@TheRarehuman airshots in tf2 are way harder than in quake. Quake may be faster paced but you also have little to know air control. These guys can airshot even when accounting for airstraffing. Oh and TLR does play q3/ql.

Do people just like ban the pyro in these? I don't know much, but I saw every class besides spy and pyro, is it just the server, or do people really think they are bad classes?

@karosan44 They are played just very rare because both those classes are very situational. The core 4 have the most flexibility. the Scouts usually do the off classing. the only restriction in competitive is you can only have 1 medic and 1 demoman, and no more than 2 of any class. Than you usually have weapon bans on top of that based on the league. I heard they are going to limit heavy to just 1 per team too.

Sheesh, you must play very often to be that good at airshots. I can't do it consistantly but I have my moments. Pretty recently I got a triple airshot as demoman against a sticky whore. I was very proud of myself.

@phry5 In reality the direct hit is very rarely used by good players because spam is part of soldier tactics, if you can't rely on splash damage to do damage to the enemy you heve to be able to see them before shooting.

And since the soldier can't take full advantage of the splash damage on walls, I'm thinking scout has a higher chance, not a super high chance but say 5-10% depending on their timing. just my opinion

@embzo I'm a soldier at a competitive league (LBTF) and while I'm nowhere near the skills of the real PROS, I do know by experience that if you hesitate to airshot, you'll definitely miss. So we practice to shoot by 'feeling' rather than by pure aim and sight. Often times you'll see yourself shooting a rocket up through a corner just by HEARING someone rocketjump, trying to predict the enemy's movement. And the most surprising part is that sometimes it actually works!

At least FOR ME, I hit a lot more often when I shoot by "feeling", like hearing and seeing the beginning of the enemy's movement and directly and immediately shooting where I think he's going to be. To me it works infinitely better than keeping him in my sights at all times and tracking his movement for proper aiming. Takes too long and requires more concentration, which in turns can be harmful to your movement, etc. That's just me though...

@mauricio1gonzalez Exactly! And TO ME at least, there is nothing quicker than snapping your aim... In fact, that's exactly what TLR does in the video. Of course he doesn't shoot at random, what happens there is a very quick prediction based on experience which makes him snap his aim correctly. I guess THAT is what I call "feeling". Knowing by experience where the enemy's going to be in a split-second.
