  • hey badmephisto, if someone actually took the time to write down all 43 quintillion algorithms to solve the cube in one algorithm, would you bother learning any of them?

  • i avarage 55 sec in first two layers do i suck?

  • @MrTheMataramasuko yes you suck for now , but give it a few more months , you average will become nasty

  • @guitarmaniacify your*

  • @guitarmaniacify i just got 5 sub 30 times in first two layers! i did a 29.06 just few seconds ago

  • 4:56 thats really neat

  • "Turns out there are more clever ways to insert, that don't break up pairs."

  • hi..@badmephisto what is fridrich method..coz i average 1 min - 50 secs

  • the virgin is strong in this one

  • Ignore Steveandguyhobbies, this really helps.

  • not good tutorial

  • In soviet russia the cube solves you

  • damn im 50 sec

  • @thelastair1 Me too! I wanna at least do 30 seconds but im slow at f2l.

  • @AdamantRvs81 sry i maded a new test im a sub 40

  • @thelastair1 Good job! Im still trying to get faster though lol.

  • @AdamantRvs81 u should take a good time looking on the cube so when u have a cross u should know where you got your first corner then try solving the cube slow not to slow 1 move per 1-3 sec then work on your speed and train on some pll and oll and advanced cross solving then should you get faster what cube do u have

  • im stuck at about 30 sec.

i use full pll and intuitive f2l(a few algorithims), w/ 2 gen oll

    I CANT GET ANY FASTER!!

    CAN ANYONE HELP? PLEASE?!?

  • @mjohnsoncuber just look for patterns in f2l, look ahead, and PRACTICE!!!!

  • u have a problem i am fast at puting the pices where they need to go but when i finish the cross i need a loot of time to find (example) the white-green-red peice and the green red peice

  • @Caljkusic1 see this video /watch?v=DsaBg73f9nY hope it helps

  • @mjdhiru tnx man :D

  • @Caljkusic1 :D

  • Face !!!! SHOW YOURS IN THE NEXT VIDEO

  • Show your face in your next video and please make a video as to how to remember oll and pll

  • what cube is this?

  • If i am at about 50 seconds what should I practice?

  • @Kingpin3o7 Try to find the most suitable (intuitive) algo to solve every f2l-slot. That's very important, especially at the beginning, hope I could help.

  • @wyssi Thank you very much! :)

  • @Kingpin3o7 np :)

  • @Kingpin3o7 not f2l-slot, f2l case, sry'^^

  • I miss your tutorials! I've watched these so many times!

  • You just got a new subscriber ;)

  • my average is about 50 seconds, so i'm not great, but here's a tip from a beginner-intermediate cuber on f2l:

you can easily learn how to insert pairs by just doing f2l only, premake pairs and just insert them anywhere outside your comfort zone (insert it where it needs to go though)

  • if you average:

-1.10 mins or more=turn with fingers, not hands.

    -1.10 mins-50 secs=learn fridrich method (F2L,4 look last layer)

    - 50-30 secs=concentrate on solving f2l pairs 1 at a time, as fast as you can. learn full pll.

-30 secs and under=learn the rest of fridrich. learn to slow down during f2l and focus on your look-ahead. NOW you will profit from it the most. the moment you turn faster than you can track the next pair you're losing time.

    my avg 16.47

thumbs up so people can see =)

    .

  • @jpm736 tnx man im paying the most atention to my f2l !

  • @jpm736 yes, hi there. I get 50-1.10 and I know 4 look last layer and Basic F2L. How should I get faster. Should I practice my look ahead so I can move my fingers faster and get a better time?

  • hi Badmephisto, i've been cubing for 2 years now. i wanted to thank you for all those cubing videos you put on youtube. i have watched all your cubing video multiple times and they've helped me improve a ton. i started off with an average of about 2 minutes and (after LOTS of practice) improved my times to an average of 16.47 seconds! looking at the german top 100 list (avg5, i come from germany), i would be in 63rd place right now =D thanks again for everything, you are my cubing idol =)

  • badmephisto, how much should we average in f2l?

  • Your videos are a godsend :O

I got my cube two weeks ago and thanks to you I'm down to 45 seconds average

  • I bet girls wanna be your cube

  • ah? uste esta aplicando mutislotting metodo adict!!!

