  • As if the leaked Climate Gate emails from University of East Anglia in England aren't enough proof of crooked scientists on the gravy train, polar ice and glaciers have increased in recent years. The Royal Society now admits it doesn't know what temperatures are going to do, as the planet hasn't warmed for the past decade - this is why the name was changed from global warming to climate change. This is brainwashing rubbish from the al gore fan club, to make us all pay more green taxes.....

  • @GodzillaMonstaMan omg ur so right. someone should make you president of the world RIGHT NOW.

  • very well made video :)

  • In a word......... BULLSHIT!

  • Just wait...with each passing year you're going to experience weather extremes that will include coastal flooding, inland drought, fires, drinking water shortages...most likely in YOUR lifetime.

  • Amazing ill-informed and just plain stupid climate deniers are here. Someone actually said too much CO2 is no problem! There isn't a CREDIBLE person in the scientific community who doesn't think we are negatively affecting the climate. s

  • What a load of crap!!!! Lets link the fear mongering to the world elite and yeah lets give all our money to Al Gore and all his cronies to develop a One World Government to protect us...Oh I feel safe now...

  • @Ctemple2012

"world elite ... Al Gore ... One World Government"

Hey that's only three fossil-fueled brain-dead talking points. You need to do better than that if you want that Christmas bonus from the Koch Brothers.

  • This numskull just makes things up. Example: 1:45 "It's just now that the arctic has melted for the first time in thousands of years." He's even got a map of it, with a great expanse of open water at the north pole.

The only problem is that there's no truth at all to it. It's a great big lie.

The truth is that there's been no statistically detectable increase in extreme weather events in response to anthropogenic CO2.

  • @ncdave4life

Nah ... the truth is that you have ZERO credible evidence to back up your climate-denying nonsense. If you had any such evidence, you would have posted it. But you didn't because there is none.

    tiny*cc/vcs5z

  • @substanti8, quoting...

"Sienz et al. report 'no significant trend could be found in [any] of the cyclones quantities.' In their conclusions section, they note 'The absence of a significant trend in the cyclone parameters for the whole North Atlantic is consistent with the findings of' other scientists who have explored the same issue."

    That's Sienz, F., A. Schneidereit, R. Blender, K. Fraedrich, and F. Lunkeit. 2010. Extreme value statistics for North Atlantic cyclones. Tellus A, 62, 347-360.

  • @ncdave4life ncdave4life is probably one of the many software programs that the government has trolling the net. just mark it as spam and move on.

  • @Bullpuma, I've been accused of many things, but I think this is the first time I've been accused of being a "government software program." :-)

  • The rich which are people that run our government has become above the law, and congress is the rope that is going to hang us all.

  • Shoot yourself! save the planet! ^__^

  • @PseudonymPlayer You go first, then I'll go....but then again I will probably change my mind after you've shot yourself and stick around ;)

  • Reading these exchanges is just so depressing. I'll have to go take a shower.

  • These are some Encyclopedia Dramatica worthy rants from Clara.

  • @MarkGubbish - you wrote the dramatica article and promote it from 1000s of evil demonic child-molester channels you have.

kill yourself you space-theifing mong-spawner-visiting noise-polluting nature-spirit-rapist evilest scum imaginable cunt.

  • @TheElasticNightMassa Hopefully Encyclopedia Dramatica will pick up your gems you've been dropping.

  • @MarkGubbish - child-molester, anyone taking even a passing glance at your stalking of me in your perverted demonic paedo-cult mong-spawning dramatica article agrees with me about how evil you are anyway.

anyone seeing it otherwise - well we know those scum are already zombie-nodes of your control-&command-center head psychic controller, you're just tools of a failure faggot who'd ruin the world to try to have me as their partner in some way.

dramatica proves me right about you. kill yourself.

  • @MarkGubbish - btw mong-spawned child-molester,

why have you faved this video anyway,

you have about 1000 channels that deny climate-change is man-made, cause you're a typical right-wing nutjob faggot peado liar.

    kill yourself.

  • The look in the eyes of the guy in the green shirt is heartbreaking....

What a shame every mother fuckin thing has to be politicized, we should've been changing over to clean energy decades ago.

