GameGuard (sometimes called GG) is an anti-cheating software developed by INCA Internet. It is installed alongside many Asian massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs)s such as Aion: The Tower of Eternity, Lineage II, 9Dragons, Cabal Online, Phantasy Star Universe, GunZ: The Duel and Ragnarok Online to block malicious applications and common methods of cheating. nProtect GameGuard provides B2B2C security services for online game companies and portal sites.
You're preaching to the choir, dear! Causes more trouble for legitimate players than it does the cheaters. If they replaced it, it would be an ace game.
I might still get it but I'm a little strapped for money right now, spending on more important investments like my new keyboard setup, and an electric violin :D
Not to mention moving out to a new college because I'm changing my major!
Lots of good games to look forward to as well, including NS2, D3, and SC2, but I still might find room for Aion. It might be a better game if I go in with 0 knowledge, 0 hype, and 100% skepticism, unlike a certain other game with 6 months research and hype ;)
looks a lil like NE starter area on wow but im sure this will be much better

Aion doesnt use Gamegurad because every once in a while it bugs the system and can glitch the game your playing causing shutdown or other means.

Aion is not currently using Game Guard, because it has been TEMPORARILY disabled.

They use gameguard? ROFL. Might as well use a rope to tie your bike to a post in the ghetto.

You did? Darn, I wondered where I'd heard about it! LOL
I'm still in a quandary about buying. The GameGuard thing is a big question mark for me.
