Hi AtlantaSistah , i agree with what you say. I think that sometimes we mix the advices of people with our own thoughts and mix it if, it goes on our desires. Psychology take it over. However, i've learnt that elders thoughts are sometimes the things that we have to do. That's why, i've learnt to pay more attention to elders advices cause youth is not the wise moment.
I understand what you are saying, but at the same time I can understand where the other party is coming from if she really cared about that person. You don't want to see that person get hurt or get into a messed up situation, so you do offer an opinion and when they choose not to take your advice and go down the wrong path, it can be hurtful watching things go wrong for them. But what can you do, NOTHING. You did everything you could by offering good advice, so you just have to step back.
hey atlanta sistah, i understand where you're coming from because the EXACT same thing happened to me. i had a friend i new back in Toronto (where I am from) and I moved to the UK. my friend kept asking me about moving to the UK and even went so far as to try and ask about "means" for her to move here. I gave her some honest advice and she removed me from her facebook. Turns out she was trying to get away from issues, but if you want someone to help you, help yourself.
Huh. You know, that makes a lot of sense. =0 I guess the big reason why people might get offended if their advice isn't taken is because it makes them feel rejected.
Well, people really just want confirmation and validation for what they are doing or have done. They tell you about the situation in hopes that you agree with them and when you don't, they ignore what you say and will tell their story over and over until they find someone who agrees with them. So in essence, people aren't really looking for advice but confirmation and validation.
I completely agree with you. we all have intuition that speaks to us as well and speaking to another person usually confirms our intuition but due to lack of confidence in your clarvoyance or wanting to believe something else causes us to seek answers in other people. i just believe that as an outsider, if you constantly have to provide advice to the same person continuously regarding the same thing, it's an unhealthy pattern and can become toxic.
I think we do tend to get attached to the advice we give out but it is a thing called free will and we all are entitled to it. Good vid. It applies to some of these videos on youtube as well lol
its called advice,,,so it is you adding a vice to their vice,,.maybe they dont like to do your vice but their own vice instead...!!!

I feel that people sometimes have to go through messed up situations to find their own truth.
All one can do is be there for them when they need to be lifted up and refrain from saying, "I told you so".:)

Most times people ask for advice hoping that you advise them to do what they already wanted to.lol