  • I see some new and some old Clara Massa alters on here.

  • @MarkGubbish - i only saw this video from your faggot-scum channel faving it, child-molester occultist pervert.

you stalk me obsessively same way psychotics stalk famous people, peado useless-eater jew fag.

    kill yourself faggot, you're a demonic noise-polluting nature-rapist useless-eater.

scum like you are the reason nothing was ever built sustainably, the only sane way to build societies. it's your kinds evil inferior minds that shape the sheeple-scum societies failures, kill yourself scum.

  • @MannySteinerBIeeky As proven once again, you stalk me as you followed me onto this video, but you were already here on many of your sides. Gubbish

  • @MarkGubbish - scumfuck, i'm not stalking you - you exist merely to stalk me so obviously i do all i can to identify you, and your greater conspiracy that helps you stalk and abuse me etc.

i don't have sides you child-molester occult-secret-society-member faggot jew scumfuck. i'm the same person i've been all my life, and in all my past lives too.

you have no contact with me therefore cannot comment on me. i however can state the fact - you = stalker abusive paedo.

    kill yourself scum.

  • @MarkGubbish - where the fuck is your explanation of why you claimed i stopped raw milk products being available (in your tampadoc channel)?

i've promoted and largely practiced healthy eating since before i even left school.

all you've done is stalk me abusively with some of your other fag jew paedo channels, posting the same shite from them as usual.

    where's your explanation cunt?

kill yourself, conspiracy of noise-polluting nature-spirit-raping useless-eater sheeple zombie scumfuck.

  • @MannySteinerBIeeky You drink sheep, goat, and cows milk from the Brokeback Mountain dairy. You also extract more than milk from those poor critters up there, besides the satanic things you did to the fairies there. eat my massa

  • @MarkGubbish - faggot look at your channel - you are a homo not me.

child-molester, you're the same conspiracy as my fake family. they know who you are & they hide it from me so they can try to claim that i'm actually you, cause they know if i knew who you were then their whole conspiracy is blown wide apart, which'd mean the whole peado-cult occult secret society Earth-raping capitalist evil exploiters conspiracy goes tumbling down with it.

    kill yourself scum.

  • @MarkGubbish - another reason i know you & the maria lala-land evil mother disease conspiracy are the same, is cause you always spread the lie that i'm TEJ,

and after he made a different channel and told me he was trying to stay incognito - the lala-land mother-disease said to me later on 'i thought you were trying to hide (online)' - ie, she = you, same paedo's trying to claim i am TEJ, nv, etc.

and she gets that sent directly into her borg head, as she doesn't go online.

    kill yourself fag.

  • @MarkGubbish - those aren't my channels you noise-polluting mong-spawning faggot space-invader demonic cunt.

you have many evil demonic peado channels and you stalk me with most of them. i don't eat animals, child-molester, same way i do nothing else your faggot peado stalker conspiracy says about me, you meat-muching factory-farming useless eater.

    kill yourself scum.

  • Look at all the Massa "sides" on here.

  • Animals evolved to metabolise oxygen, the waste gas of plants. To metabolise carbon dioxide

  • Or as Christards would say, Goddidit... 'cause he's mad at Gays.

  • To boost plant yields, introduce carbon dioxide. Oxygen is plant waste. Carbon dioxide their food.

  • Average Global Temperatures SPIKED +0.6C (+1.08 degrees F) since 1975.

Summer Arctic Sea Ice has dropped -50% since 1980.

Since 1950 atmospheric CO2 has spiked +30% over highest levels in 400,000+ years.

CO2 Ocean Acidification is up +30% since 1900!

  • @goog2k the government sucks. they lied about iraq, covered up mkultra, they lied about schedule 3 drugs, they steal 90% of the world opium, they hand out guns to drug dealers in the mexican drug war, they infringe on constitutional rights through police-state-like presidential directives.

  • @goog2k They even want us to believe that they were able to identify that 19 terrorists did 9/11. Supposedly all 19passports, flew out of their pockets through the fire ball that incinerated everone on the plane, then flew out of the plane and landed in the rubble rubble in perfectly readable condition where they could be found in 48 hours. How did they get in the country if on terrorist watch list?fake passports.then how could they be identified with fake passports?many lies like this

  • @Bullpuma, why do you 9-11 "truthers" just make up ridiculous LIES like that? Please, get back on your meds, before you hurt yourself!

