@jasamrafo oh you just need to get the right karma, bad karma get's Jericho, good karma will get you Fawkes (a super mutant), neutral karma will get you tunel snakes boy and no matter what karma you have, you can get Charon to work for you, he is a Ghoul tough, and towers over your character easily (Jericho is in megaton, Butch will appear in rivet city after the vault 101 quest to free everyone inside, Charon is in the museum of natural history & Fawkes in vault 87 isolation room)

@jasamrafo you can always use the pure water in the guy near megaton or rivet city till you get neutral or good karma or lawbringer perk + sell fingers to regulators to get fawkes, best companion ingame due to high endurance, at high levels he gets your level +100 in hp, even more hp than any behemoth, he had 3550 with my char being 31, after that, forget there are other fairly good companions :3 kidding kidding, charon with a birthday hat still looks the best while slaughtering mercilessly
