Good luck Jack!!! Genji is 54 chapters long and that doesn't count footnotes & description of people and things. I've been reading this book for 24 years and I find something new everytime I read. I've started reading an English translation by Royall Tyler. I've read the Seidenstecker translation for 24 years. Arthur Whaley's translation is a dud.
Sounded like she had a hard time saying the Japanese Words. lol

The Tale of Genji is a wonderful novel. It makes you feel like living within the Heian period, with all its romance and intrigues...