    I'll bet you're a Ron Paul supporter, aren't you?

    Of course.

  • Carbon dioxide increases life on earth. It has no effect on the weather. Its level in the air has been static for 200 years

  • @JonThm start your car and breathe in the exhaust fumes. IT is mostly carbon dioxide and it will increase your life.

Climate-change theory faces sudden collapse By MATT PATTERSON

  • have a look at this

    watch?v=7ZWA6dM-L8g&feature=player_embedded

no propaganda needed to explain earth changes, the SUN creates changes in the earth, astrophysicist Piers Corbyn has predicted all of the changes without fault since 1995 using the suns activity and historical records, cant argue with a success rate like that, hopefully this russian probe will quash the bullshit CO2 AGW for good

  • jimbills and suzisueful why dont you get a room!

  • @bl0tch Got anything else to contribute? Any thoughts on the McKibben video?

  • Liberal propaganda. A lot of the information is wrong. The tornado activity this year is not unprecidented. There is a specific weather pattern occuring this year that occurs every decade or so (forgot what it is called) that has historically resulted in higher numbers of tornadoes and some of the other phenomena. Also, the arctic didn't "melt". A large amount of sea ice had melted over a few years but almost all of it has reformed in the past year and a half.

  • @Suzisueful All of these weather patterns are cyclical. I could tell it was a propaganda piece as soon as it started and knew by the end it would turn political. Its mostly for the purpose of scaring people into voting for democrats, apparantely only 87 of those who watched this were smart enough to see that! SAD country, ignorant country we live in! This is some stupid shit.

  • @Suzisueful Okay, Susie. Apparently you know everything about this matter, and AGW theory is just a Democratic scare tactic to garner votes. April 2011 wasn't the most active April for tornado activity in U.S. history (oh wait, yes it was) and the Arctic isn't melting faster than at any point in recorded history (oh wait, it is). Scientists had no clue that cycles contribute to weather patterns (oh wait, never mind). Are you saying that CO2 buildup in the atmosphere has ZERO effect on climate?

  • @Suzisueful LOL, trust me, I know my shit. Not getting into it, I was, just sayin'! I've said all I need to on the matter, not up for debate, it's really just facts. Like I said, A LOT of the info is wrong, I did NOT say all of it was. Al Gore is one hell of an authority on all of this too... dumb bastard! You should jump on his bandwagon!

  • @Suzisueful Well, please write EXACTLY what info is wrong (and why) in the McKibben documentary. Facts are great, and I'd love to hear some.

  • @jimbills Honestly? I'm not going to start getting into that, if you wish to know, you should do a bit better research. I have too many projects going on to start getting into what's true, and what's not... sorry. I'm not going to place anymore of my knowledge on this page, lol- I simply have too much on my plate to get into a debate. I was just bringing up the facts I knew. Sorry to disappoint. Real quick though... you WILL be voting democrat in the next election, won't you?! lmao

  • @Suzisueful Well, it's unfair to me to say that the McKibben video is full of errors and then provide none. Your two previous examples are wrong: McKibben never said the tornado season was "unprecedented" (he said April 2011 was a record month, and it was), and Arctic is clearly melting rapidly (there is plenty of data to support this), It's also unfair to me to say that I should do more study without providing info on what to study. You don't have any idea how much I've studied this matter....

  • @jimbills You're not even paying attention. I said, "Not unprecedented!" I don't have time, I have a very demanding jobs that requires a lot of my time, you saw my point, if read correctly, DO the research. I have so much design stuff going on, I haven't got time for this. I thought it was pathetic when I read it. I don't care how much research you've done, because you apparately cannot read! Good bye, my dear!

  • @Suzisueful I'm sure anyone reading this exchange can make up their own mind. Again, best wishes to you.

