The emotional part for me was the ending where the soldier says,"Tell mom i'll be ok....Thank You Sis." It was a short part, but just me having to ever say that, just makes me get a few tears in my eyes that I cannot with hold. Marine boot camp starts in june for me, and when I earn the title of Marine, I hope all of you out there know that we are fighting for your life. I am asking because I am an army cadet Sergeant up in Canada (Yes, I am one of the wanna be army guys who are under 18 who run around the woods every Tuesday night.) and it took me 5 years to make sergeant! And I am guaranteed a promotion almost every year! In the real army (Canadian army) you'll be lucky to do it in 8 Years!

The emotional part for me was the ending where the soldier says,"Tell mom i'll be ok....Thank You Sis." It was a short part, but just me having to ever say that, just makes me get a few tears in my eyes that I cannot with hold. Marine boot camp starts in june for me, and when I earn the title of Marine, I hope all of you out there know that we are fighting for your life. I am asking because I am an army cadet Sergeant up in Canada (Yes, I am one of the wanna be army guys who are under 18 who run around the woods every Tuesday night.) and it took me 5 years to make sergeant! And I am guaranteed a promotion almost every year! In the real army (Canadian army) you'll be lucky to do it in 8 Years!

@DEQR she did this because her brother was killed in war! Not for popularity! Everyone deals with death differently, expresses and deals with grief by sharing--and eventually helps others like myself who lost a fiancee in war.

You are saying "our troops" yet you want too be disrespectful towards a girl whos brother was killed while serving MY country. I'm not and American, but I sure feel the sentiment being portrayed here. We've lost 156 of my Brothers in Arms, for a small army like ours, that's a lot. Then again, ONE is TOO many. God Bless Those Who Serve and Rush In When Others Run Away.

i thank all the soldiers. My brother is over there now and i suport him with my prayers. no matter what anyone says, i belive in our country and so soes anyone who supports our troops. a may not support war a violence but i support the people who are risking their life every day for a cause they belive in. thats true courage.

I wrote the song after being inspired by a young soldier who came back home from Afghanistan and Bosnia suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He eventually lost his battle to PTSD.
