be beholden to old, antiquated and outmoded traditions...create your own new traditions...someone back in 1876 afterall started from scratch, God didn't law down Texas AMC or AMU, you know... men did that.
Listen to the crowds at the football games (posted on youtube) - 'A.M.C.' is what they sing, whether the lyrics have been 'officially' changed or not.
It's what I'll always sing - it shows respect for A&M's history and traditions. But then my dad was class of '46, so I'm biased!

@win81ags Agreed. It is "The Aggies are we, we're from Texas A-M-C." Period, end of story. Nonsense, the rest of it!