  • @jimbills You also... didn't say Democrats= Evil, Republicans=GOOD though, not althogether true, and for someone claiming to have an open MIND, that seems to be a pretty strong judgement... take care, we can only hope we make the best decisions for our country. It gets harder with every passing year/ presidential term!!!

  • @Suzisueful ....I engage with folks like you in the hopes that a civil and open discussion will lead to greater understanding. There are certain people that come from the mindset that they know everything, which frankly fascinates me. I generally find that the more one knows, the more open one is to understanding that one doesn't know everything (and vice versa). I do try to keep an open mind, and I keep hoping that an AGW denialist will actually argue effectively.....

  • @Suzisueful ....to show why man isn't warming the atmosphere by oil/coal/gas/deforestation. But, I have yet to run into one. Not one has shown why CO2 release doesn't contribute to warming trends, and I have looked extensively. Because, believe me, I'd prefer it if AGW theory WAS wrong. I still drive a car (quite a bit), and therefore I contribute to what (by all facts I can gather) will make the planet a less hospitable place for our children....

  • @Suzisueful ...Which makes the viewpoint that AGW is purely a liberal/conservative issue very frustrating. I don't think it is, because if it's happening - it's effect won't care about our politics. I run into those that say Al Gore this and George Soros that, but whenever I do independent research on it, I find the claims that AGW is purely politically motivated either wrong or entirely ridiculous. Besides that, I think those that have a Democrats = evil + Republicans = good (and vice versa)...

  • @Suzisueful ....tend to have a very simplistic view of politics. From the AGW standpoint, neither party has done a good job at addressing it - which by itself suggests that our problems run deeper than just R or D. To be open, I vote for the candidate (not the party) and their positions and capability. There are times when I vote R/D/Green, and I consider myself an Independent voter. Best wishes to you, and I do hope that this discussion has helped you in any way.

A large amount of sea ice had melted over a few years but almost all of it has reformed in the bast year and a half.

  • @2110kop Muon catalyzed fusion? The process that makes Tritium, Helium isotope and a bunch of neutrons? Thanks but no thanks. We have "aneutronic fusion", Hydrogen and Boron are the favorite fuels. There is no need for and an Carnot cycle (boiling water and turbines) to extract energy. Energy is harvested directly as electromagnetic radiation, using antenna in HF or VHF range.

  • @th3dig1tal0n3 As far as I can see "aneutronic fusion" is a long way coming - always "it will be ready in 20 years". Do you know any different ? Muon Catalysed Fusion "could be operational within years -not decades or centuries" see "the Big Picture" andrewhorvath. au. com July 11 post. Why not put your observation direct to Star Scientific on their Youtube channel. As long as you do not ask them their method of making cheap pions, they in general answer all enquires.

  • @2110kop As far as I can see "aneutronic fusion" is near its goal for Dense Plasma Focus with 0.5M$ funding. On the other side massive muon production is possible but there are no such devices, and someone needs to make the muon generator and reactor.

I understand making tritium and bunch of short lived radioactive elements is extremely interesting for military industrial complex. It looks like some more funding could speed up development of focus fusion and muon catalyzed fusion devices.

  • CERN 'gags' physicists in cosmic ray climate experiment. The chief at CERN in Geneva has prohibited scientists from drawing conclusions from a major experiment. "It's OK to enter 'the highly political arena of the climate change debate' provided your results endorse man-made warming, but not if they support Svensmark's heresy that the Sun alters the climate by influencing the cosmic ray influx and cloud formation."

  • @scottishtracy Your source on this is the conservative blogosphere forwarding info from the GWPF (which uses a 'tidied up Google translation' for the quote). GWPF is an active AGW denialist website founded by Lord Lawson, the former chairman of the Central Europe Trust, which manages the equity funds of BP, Shell, and Texaco....

  • @jimbills that was not my source, AGW is political, not scientific. take the australian flood for example, it was predicted, as it is on a 38 year cycle, and is caused by the moon, i looked up the records and they confirm it, only this time they planned for a drought, due to warmist theories, they didnt build second proposed dam, let the one they had fill beyond capacity for weeks before flood, then released it all in the middle of the worst flooding. ie criminal neglect, great scary footage tho

  • @scottishtracy Then please cite your source. Look, I've know you've bought into the propaganda that AGW is purely political - as if the thousands of scientists providing data to support AGW theory are just leftist drones and the CO2 levels in the atmosphere are just in Al Gore's mind. As far as the Brisbane floods (another little 'factoid' from the conservative blogosphere), search for "operator of dam invented rain data" and "the australian". So, who is at fault for criminal neglect?