  • I keep having cases where there are no pairs that can be solved without a cube rotation :(

  • the thing u show at 8:23 is awsome

  • please make a video on multisloting

I think it would really help

    :P

  • what kind of cube is that?

  • What should I do when I have the edge already solved, but the matching corner is incorrect in the top layer?

  • Go On To 9:51 to learn f2l fast

  • awesome video!

  • i can do f2l in about 15-20 seconds and ive been taking notes on all ur f2l videos and im gonna practice a lot thank u very much, i also use ur full pll website so hopefulluly in a couple months i go from solving the cube in 35 seconds to 20-25 seconds with the help from u, thanks very much and plse keep putting up some videos

  • Im left handed but i learned how to slove with my right so my f2l is insane most of the time lol

  • Where did you get your cube?

  • great techniques!

what cube do u use?? ty

  • great techniques!

    what cube do u use?

     ty

  • at 5:50 it doesnt matter if the left slot is made

  • Can you tell me exactly what cube you use? Or send me a Link on PM please. Thanks

  • @EinhverGaur thats what i always think haha

  • @theZKYBOY

    It is :D

  • Also, be able to do all your algs, tricks, and intuitive things with your left hand, so you can insert into the FL and BL slots. Of course, be able to insert into the BR slot too, but that's kinda a given. You can cut out so so so many cube rotations if you can just solve from any angle.

  • 4:15 when you go R' F, couldnt you sneek that other pair in, instead of doing them one after another.

  • Comment removed

  • The Alg at 8:50 was amazing, i am really going to use this, thanks.

You are the best Rubik's cube teacher i have seen so far. Thank you.

  • ...I didn't know 45 seconds was advanced, SWEET

  • now i know!!!!!! ^_~

  • now i know!!!!!! ^_~

  • i see a dice in his computer. just right in his down right

  • hey! i see a strange cube in the down right of his computer? isnt it a keychain cube?

  • another way to do the case at 5:36, no empty slots needed.

    F' U F R B U2 B' R'

i like it, because i found it :D

  • what do you do when you see a F2L pair in the inspection? lots of time i just insert it, do the cross, then i put the slot in the right slot.

oh, and you can multislot at 4:15. R' F U' R' F'. you open up the FL slot with R' F, so theres no reason not to do a U' to out the other pair in.

  • what cube is that?

  • Is it a good idea to solve the cube not that fast but just not trying to stop solving so that you are every second in the solve you do moves?

  • @RyzonRange yes, because then you can make your mind think about things other than solving the pair. its a good way to make your eyes look at something than your hands.

  • I realised this today. Everyone should slow the freak down and do slow solves and see if they can do things shorter and in a faster way than the obvious. so they can see these things during a solve.

  • hey your videos are great man....i watch all of your videos you explain them very clearly....would you watch my videos????im so close to getting sub 20 solves now thanks to your vids...i think i need to look ahead more in my solves and less cube rotations

  • NIce cube...i mean...tiny 2x2x2... :)

  • thanks a lot i love the R' F R F' algo :D

  • I need a cube as smooth as this one, can anyone recommend one to buy? My average is down to 28 seconds and i'm working on learning full OLL right now, I know 14 algorithems so far..

  • @Lastesina the they recently released a dughan (lone goose) cube that i heard was amazing. the alpha V (5) is an awesome cube ( if only i had mine in black) and the F II is also an amazing cube.

  • @coolfrog23 where can I get these cubes? ;P cubefans or?

  • @Lastesina Speedcubeshop com, person is really nice and has amazingly fast shipping. or cube4you com they have some problems but they ship all over the world (rather expensive shipping and takes a while)

  • I get a case a LOT where I'll be performing an alg to insert a pair, an in the middle of the alg, I'll notice a pair already formed in the top layer. Would you abandon what you're doing and insert the formed pair or keep going and hope you don't screw up the pair?

  • @xxoxia I hate when that happens. It's a good question... I kinda do both. I'm still not sure what is best to do in that case... still investigating :( I want to say it depends, but that's not too helpful

  • @badmephisto - Well, it's good to know that you come across some of the same issues. It totally throws me off when it happens. At least you thought it was a good question. Some of the crap you get asked on here is hillarious with the answers you give.

  • I WANT TO SOLVE YOUR CUBE!!!>>>

  • 7:41 <--- U Have a MSN ;) ^^

  • usually video i see are by americans its nice to see that a canadian is good at this

im canadian by the way not to say americans are bad

  • @davidgreece1 - There are a LOT of good Canadian cubers on you tube. It seems to be all I find, lately.

