It's not a fair assesment to compare Jack's "Joker" vs. Heath's "Joker". Actors have to consider the tone and style of the piece and then within that develop the confines of the character they will be interpreting. They were two different interpretations of a character in two different stories. In the original Batman Jack's joker fit perfectly and Heath's joker would've been too dark and psychopathic for Tim Burton's vision. Likewise, Jacks joker in The Dark Knight would've been out of place.
The thing is that they both did such diferent takes on the joker, Nicholson was an evil clown, Ledger was a psychopathic representation of pure evil. Nicholson probably made it most like the joker in the comic books but I still prefer Heath Ledger, he did something Nicholson couldnt.
He scared the living hell out of me, that was one key element to Heaths joker, he freaked me the hell out while at the same time he made me laugh, that is something Nicholson was never able to do.

I did not have the experience of seeing "Dark Knight" right in the theaters, but I did with Tim Burton's "Batman" back in '88.
Ultimately, I think it's an apples to oranges sort of comparison, and a personal preference, more so to which film you prefer. I will say that comic book writers and artists are always reinterpreting established characters anyways, so again, I think it comes down to subjective preference.
You can't compare they both portrayed their own style. Jack was mostly trying to be funny and Psycho while Ledger was a complete psycho.(if that makes sense) I guess it also depends on how the director wants the character to be like. If anybody seen a lot of Jack Nicholson's movies you know he can pull off a psychopath character very well. If were to play the part as psychopathic as he did in his other films he would be one the creepiest Jokers of all time.

Maybe Jack did a closer take to the original joker but as a character Heaths joker was better. The thing is that had Jacks joker been in the dark knight it would have sucked since it wouldnt have fit into Nolans world. I did not have the experience of seeing "Dark Knight" right in the theaters, but I did with Tim Burton's "Batman" back in '88.
Ultimately, I think it's an apples to oranges sort of comparison, and a personal preference, more so to which film you prefer. I will say that comic book writers and artists are always reinterpreting established characters anyways, so again, I think it comes down to subjective preference.

You can't compare they both portrayed their own style. Jack was mostly trying to be funny and Psycho while Ledger was a complete psycho.(if that makes sense) I guess it also depends on how the director wants the character to be like. If anybody seen a lot of Jack Nicholson's movies you know he can pull off a psychopath character very well. If were to play the part as psychopathic as he did in his other films he would be one the creepiest Jokers of all time.

But I guess I was in that early phase. Now I go to an Miami Art Institute as a film major, and I'm getting paid to edit company footage and I also just released several music tracks that clubs in good ol collegetown Gainesville and I've gotten a lot of feedback. So Youtube was a start, & you learn from mistakes