  • @scottishtracy A lot of people get their "news" from subjective analysis these days (blogs, editorials, and punditry). It's always best to search for the root source of the "facts" cited in subjective sources and then examine the provider of that source (but, I think few people are that thorough). Most of the time subjective analysis turns out to be agenda-driven spin - and you've provided two excellent examples of that so far. If I'm wrong, please cite your source.

  • @scottishtracy The data behind McKibben's editorial, however, is solid. Please feel free to review any point of it and refute it.

  • @scottishtracy ....Besides that, saying that solar radiation causes warming is obvious (and obviously correct), but it doesn't address the effect of greenhouse gas emissions and their buildup beyond natural levels in the atmosphere - which are the heart of AGW theory. Increased greenhouse gases would only amplify greater levels of solar radiation. To take these little 'facts' from the GWPF and use them as a reason to completely deny AGW theory is weak on several levels.

  • Top info

  • deep...

  • Dont care. Its still fucking cold in Poland. Even in July!!!

  • Let's face it, the world would be better with far less people, but no one should have to kill themselves and the people that would chose specific others to get rid of are the ones we don't want anyway.

Nature, I love you. Thanks for making the tough decisions for us.

  • great vid thank you

  • Climate always changes, there is nothing we can do about it.

  • Willie Soon, one of the scientific figures who claimed to be skeptical about climate change, has admitted to being paid more than $1 million in the past decade by major U.S. oil and coal companies. June 29, 2011

  • @swordsintopens

Billions upon billions are spent every year through government grants to keep the global warming scam alive. There has been no warming for over 15 years now, look to the evidence not the spin. Also dramatic weather events are at all time lows! Global warming is a global bust!

  • @Dodger481 google "Global warming lull down to China's coal growth", that will answer the fact that there has not been any warning....but it's there all right

  • @brbr28

Yes, it never warms at all but its there. Look for this to morph in ocean acidification soon. Researchers need grant money to keep working.

  • @Dodger481 How disappointing that you are 35, an age where you would think someone starts realizing what the fuck is happening, and secondly that you're from my country....you must be a Ezra Levant loving Harperite Albertan.....

  • @brbr28

I do like Ezra and Harper, they are both straight shooters. Both of those guys also know what is happening that is why Canada is going to bail from Kyoto. So are you one of those rare breeds who call themselves a Bob Rae Fan?

  • @Dodger481 I'm a fan of science and what it's telling us about the planet, which is if we don't change our ways now, in a few short years there will be untold suffering because of climate change.......and I won't even get the pleasure of telling you I told you so, since I will be in the same boat!!!!

  • @brbr28

Don'y fall for the hype. The one thing about environmental extremists is that every one of there claims has been wrong, it's simply fear mongering to accomplish political objectives. The one thing all the science shows us is that the earth is a resiliant and robust system that can always accomodate change. C02 is no big deal and the lack of warming confirms that.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, this is a good video! Well done!

  • Very well done. Thank you.

  • Weather is not the same as climate!!!!! You do those of us who try to inform the public about climate change a dis-service by misinforming them. ...because when you get huge snowstorms, the climate change doubters will use your same logic to argue that there is no climate change. Please use your substantial video production talents to provide real information.

  • @cpluhar1

There is no misinformation in this video. He very clearly makes the distinction between one individual weather event and looking at overall trends in weather events. One tornado hitting Joplin is not indicative of anything by itself. But that tornado as part of a record setting number of tornadoes in April, along with all the other climate records that are being broken and other extreme weather events all occurring in the same few years - THAT is indicative of a climate shift.

  • If global warming is true, why did we have record snow fall this year? Answer than, global warming believers.

  • @Laughingblades

"why did we have record snow fall this year?"

Because warmer air holds more moisture, thereby leading to heavier snowfalls.

