@shymin12356 I will still argue it would have been a million times better if it had been taken down an octave. You can hear how badly he's struggling to hit those upper notes in a few cases. A number of them are bending all over the place and massively out of tune. If you find that beautiful, fine. That's your opinion. But from a purely objective, technical standpoint, it's typically a sign of pretty flawed technique.

I'm sorry, but with 10+ years of brass playing under my belt, I can say this much. There's a difference between having a bright tone (which is totally appropriate in certain situations) and not hitting your notes right. This trumpet player is struggling to hit those high notes, and it shows. CLEARLY.

Maybe just being such a band geek has ruined this for me, but I just don't understand how anyone can like that sound. Ugh.

@poke2911 ...That's the thing, though. Bad trumpet playing doesn't sound good in ANY situation. It just sounds awful. The notes at 2:41 and 2:55 just make me cringe every time I hear them. At least this song wasn't the worst case of these trumpets. I couldn't even bring myself to finish listening to the Innocent Treasures arrangement from this album because the screeching was so bad.

Wow, the trumpets were absolute epicness indeed. But while watching the video (as in watching the static images) when Mokou's theme started, it gave me shivers and then the picture faded into view...Wow that's an awesome picture to fit it so well! Spooky, Powerful, a hint of Nostalgic, and Hot Hot HOT! I love how the picture is depicting how her talismans are like glowing...and you just KNOW that theyre actually working to supress her power...and being overloaded like that...yowch! thats HOT!

@6DAMMK9 It's probably because they have mutes in the Trumpets (you know, like the jazz ones) that they sound out of tune, which was done purposefully. The mutes also have something to do with the volume of the trumpets. Since the mutes makes them quiet, they have to play loudly. But thats what I think.
