I would rather have a TimeSplitters HD Collection of the first three games than a TimeSplitters 4 to be honest. This is mainly because most of the top talent at Free Radical Design left in 2008 when the company went into administration before they were bought by Crytek. And given how mediocre Haze was, I think it's best to leave the series in its current state of being a near-perfect trilogy rather than have the name tarnished with a potentially disappointing sequel. Perfect Dark Zero, anyone?
@KingLouis51 i agree completely, as much as a new one would be great, i think we need to let time splitters rest in piece as an amazing trilogy. all good things must come to an end.
Lol had to be my favourite mission, loved it when the zombies were on the rampage. Me and my friend used to make a dash for the elevator. Once we called he elevator and by the time it reached us it was full of zombies xD. I really miss this series...
"ATTENTION. ATTENTION! Biological containment has failed in the research facility. Special forces have been deployed. All unidentified personel WILL be eliminated."
When I was younger I nearly shit my pants when I heard that lmao
@ManNotFoundDog me and my cousin had litarally no health and heard that when we were 7 and 10 and two blokes came in w/tactical 12 gauges, we just said " oooo deary me" and got blown away at the same time, it was quite funny XD
@13341ggcaus I knew that thats why it was especially easy for them to rip off since they already did it once before. I fucking love both games still I just think time splitter is not as orignal in that one aspect. One of the weird things about the sibera level and the time splitters 2 in general is that you only see some of the best parts of the game on the hardest difficulty, like the zombies underground that scared the shit out of me cause at the time I hadn't played any horror games.
@13341ggcaus Another fact is that the same guy who composed the music for this game also composed the music for goldeneye his name is graeme norgate and an awesome composer too.
Damnnnn, I still remember sitting in my living room, playing this (for the billionth time) and trying to beat it on hard. The snow was falling outside and in the game, and I was all like.
I love this song ... it brings the feeling of stealth and mysteriousness with an underlying hint of eeriness. I also love the Chicago, Notre Damn (both songs) and Training Ground songs!
I like TS2 better than Future Perfect. FP tried to be a more serious game (evident by the way the characters were rendered and the blood), but TS2 got it right: the characters were bulky because the game, at its heart, is goofy!
@MaximillianZakes I loved both, TS2 moreso, but I still did like Future Perfect's story. It was so fucking epic. The game was more serious yes, but the level designs, mini-stories in each level, just blew it out of the water for me in terms of campaign.
@CozmikMonkey Yes, I agree with you 100%, TSFP had an actual story (and a good one at that) whereas TS2 just put you into the role of some random person trying to find time crystals. TSFP campaign > TS2 campaign. :-)
However, in terms of arcade, TS2 is still the champ! :D The new levels in FP lacked a certain charm that its predecessor had. Also, what saddened me was that in Virus in FP, you couldn't win by being fast, even as robofish! :'-(
@MaximillianZakes Agreed. Remember that Arcade League mission where you had to beat the R-106Y's (I think that is their name) with the rocket launchers and if I remember you were Corporal Hart. I remember dying so many times trying to get gold, and I thought I'd never play it again. When I did beat it, me and my brother used to replicate that in Arcade custom it was so much fun.
@CozmikMonkey One thing that was wrong with TSFP - All the levels were unlocked at the start. I hated that! >:-( It's thrilling to finally unlock a level after beating a challenge or arcade league mission and they took that away.
Also, I will admit, I could never unlock the site and compound levels. Which challenges or arcade missions do you have to beat to unlock them?
@MaximillianZakes I'm not sure. Just last year I 100%'d my file but the majority of unlocks I did when the game came out, I can't remember it's been too long. I generally just fool around in Arcade whenever I get a chance to play.
I've given up with Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. No more good games, just generic shitty games like Halo and Call of Duty. The only games that aren't Halo or CoD are the numerous clones of them. Looks like I'm buying a Wii again, since it plays GameCube games. I can finally get Timesplitters 2 and 3 again and, once again, dedicate my entire life to them as I once did back in the good generation of gaming <3
@jman280292 Another great combo: Play "Capture the Bag" on ice-station with only grenade launchers. Talk about epic! :D
Here's some more great combinations: Team Deathmatch on Scrapyard with only remote mines. Sometimes I'll just stop and stare in amazement at the whole scene! Or in TSFP, Team Deathmatch Vietnam with only grenades. Trust me, it doesn't get much better than that, watching two teams toss grenades at each other across a river, explosions going off in the water ...
I got this game for my 10th Birthday, It was the best birthday gift EVER.
Last time I played it was like when I was 13, but I remember getting platinum on all the challenges and arcade, and doing single player on hard by myself. Ever now and again I just start to think of Time Splitters 2 soundtracks..because, the game is just so damn good.
i remember getting this game for my xbox ages ago, i didnt lay it for the longest time because the cover made me angry "first halo, now this" but when i did OH MY FUCKIN GOD INFECTION WAS SO COOL, then i snapped it in half. about a year ago a circuit city was having a sale because they were going out of business where i lived, i went over to the game section to see if there was anything good, 1 game on the shelf in that plastic case thing, time splitters 2, i was like OOOOOOOMMGGGGEEEEEEEEE WTF?
@wkunzelman1 Tons of them! For one thing, the entire Siberia level is a loving spoof of GoldenEye, which a number of the developers also worked on. You've also got the three unlockable arcade-style games which are all blatant clones of things. So yes, there's quite a bit of parodying going on :D
this music........... ominous and dark, i use it when i go to the ancient caverns in runescape, it fits with the background so well..... this music screams "dark underground caverns of untold dangers"