Global warming will not eliminate winter. But it will lead to milder winters (in terms of temperature) with heavier snowfall.

    dx.doi.org/10.3354/cr00953

"The water holding capacity of air increases by about 7% per 1°C warming."

  • On 7/28/11, it was revealed that the scientist behind the polar-bears-are-in-trouble research is being investigated for “scientific misconduct”. Then, a new study of NASA data revealed that the earth is actually allowing more heat to escape the planet than previously thought by the climate change community. During a speech at the Aspen Institute in Colorado, Al Gore launched into a vulgar tirade while accusing skeptics of media manipulation.

  • @vechorik

Do you have credible sources for your claims about polar bears or NASA data, or is this just the latest batch of disinformation from Anthony Watts?

Al Gore became frustrated that morons are allowing the destruction of the climate? OMG ... doesn't he know that we all need to remain calm and let the destruction continue unabated?

  • Thank you for this video. I am sharing it with as many people as I can in hopes they will do the same. It's not easy to encourage people to face reality.

  • I'm not sure clicking the 'like' button is appropriate here. I don't *like* this at all. Its worrying and sad and, I fear, it makes an all too valid point or five.

We cannot tie any one event, any one disaster to Human Caused Global Overheating. Not any *single* one. But the *overall pattern*, the trend, the "co-incidence" that so many natural disasters on such large scales are happening so frequently now. That sends a chill down my spine,

  • Your work is powerful. I hope you keep doing good things with your gifts. It really does matter.

  • uh do we have a higher problem the $4 a gallon gas...uh I think so!

  • right on. beautiful and terrifying.

  • 78 dislikes ..... good boys & girls who followed your advice to resist making any connections !

Good patriotic citicens who just followed as they always will.

So we are the majority !

  • @papertigero Interesting that you chose to compare current wheat production with that of 1939, which was during the great depression and before modern intensive agriculture. It would be nice to see data of wheat production in, say, the 60s, and compare the percent yield per land area used for wheat farming then to that of today, taking into account crop density and other factors associated with industrialized agriculture.

  • /watch?v=Vkgp8yJnnRg Not Now not ever watch the BBC FUTURE EARTH FROM YOUTUBE THIS OFCOUSE LINK TO CLIMATE CHANGE JOIN GREENPEACE :) :): ) :): ) :) :)

  • Nothing is ever as it appears to be perhaps we look no further than the Milray weather warfare?? Perhaps it will shed light on the strange "natural" weather around the world!

  • Nothing is ever as it appears to be! I would look into the DOD "Owning the weather in 2025....it may shed a light on some strange "natural" happenings!

  • We see our planet as basically a "Rock" and not a living thing. But notice how it's responding to what might be thought of as an infection. Like our body, it's heating up to the point where the infection will eventually begin to die off & like our body, it doesn't take a major increase in temperature either. Due to failing economies, food shortages, lack of potable water & other issues, In time we will even turn on one another & the human race will decline to the point of mere survival

  • Sure, there is no proof of climate change (or how science works)

    watch?v=Qb8Omi2ozA4

but even the renowned qualified skeptics mostly agree AGW is happening (when pressured under oath)

    watch?v=C8NVsmgeFmo

  • @Plomomedia

You suggested that ignorant opinions about the climate cause one to lose faith. Here's what Elizabeth Kolbert had to say:

    newyorker. com/online/2010/11/15/ 101115on_audio_politicalscene

"When you have a very large part of the population that's either indifferent or really immune to facts -- totally fact-free [and thereby] having a conversation that has absolutely nothing to do with facts -- it's extremely difficult to reach those people."

Please see my channel for more observations.

  • Don't you think that the concrete we try to cover the earth with that absorbs heat help contribute to global heating...I'd have to say I do believe it does

  • No one WANTS to believe that man is causing the Earth's climate to heat up. But it's also accepted by 99% of climate scientists. The science is agreed. There is only a "debate" about this because of massive lobbying efforts by moneyed interests. It makes perfect logical sense why climate change is occurring and why a significant amount of recent change is man-made if you just take a few moments to study the science. To the deniers - look up the term 'normalcy bias' then look at co2now.org

  • @jimbills More like 99% of statistics on the internet are made up on the spot.

