fantastic classic. you can see that he hasnt been much of a performer. just a bloody good singer. another great piece of documentation, giving a guy with real talent some recognition.
Dusty springfield took loads of flack cos when she revealed that she was white black people could not understand cos she had a voice in a million. so has timi yuro, barbra macnair, so next question! even r dean taylor and of course bobby paris ok.
my english boyfriend is a big northern soul fan and used to go to Wigan casino to dance. he played some of their songs for me and this was definately my favorite. imagine finding it on here.
His voice sounds like it has suffered over the years. He was an awesome vocalist. He is still good but not great on this recording. I love his acting chops in this video. If only there were more Bobby Paris songs on YouTube!

Didn't Ian break this originally in the Highland room???? I say this because I'm sure I was there the night he played it the first time, around late '73/74.......can't you put the original up on YouTube? Had my whole collection stolen in '79 and never bought another record after that.........
Oh come on. There was a load of crap played at Wigan, but Bobby Paris didn't come into that category, regardless of his race. He just *sounds* so soulful.
wow what fantastic memories of Wigan. Loved those days and will never forget all the friends i made there. Allways in my heartxx
