  • This is one "helpless" video. =p

  • Your video went viral on Cyprus

  • To be cruelly and blatantly honest... your description is rather exaggerated, for starters the dials on the crypteks can be taken apart with a hammer and screwdriver im sure, u know aluminum can't really take much of a pounding; and as far as security goes well you can always use TrueCrypt. But if you're looking for that geek/attention getter factor ok crypteks is your gadget.

  • I love TrueCrypt. Very comfortable with the technology . Just load TrueCrypt on the machine being used and use TrueCrpt for security cant be broken into this is military encryption. I trust it completely .

  • Secure? Until I take it apart. lol

  • WHat is the name is the iPhone 4s case you using in this video?

  • Crypteks is secure but not like iron key those guys are in this business for more than 10 years and lots of banks are using there technology to make them secure.

  • The World's Most Secure USB Flash Drive is IRON Key that Crypteks is secure but not like IRON KEY, having a hardware lock like Crypteks its not in off, iron key has it too you cant get to the chip it melted on chip. IRON KEY its the only flash drive with 2 storage with 256bit military encryption and personal costume browser and with a online security that if you lose you Iron Key you can say if it get connected to internet and you put it to get destroyed it would get destroyed by its self.

  • I want one not because of my data, but because it looks so cool :D

  • Apparently you have not heard of IRONKEY. Been around for a couple of years...

  • I would be mad if I forgot my password lol

  • TRUECRYPT there...problem solved without spending money!

  • wooo i love the big bang theory!!

  • "Yet..." *Drinks from cup*

  • So, something the government could use to keep their secrets... Secret.

  • So.... USB 2.0??? No, thanks.

  • Hmm, So this is a Ad.... o.O

  • well thats nice for hardware security i guess

trucrypt is all you really need on a flash drive..

just get a 32gb flash drive, swap out the case with a 2gb drive and have a dummy partition with random files on it and a return/reward information document.

i bet this cryptek flash drive costs +$700 for the 4gb version with all that hardware built into it....

  • A time portal?

  • @lockergnome if you are interested in really secure usb's, you should look into ironkey.

  • I must disagree. crypteks is a not the best idea for safe storage its a cool looking USB though. These USB however good the encryption it always get reversed within hours of there release. then the source is spread and even VB6 will be able to do it

    Use the cloud...

  • I'll stick with my Ironkey.

  • I used to use flash drives, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Chris does the crypex wipe the drive forensically cause if it just deleted then there are tools that could get the info back

  • Cryptek... the world's most secure porn drive

  • this guy made half a million off of youtube, wtf!

  • @Vertson You misspelled the word "college". Good luck in the journalism world.

  • I bet i could get into it.

  • chris how long are you going to be keep on having your sound off and when are you going to put your sound back on chris

  • what is wrong with the sound? I feel the sound isn't quite the same.

  • I knew it was Kickstarter!

That's a great idea but i half to say it's kin of cheesy.

  • i thought commenting was disabled for site mantince!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @ssiv226 Well, looks like it's finished.

  • hi

  • i think the first usb stick, chris threw away is more secure than the cryptex ^^

  • I was ging

  • break the usb case

  • "Stick it in" Thats what she said!!! haha

  • This isnt secure because anyone with a brain can connect 5 wires to 4 pins and a ground with schematics and a soldering iron...

  • The ad on the channel says that XTS is the best encryption Flash Drive.

Who to believe..Chris, or anonymous, fancy, looking ad...hmm..

  • What iPhone case is that?

  • This will be good for saving my por... I mean personal files....

  • Comment removed

  • Yu no

  • Iron Key. Nuff said.

  • I laughed when you threw that USB that you could not get the lid open on I had that happen to m once and I actually broke my USB drive.

  • YOU GUY FOR VIDEOS LIVE ON YOUTUBE AND SKYPE AND TWITTER

  • err. IronKey!

  • Oh, the things people waste their money on these days. Also... as others have said, use Truecrypt for free.

  • What use is AES encryption when the password key is only a few characters long?

  • About the whole scouting for gadgets thing, I regularly go on computer manufacturer sites and configure kick-ass computers, For fun.

  • The world's most secure drive is my brain

  • Kingston have had Encrypted Flash Drives (in the form of DataTraveller Locker) for a while but I'm unsure if the built-in software for setting/entering your password works on anything other than Windows. If every feature of this drive works on Windows, Mac OS X & Linux right out of the box, then it's a winner.

  • Chriasfingered his phone.

  • Are you serious Chris? This has already been done before!

  • ive seen ALOT of your videos and im pretty sure your a coke head

  • crish i have the same usb that you coudnt took the cap off....P.S. you slide it...:)

  • The best thing is to use truecrypt! Its free, very secure and works with all operating systems! This is truly secure, it cant be opened by anyone if you use a secure password!

  • 5 word password is not a password.

  • truecrypt!

  • what if i use it on other operating system? like linux, dos win98 etc.. ? still encrypted?

  • Chris, I strongly suggest you hold back on investing in this. There are some serious security concerns with what they're building, and they're inherent in the design. For a proper design, take a look at IronKey, a product that has been out on the market for some time.

If I understand your description correctly, the encryption can use only a few numbers because you're dealing with a physical tumbler thing. A short insecure password on a device I can take apart and plug in the PC anyway.

  • @penisculatus The way I took it from what Chris said is that if opened incorrectly... ie forced open then it will erase the data on the drive anyway? I suppose one could be developed that self destructs if the key is incorrect or you try and force it open?

  • so you said it has a mechanism that erases stuff if you get it wrong what if u accidently get the password wrong or someone messes with it ? all your stuff will be deleted i would be pissed

  • engadget

  • 1:11 how much do you bet that the usb drive Chris threw can be opened by pushing a slider on it :P ???

  • @880User088 no I think it is pushed from the back.

  • @880User088 i have one, you push the cap in. its to prevent losing the cap

  • @880User088 But he doesn't know that, which is sad..i still have respect for you Chris.

  • @mastergp4life What are you talking about lol

  • Took a look at the product info and it turned out to be pretty interesting. I might actually buy one if it hits the market.

  • the first usb you were trying to open is a sandisk cruzer. You push it out not pull on the non existing cap. Cool idea by Crypteks though.

  • 1:19 That's what she said yo!

  • Chris on the big bang theory would be AMAZING!

  • I think I better get one to keep my mom of my porn. xD

  • Comment removed

  • Can you help me fund my movie, Chris? I need $2000 for it!

  • @AviatorStudios you should email him instead

  • @dantonm3h Good idea!

  • Da Vinci?

  • Child porn me, no...

  • LOL i know what is a USB =.=

  • finally a video that isn't trying to crack jokes all the time!

  • This is a must have

Long long ago I tried some encryption program for my USB drive

It sucked, encryption took waaaay too long & it wasn't a cohesive process.

This however, just made it to my Christmas list

  • what if you accidentally messed up and all your data was erased.. that would suck

  • perfect for criminals :P

  • so, if you screwed up the word, then all of your data would be wiped. interesting.

  • seems pointless. :s

  • You could just break it with a hammer

  • yahhhhhh I like pie :D

  • 7th

  • Wiat what is the link to the site ??

  • so it's basically like an ironkey 256-bit AES but with an annoying "case" around it ? I WANT IT. it looks so freakin awesome !