  • @xxoxia i know but i posted that when my avg was like 55s =P

  • Meph what rotations do you do when you do PLL or do you use U layer then PLL then return the U layer?

  • @Tortak39 - I've had trouble deciding this as well. Lately though, if I have to do a y2, I'll turn the U layer, but if it's just a y or y', I'll rotate the cube. The only time I do a y2 is when I know the PLL alg ends in a way where it's hard to turn the U layer after, such as an R or E perm, although, I know how to do E perms from both sides.

  • hey ive heard that begginers method can take you to 30s its true? i there is pls tell me

  • @Kakashiser

yes it can take you into the 20s if u REALLY PRACTICE A LOT

  • but it does not use f2l and you got to orient the corners quite some time, then permute them....can you show or make a video about that?

  • Probably the only way to drop to the 30s is to learn fridrich then go back and have more knowledge of the cube, I do fridrich and I can do ~35s with beginner but I STRONGLY advise F2L to any beginner even if it takes longer at first.

  • @Kakashiser 30 s with b method is impossible, only yu nakajima:)

  • @elxavi18 I sub 30 with beginners method.

  • @Ms09890 if you can do 30 secs with b method, learn cfop and u will do 12

  • @elxavi18 I am 16 with fridrich

  • @elxavi18 i am 10 with fridrich

  • @elxavi18 - Go check out Vietcuber. She gets 18 sec with beginner's method.

  • @Kakashiser - Actually, if you check out Vietcuber..... she uses beginner's method, and gets 18 sec!!!!!

  • As I learn new things and get faster, I also realize that I know nothing and getting even faster becomes harder and harder...

  • f2l takes most of the time, i can't make my f2l below 20 secs. i almost memorize all the OLLs and PLLs.

  • @jayrome23cobre

    F2L? o_O

Well keep practicing it, don't go back to the begginers method. This takes longer at first, but after a while it'll make you a lot faster

  • what is your accent

  • @dragoncandyguy CANADIAN OF COURSE.

  • @dragoncandyguy - I used to think he was Asian at first, before I saw his face.

  • I wan Ur CUBE!!! @.@

    =D

  • he has like 12 ahahah which one you want

  • @Naton if u want free cubes message me

  • Try this alg for the case at 4:31 . It does not require rotations

    (R U' R' U)(R U' R' U) (U R U' R')

    Its really fast

  • its really annoying, i can do the f2l alright i suppose, but its really hard to get quick at it, anyone got any tips for getting quicker at it?

  • pratice makes perfect :) but seriously.. take your time make sure u get a good look at the cube so you dont have to stop between steps things like that... do it a bit slower and check out how long it takes u to realise what peices will end up where and you'll get better (trust me)

  • Keep rewatching meph's vids, and make sure you practice slowly or fast, improve your times by recognising the cases quicker and then solving them quicker!

  • go slow. and make sure your moves flow smoothly. so when you get faster you dont look around too much before inserting the f2l pairs

  • at 1:30 you can do that case without a rotation pretty easily. instead of y R' U R U2 R' U R you can use L U L' U2 L U L'

  • fantastic! very well said! 5 stars.

  • hey hey hey ! i have a question . if i need to turn the back face , how can i do that but at the same time , not waste time rearranging my hold on the cube to turn the back face ? please somebody gve me an answer .

  • slighlty tilt the cube towards you and use your index fingers

  • i finally found a nice type d cube

go to ebay and find a store name Rubikfans :)

  • my only issue looking ahead......

i really need advice on tht

  • how to practice looking ahead:

    1. find your first pair, find the slot where it needs to go. close your eyes and insert using purely muscle memory. repeat until you never miss.

    2. once you're able to insert without looking at your pair, instead of closing your eyes while inserting, use your eyes to scan the cube for the next pieces you need.

the more you practice, the more the motions become automatic, the better your look-ahead will become.

    hope that helps =]

  • hmm...tht sounds practical!

thanks!! i will defenitly try tht out!

  • Oh it does.