  • @Laughingblades

If you don't trust science, then you should get rid of your computer and your cell phone, and you should stop going to the doctor's office — where they conspire to deliver "health care" to "liberal believers" in modern medicine.

  • @Laughingblades Really, it's pointless to try and debate agw skepticism. There are two camps of skeptics, and I'm not sure which is worse, but they'll hold on to their beliefs and opinions despite any evidence.

The first camp of skeptics are those who really haven't spent any effort to study the matter for themselves. They've seen some reports on Fox News, they're in their friends' propaganda email circles, and they had a lot of snow this winter - that's really all the convincing they need.

  • @Laughingblades The second group are those that actually have studied the matter, and they'll invent virtually any excuse to deny the evidence for agw. They accuse climate scientists of cherry picking data while doing it a hundred fold themselves. Perhaps the worst are those who claim that the sun is the reason for recent warming. This completely ignores the CO2 buildup in the atmosphere, which would only INCREASE the effects of a warmer sun.

  • @Laughingblades Our esteemed Speaker of the House (John Boehner) is on record for saying in regards to agw that the thought that CO2 is a carcinogen is "comical" - this is the level of intellect about this matter in Congress right now. Of course, CO2 isn't a carcinogen, but who ever said agw (anthropogenic global warming) or CO2 caused cancer?

Again, study the matter. co2now.org is an excellent starting point.

  • @jimbills If CO2 was a carcinogen then breathing near somebody else would cause cancer.

  • @jimbills

I see AGW denial as a combination of ignorance and addiction. See my recent four-part channel comment for more about the latter.

This video also offers some hilarious insight into the mind of a climate denier:

  • @substanti8 Good link. Although I don't find it funny - it really makes my blood boil. Out of habit, I always check the background of the deniers in the media. Virtually all of them can be tied to conservative think tanks, which in turn are deeply funded by the fossil fuel industry. Lorne Gunter works with the Fraser Institute (wiki it).

Here is a funny video about agw:

    In case you missed it:

    CLIMATE OF DENIAL

Can science and the truth withstand the merchants of poison?

    rollingstone. com/politics/news/ climate-of-denial-20110622

It will be freely available for only a few days, so you might want to download it.

  • @jimbills It's not accepted by 99% of climate scientists. The survey you cite is of 77 climate scientists. If you want an unbiased look at things examine other scientific fields, not just climate scientists that are paid to pump fear. The survey is a scam look it up.

  • Yeah, I bet that ice ages were due to human activity too.

  • @1918Doiran Just because climate can change in a way that will kill us all without our help, doesn't mean we should be encouraging it too. Also, I'd discuss rate of change with you, but I'm gonna assume you won't be able to follow.

  • @1918Doiran & the planet has heated up many times in the past as well. The catch is "Trends," where climate changes usually occured over thousands of years & not in a few decades like we are now seeing. True there have been past major climate changes that happened of short terms, but they have all been attributed to natural phenomena, such as MAJOR volcanic eruptions, or LARGE meteor impacts etc. Neither of those have happened in the last few hundred years tho, but the Industrial age has

  • "fact": carbon dioxide, methane in atmosphere are to earth like adding blankets to bed or insulation to roof. They decrease heat radiation flowing out from earth into space - simply a lab experiment. More gasses will increase energy in the atmosphere.

BUT In Dispute: Earth system response to this heat - feedbacks:

Negative: more cloud cover, increased biomass lower grnhouse effects

Positive: melted ice reflecting less, tundra methane, etc

No one knows, but on balance, +feedbacks v.scary.

  • @davidwinn00 true. however, scientists are freaking out because they know there are enormous quantities of methane being released from permafrost, and if it continues unabated, there will be now way to stop it. this feedback is far more powerful than the reabsorbtion of C02 by biomass. Also, re: cloud cover, it is unknown how much of a -feedback clouds can be, but one theory suggests that if the tops get taller rather than getting wider, it would be a neutral feedback (no net effect)

  • @Plomomedia It's important to note the difference between "unknown" and "unacknowledged". Of course we know the Earth isn't ruled by + feedbacks. We know this empiracly, because a planet that starts out with molten surface and a thick co2 atmosphere (google 'early Earth atmosphere') wouldn't cool down into the happy planet we live on now, if there were such a thing as the + or even neutral feedbacks, you suggest.

