The even crazy part is that people use these same arguments for celebrating the prophets birthday and when you tell them that the prophet never celebrated his own birthday Sallalhu alaihi wassalam and that his companions didnt they still celebrate and say their "just remembering him" its because they dont remember him the other 364 days in a year Astaghfirullah.