  • The tip at 5:42 is great!

but it can be solved even thou there is no other empty slots... try it... :)

  • i know. thats what you call a bad example :D

  • lol u cube look so smooth oo

  • thanks!

now I got best single: 19 sec

and best avg: about 23 sec

  • Im trying to improve general solving then ill be learning full OLL( wanna be sub 20 before learning)

  • thats almost impossible

  • Dude thanx for all of your tutorials you bought down my time from my pb of 55 and now i am 33.17 now to learn full pll

  • hi badmephisto! i've been envious of your very smooth for very long already >:(

could you plz tell me where u bought it from and how u oil it plz :)

  • it would be cool to have a video where you teach us more about empty slots

  • is there any tips you can give me to have my stickers look as good as yours because mine start peeling after a while

  • put new stickers on :D

  • well i tried that and they get worn again in like 2 days

  • use tiles then

  • your accent is awesome and so is your cube.

  • oh my god dude, everyone at my school says" that's just terrible" ALL THE TIME and i was serouisly about to fight a kid today cause he wouldnt stop saying it!! and i was watching this, andand 2 min 3 seconds you said it! wow that is so weird lol, only today i got mad about it, andthe same day you said it lol!!!!!

  • omfg man u do the best tut vids, i love u my new average is now 37seconds

  • lol. after this my average is 27 seconds!

  • SUPER HELPFUL!!! I'm definately gonna try to get usede to those techniquies THX!

  • hey bro i watched this vid last month and now my best record is 18.56secs thx bro your videos have been very helpful

  • of course this video is way over my head, but my cube sucks, i have already ordered a cube, but it hasn't came yet.

with a good cube i think i can do it much better, like 1 min or less

  • my avg. is 28.5 seconds.

  • hi again. i have now memorise your 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL , and i do the cross in about 10 seconds, and my record is yet 1 minute and 24 seconds, cause i'm struggling with fl2, i take a lot of time doing it .

can't you make a video of the most common algorithms you need to understand of f2l ? you have one pretty good, but some more would be asewome. i have the aplets -.-

  • I use the 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL + Cross + F2L and my best is 46s and avg is 1m. You need to learn some F2L fingertricks and maybe a better cube if your one is hard to turn with one finger.

  • Work on the cross. Memorize the cross, do it in the least amount of moves as possible. I can get sub-30 second solves on the beginners method, with no shortcuts, unless you count the moves backwards, it just takes a lot of practice. I am just now learning this F2L and the 2 look stuff. My best average is 29 seconds with the beginner's method, and with a 23 second PB again with beginner's method. I wish I had learned the OLL and Pll earlier lol...

  • How long did you practise with beginners for?

  • I used it for maybe 3 months, switched to 4 look last layer, and started learning intuitive F2L. I know all but like 3 PLLs. I still use beginner method F2L when I am timing myself because my personal best using this is 21 seconds. I have been cubing for maybe 5 months.

  • check out his cross videos. it really helped me.

this is how i get my cross...it might help u.

i ask myself: "WHAT IS MY PLAN?"

then i get the white edges on top relative to other edges, so at the end, i just adjust the cross...i get my cross in around 4-5 seconds.

my average is 30-35 seconds....best is 24seconds....so if it can work with me, it will work with u =)

  • i have the same average as u,my personal best is 19 seconds pll skip

  • the case where you used the 'slice' move was ingenious

as a newbie cuber but one that can appreciate such innovation, that was good stuff

the whole f2l video was good. all your videos are good.

    must. practice. f2l...

  • so do we have to memorise the alogaritms for all the cases of f2l or only for special cases only?

  • im jealous of how smooth that cube is!!!

  • yh i no, do u no where i can get smoth cubes

  • no idea sorry.

  • is that even a rubik's brand cube in this video?

  • wow, I hope thats a joke :|

  • -puts a gold star on his head- u get one for every good vid... ima be outta gold stars soon, damit

  • Give this guy an award!!!

  • is there a link to a place with a printable f2l algorithm sheet please? printable please

  • omg is he jesus???

really good stuff by the way!

  • what is F2L?

  • I dont know... but I heard of this new awesome thing called Googel or something. I heard its really good

  • you don´t understand sakasm, do you?

  • Sarcasm not sakasm and I was answering weeface's question

  • wsry my english is bad because im german...yes thats embrassing for me that im so bad in english :/

i think the answer of the one before you was sacasm

  • or perhaps you spelled it sakasm on purpose...as part of the whole sarcasm thing lol

  • I wasn't trying to make fun of your English, I was trying to fix you spelling and get a little bit of revenge. sry if you were offended.
