  • What are you doing here, your'e missing the video..

  • THIS song is almost too good... :)

  • So glad this is still on here!!

  • Wonderwall. its just dick. thats what it is. a penis

  • lol, wonderwall. might as well add foreigner to the mix.....what a dickhead mentioning that rabble in the same sentence as Pavement.

  • @historybuffpa, a State Fair in PA had Sonic Youth??? Ween??? Flaming Lips??? NY's got Kansas, Styx, Bonnie Rat and a slew of other clunker rusty ol trucks on their stage. Damn.

  • I saw Pavement in '94 at Lollapalooza in Philly/NJ.

    Feel very lucky.

Also saw Pavement's bass player, play with Sonic Youth a couple years ago at a kick ass state fair show in PA. Featuring, Sonic Youth, Ween, and The Flaming Lips.

  • @HISTORYBUFFPA lucky lucky fella .. :)

  • @HISTORYBUFFPA WEEN KICK SO MUCH ASS, as do the flaming lips and sonic youth

  • @Psychobilly4life So true. Show was like a religious experience to me.

  • @HISTORYBUFFPA I bet me and my friend would've killed to be at that show....

  • @HISTORYBUFFPA are you fucking serious?! i live in PA and i missed it?!?! goddammit!

  • @gar992000 Yeah, man. I now live in LA, and I just missed the Flaming Lips playing out here at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I was very bummed because I found out after the fact.

  • i think i would have actually had a stroke if they preformed this when i saw them on saturday

  • i saw them on sunday... and boy were they good.

  • I saw these guys twice in 1993

if I can brag a little

There are some good things about being an old man

I was alive when music was still inspiring

  • my favourite pavement song!!

  • This is amazing.

  • even fucking better live!!!! malkmus is a genius!!

  • I was shivered by a six inch car, besides...

  • conduit for sale! at the beginning!!!

  • No Life Singed Her

  • fuck. I get those two mixed up :/

  • Wow. So, Wonderwall is the only song with chords on guitar, or what? It's not very similar to Wonderwall. If this reminds you of Wonderwall, many songs must do.

  • do not compare this to wonderwall, please

  • wonderwall is the lamest fucking song by the biggest bunch of dickheads i think the world has ever managed to churn out..

  • also, this video is from 1992.. long before wonderwall

anyway i hope its included on the may setlist, amazing song

  • The ultimate pavement song

  • Fave pavment song! My god the whole thing makes me feel uncontrolably happy.

  • that hair!

  • gary young represent

  • I got to see Mark Ibold play bass with Sonic Youth when they playes with the Flaming Lips and Ween in Allentown, PA. That was a dream show for me. Three of my fav bands of all time. Plus a member of one of my others.

  • gimme indie rock!

  • how can i, how can i, how can i make my body shed for you?

    PAVEMENT! Always

  • all of you lucky people that saw pavement when they were together.

I was only one year old when they performed this show in Belgium.

Damn, wish I could have just crawled there to see them

  • @008fox

i saw the pavement yesterday :D

    so now you can too

  • <3 <3 <3 <3

  • i love this show!

  • sweet sweet chorus ' FROM NOW ON I CAN SEE THE SUN'

  • Uhm, it: "from now on I can see the SLUMS"

  • I'm pretty sure it's "from now on I can see the sun." At least that's what I've always seen on the lyrics sites and heard in the actual song.

  • PAVEMENT IS THE GREATEST BAND!!

we should start a covers band. i nominate guitar!!

any1 in south east engalnd up 4 it?

  • I have a pavement covers band!

    Northern Mexico City!

... wait... damn! you're way to far.

    Cheers!

  • ok, i'll 'be' malkmus, you can 'be' spiral... But how the FUCK would we find a Gary?!

  • kool its adeal id prefer 2 be malkmus but if u got all the right moves then were on. but yeh a gary would be hard and dnt forget mark!!

which part of england u from anyhows?

btw it is 'from now on i can see the slums' at least in this version he did change lyrics alot live though. wish id seen em too i was just 15 wen the split in 1999!! just missed em arghhhhh!!!!!

  • I saw Pavement once in '95 and twice in '99. For all of the bullshit opinions that that go on about Wowee Zowie being too long or Terror Twilight not being Pavement because it didn't sound like 'Slanted' I personally believe Pavement were incapable of making a shit tune because they believed in what they did and enjoyed it. Reform lads! It's been 8 years already!!

  • I love wowee zowee for being as long as it is! all of its tracks are great in my opinion. Drab like the stuff on modest mouse's sad sappy sucker is too long for its own good.

  • I think sad sappy sucker is pretty good personally, but whatever, each to their own

  • one of the greatest american groups of alltime

  • fantastic song. saw pavement live in 97 in oslo.

  • yep, wonderfull stuff!. Dig Malkmus's guitarplaying and singing !

  • a quick google search comes up with Pavement 07/08/92

    Groovey Times, Merchtem, Belgium

  • saw them in '92 -- probably right around this time, but in Denver. Fucking amazing. Malkmus was so perfect for the time in every way -- exactly what I wanted to hear w/o ever knowing it was what I wanted to hear.

  • Loretta's Scars and Range Life are my two favorite songs. Pavement <3!

  • fuck me this is amazing! i've been playing this song on my guitar the last few days and now i found it here! great song this!

  • where is this? at the lintfabriek? if so, i was there! if not, i still saw them. then and in belgium. after the gig most of them were playing pool. the rest of the band was hanging at the bar, as was i.

  • Do you think this was filmed by a friend of Mark Ibold's? Brilliant song, fantastic album, one of my biggest regrets in life is that I never got round to seeing them live.. and now they're GONE! Sob..

  • that's exactly what i was thinking; like Mark is cool but does he realize what is happening 8 feet away?

  • dix points! two drummers!

  • Wow so good...thanks!

  • Pavement, so strange, so weird, so good :) hearde this band first time in 2000, really loved the stuff until terror, terror was terror.

  • wicked-sick

  • sounds fucking ace!

  • One of my favorite Pavement songs. Thanks for the upload.

  • thanks for posting some old-school video of one of the greatest bands ever.
