  • Where is this? And aren't they supposed to put a sack over your head before they hang you?

  • @armychild10 This was at Wookey Hole caves and mill, and yes you are correct there would have been a hood over his head.

  • There's another one of these at Eden Camp, but its a guillotine.

  • Oh yeah who made this serial killers ??? and people would pay 25 cents to watch a plastic figure get hanged english style ?!?

  • @rawrzzz808 It costs 20 pence, think of the money you are saving.

  • Iv never been killed by a turtle in all my years of playing super mario

  • Heheh...The little stick guys are so cute

  • I want my 42 seconds back.

  • @mooseasaurusrex shut it!! that was great!!!

  • That would look like fun pulling the gallows lever, would have loved to be a hangman, eye for a eye, maybe there could be a job coming up in Singapore that i can apply for.

  • is this in the London Doungen

  • @sveniist1 no, Wookey Hole.

  • I remember seeing one of these on Weston Super Mare Pier, in about the early 1960's. They had a series of them, English, Spanish, and others. An ideal day to spend a wet summer day!

  • @JimTLonW6 I have lots of happy memories from the pier in the early 70's .I used to put coins in all of those executions haunted house and fortune tellers,I don't remember a Spanish one though. They had a Chinese ,French,American,English and one called Execution of Crippen.BTW this could be the actual one from the pier as Wookey Hole is not far away.

  • I have a book called Night by Elie Weisel about his experiences in a concentration camp. He wrote the prisoners once had to watch the hanging of a young boy of thirteen. He was so light it took him 30 minutes to die.

  • @bananasplitsable that is so fucking sad. i am jewish my self and find these stories terrible!

  • @zestfultuba Some of us are very wicked.

  • Let's not forget how many people these criminals killed. I personally believe in an eye for an eye.

  • nazigassings _ com HamburgVictims.html

  • @bananasplitsable

"An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind".

    Gandhi

  • @sormu16 Well if most or all of my family were murdered, forgiveness wouldn't come into it.

  • @bananasplitsable i believe in two eyes for an eye

  • That's disturbing, especially that Ribbentrop bit. Twenty minutes before he died. Dx

  • One of the gruesome executions I know is Idaho the place is know currently haunted as proved by Zak Bagons Raymond Snowden was hung they say executioners measured the rope to make sure the neck will break after the trapdoor was opened where doctors awaited his death he was executed cos he stabbed a girl 36 times!

  • HAHAHA where do I find me one of those macabre slot machines.

  • The actual hanging of Amon Gothe is on video on the net, I've seen it several times, (the full vid is not on YouTube though). It took 3 tries before they got it to work. (Amon Gothe was the Kommandant of Plaszow camp in Poland, depicted in the movie Schindler's List)

  • Albert Pierepoint was the best hangman, once from entering the condemed cell and pulling the lever took just 7 seconds.

Marwood invented the long drop method

  • @otterman3: In a perverted way, Pierrepoint was excellent indeed, and very efficient, too. He never botched an execution by pulling a delinquent's head off (rope too long) or by leaving him suffocating to death (rope too short), and he always made the execution an orderly process, carried out quickly but not in a rush or hurry.

  • pull me leg

  • This "hanging machine" is a dark riot.

  • HEY! Where can I get one!!??

  • Err, i'd rather have a lethal injection than be hanged like that.

  • @TheSchemer1: Lethal injections might look a lot more peaceful but it should be noted that the chemicals they inject take up to 45 minutes before the delinquent has finally had it. And it isn't necessarily painless either, it's just that the delinquent is unable to express pain due to a heavy dose of barbiturate.

I'd prefer to be hanged or beheaded (guillotine) if I were in a position in which I had to make such an unfortunate choice. It's quicker and practically painless if done properly.

  • @HappyDay989 I have heard reports about long agonising paralysis from the injections. It's an attempt to sanitise the process, look your prisoner in the eye if you have to do it,that's what I think.Hanging when done right is very quick.

  • @mesmoland: What certainly speaks against the guillotine is that somebody has to hold the delinquent's head up for the crowd to see, shout "Vive la republique" and clean up the mess afterwards. Even if we leave out the part with the head and the shouting, I wouldn't want to be the one who has to hose away all the blood and put somebody in a coffin who's just lost their head. ;-)

  • @HappyDay989 The guillotine definitely pre-dated the germ therory of disease, that is certain...

  • @HappyDay989 Machines like the guillotine were in use long before the French revolution. Look up the 'Halifax Gibbet' or the 'Scottish Maiden'. The French design had a tilting plank upon which the victim lay, and a box alongside which the body could be dropped into. There's no 'holding up the head' in the 1939 film of Eugen Weidmann's exection. It's all over in seconds, with the body boxed and the head bagged. Ironically though, the Nazi's guillotined a lot more people than the French ever did.

  • @cameraguy38 : I had been quite aware of what you wrote, but thank you for the history lesson anyway. ;-)

  • 金使い過ぎ

  • @oioisover それを取ることができません。

  • Not the loveliest way to go...

  • @IceCreamBananaBaby quick when it's done right though.

  • @IceCreamBananaBaby The Brits were meticulous in the 20th Century in making sure ( 95% of the time), that it was as quick and painless as possible. Often the rope would stop dead straight, and the body wouldn't swing. They'd give it an hour, then cut it down.

  • what a scary toy lol
