I've always enjoyed the Socrates quote before he drank the hemlock. "I do not know whether or not the gods exist. But I am as sure as I can be that YOU do not know either."
H.P. Lovecraft has a good essay on God and religion. You might enjoy it.
One of the buddhas students asks him "Are you a god?"the buddha replies "NO"."Are you a saint?"the buddha replies "NO" ."Then what are you then?" I AM AWAKE!
Maybe contiensness is ineaveatable as is caos and death. This must form as an universall brain wich such capasaty it sees all other beings at the same time. The only thing it wold want is our inspiration memories and dreams.
What happens with athiests is sometimes they seem to be pissed off at Religion. Of course since they do not beleive in it at all it makes sense they may find it stupid. Im agnostic and overall very neutral and open minded. so many religions beleifs, and of course the question if any of it is even true, can leave anyone confused
When atheists come off as angry and condescending to theists, they make it even harder for their views to be considered.
I'm essentially agnostic. I like bits and pieces of religons, more as myths and metaphors. The Hindu pantheon of gods is fascinating. And I like Taoism and Zen. I Ching, Buddha, which are more philosophies than religions. Gnosticim has some interesting elements.
And I did a video on Kabbalah -- I like the symoblism of it, ignore the Madonna nonsense with red strings.
Yea I aswell. I enjoy more the philosphy and guide to live life part of religions and beleifs. Hope, peace, the giving of strength to ones self to succeed through negative situations and to live a life overall in peace and to be content. Doing general acts of good and the apprecation of our world and people. of course this could all just be a mindstate, The question if the gods and all the supernatural is actually real pulsates in my mind and keeps me from becoming religious.
but the very same question keeps me from being atheist. True confusion it only keeps me wondering. Sometimes it seems as if there is absolutely no god. literally. but sometimes you wonder to yourself.
The Nowhere Man is next to him. There's a whole line of these action figures -- including the Beatles, as themselves and Sgt. Peppers. There's the Submarine, the Flying Glove, the Vacuum Monster, the Apple Bonker.
The Nowhere Man comes with holes.

I don't know why people are so hard on Richard Dawkins, I like a lot of his thought. Yes, perhaps he takes the Atheism too far, but Christianity and Co. have had 2,000 years of too much influence.
I think Memes are an incredible metaphor, I don't think they literally exist.
Excellent point! An infinite or a finite universe are both mind-boggling. A creator God seems necessary, but: who/what created "Him."? How do we explain an Uncaused Cause?
Read about mathematician Georg Cantor, and his levels of Infinity, to really fry your brain.
The sideways 8, infinity symbol, is called a lemniscate.
I am atheist, you say that we out-rudely demonstrate our feeling towards god, look at other religions. Many others say if you do not believe in there religion, you shall be condemned to hell, or should be murdered. And you call us harsh?
By the way Einstein was in fact atheist, he recalled that he did not want to have anything to do with religion at his time. Many of his quotes in fact you can pull up has some harsh content towards religion.
I am an atheist myself when it comes to the three Abrahamic religions. Please notice that I said that only SOME atheists have that harsh attitude; of course not all. I admire Richard Dawkins and other atheists.
Hxax, 2: Yes, I know Einstein was an atheist, but here -- maybe not too clearly -- I mention that when the good Dr. referred to God, he used it as a concept for the Laws of Nature, i.e., Physics -- the wonders of Science, and NOT as a supernatural being. And I referenced Carl Sagan's famous statement, and Occum's Razor. So I defended atheism!
If you have time, I suggest you watch the first half of my vid again, to see some of these nuances. Anyway, thanks for commenting!
Of course I also recommend the Book of the Law itself, and the other Holy Books of Thelema, as well as the commentary, now published under the title "The Law is for All".
Also, Book Four (Liber ABA) is his Summa, and is a heafty tomb, but definitely worth the time; and I really cant recommend highly enough his "translations" of the Tao te Ching and the I-Ching. (not really translations, but a reinterpretations of dry, scholastic works). Best though, if your going to read these reinterpretations, is to have a firm grasp of the language, imagery and meaning of The Book of the Law, and of more traditional translations of the Tao te Ching and I-Ching.
I'd have to suggest Magick Without Tears, as well as And of course, The Book of Lies. MWT is a series of letters on diverse topics, one of which is The Tao, and the Book of Lies is a little masterpiece, also covering a diversity of topics, including, of course, The Tao.
If you want to see an interesting perspective on how Taoist and Hermetic beliefs relate, I suggest the writings 'of' Aleister Crowley: "For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect."- The Book of the Law 1:44. "Now a curse be upon Because and his kin! May Because be accursed for ever! If Will stops and cries Why, invoking Because, then Will stops and does nought. If Power asks why, then Power is weakness."- The Book of the Law 2:28-31

ah yes, the great unknown! my main disagreement with the 'not enough proof' argument goes something like this..
"for it is uneducated not to have an eye for when it is necessary to look for a proof, and when this is not necessary" - aristotle