Quit lying to children. Some of them might be stupid enough to believe you.

  • @papertigero yes, exactly... the atmosphere was very different back then. Now we have vegetation and ecosystems that formed over millions of years, holding down or 'clamping down' a liveable verdant biosphere. But what we're doing is tearing up that rug, unclamping it - both by deforestation and by emissions of molecules into the atmosphere that would otherwise stay where they belong - miles below the surface of the earth or locked in mountains.

  • @Plomomedia Whither goest the supposed feedbacks of a burned out co2 choked atmosphere? What happened to them? A positive feedback has to be demonstrated to have been in effect in the past for it to be something real in the future. And yet there weren't any + feedbacks, even with an ancient Earth system ripe for such things.

(Google 'primary plant production' and 'effects of enhanced atmospheric co2')

  • co-occurrence does not imply causation !

BTW, isn't it a coincidence that all this happened few months after my cousin learned how to ride a bicycle ?

Yeah .. ask yourself questions ! pfft

  • @MrJekyllDrHyde1 yes technically that would be a co-incidence, but not a coincidence. Nothing that has any narrative meaning.

  • @Plomomedia Precisely ! that is exactly what I thought about this video too !

  • @MrJekyllDrHyde1 Correlation doesn't prove causation, but a rational explanation for correlation based on known scientific facts (1. Carbon traps heat 2. Fossil fuel use emits carbon 3. that carbon concentrates in the atmosphere) that has very serious consequences in terms of human well being should no go unheeded. Plus were not talking about a single event here, we're seeing a very clear trend of extreme weather. Spare me the correlation-causation bs(smoking doesn't cause cancer either, right?)

  • @magicemu Sure you are right about Cabon,Fossil Fuels etc...

what you did there was quoted some facts .. then came up with a weird conclusions by (mis-)using them.

Most scientists (IPCC included), meteorologists don't think there is a link either.

The alleged link seems more like the work of people who have "little information" & love conspiracy theories.

  • @MrJekyllDrHyde1

    "weird conclusions"

You're simply wrong. There is plenty of evidence that global warming leads to more severe weather. You have no evidence to the contrary, just empty rhetoric.

"The water holding capacity of air increases by about 7% per 1°C warming, which leads to increased water vapor in the atmosphere ... produc[ing] more intense precipitation events."

Human Contribution to More-Intense Precipitation Extremes

"Here we show that human-induced increases in greenhouse gases have contributed to the observed intensification of heavy precipitation events found over approximately 2/3 of data-covered parts of Northern Hemisphere land areas. These results are based on a comparison of observed and multi-model simulated changes in extreme precipitation over the latter half of the twentieth century ..."

Anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas Contribution to Flood Risk in England and Wales in Autumn 2000

"In nine out of ten cases our model results indicate that twentieth-century anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions increased the risk of floods occurring in England and Wales in autumn 2000 by more than 20%, and in two out of three cases by more than 90%."

  • @MrJekyllDrHyde1 Out of honest interest, what is the type of indicator(s)(not for climate change but in general reasoning) that DOES imply causation?

  • @stiaa04 here are few examples where they don't !

    1) "It rains a day after I wash my car" : That does not mean rainfall is connected with my car.

    2) "My team loses the match, whevever I watch the match from home"

here are examples where they do :

    1) "When I poke knife in my body, it bleeds".

    2) "When I fill air in ballon, it expands".

Let me know if that helped.

  • @MrJekyllDrHyde1

    1. BIotic sources of atmospheric CO2 are depleted in C-13, relative to abiotic sources of CO2 (such as volcanoes).

    2. The ratio of C-12 to C-13 has been rising as the level of CO2 in the atmosphere has risen.

    sindark. com/2009/11/18/ climate-change-isotopic-ratios

    3. Exclusive of deep underground, terrestrial carbon is a closed loop.

    4. Therefore, the rise in atmospheric CO2 is caused by burning fossil fuels.
