  • Thx Mikey. I was looking to make a different kind of afghan and I happened to this tutorial. Its different then anything I ever made and most of all its easy. I have some unique colors in mind and I'm excited to start it.

  • With the exception of the white bands, this looks like the MacArthur tartan!

  • mikey, please tell me how much yarn of each color went into this blanket.....I must know, so I can make one of these for the Highland Games next year....:begs shamelessly:

  • I wonder if doing this on afghan stitch would be even remotely possible....hmmmm...

  • And carefully check the "sett" or pattern of stripes of a given tartan.

  • thanks for this upload!!

  • When I make my first row, will there be a shrink factor or can I assume that that's about how long the blanket will be?

  • Love the look of this. I'm going to give this a try on a smaller scale...maybe a wide scarf.

  • To clarify, if my blanket is 200 chains wide, would it be 200 rows long? Or can I pull out a ruler and measure to see if the length and the width is the same making a square?

  • @fiercenfocused Chain and stitch heights are not equal in height... You will need to measure the width and do a few rows of double crochet to see how high they are... that will judge how many rows you can make to equal a square.

  • To complete this blanket, you have to do the same thing vertically as you have done horizontally. Does that mean that my afghan has to be the same length and width? In other words? Do you have to make a perfect square?

  • there are pretty long weaving needles for that, nice to do and looks very beautifull

  • Can you do a border around the afghan versus having fringe at the ends? I'm not a big fan of fringe.

  • @fiercenfocused of coarse you can just tie off any fringe at the ends of your rows and go over the knots with a border not only does that give you the desired look you are wanting but also it will secure the knots left from the fringe......hope this help....cathy@ mikeys helpdesk :)

  • When double crocheting and you reach the end of the row, how many chains do you 'chain up' in order to eliminate the uneven row or the pattern buckling at the end?

  • @fiercenfocused for a dc you want to chain up three.....cathy @ mikeys helpdesk :)

  • tfs Mikey :)

  • looks lovely :)

  • so all this is ?is weaving wool between the stiches and double crochet

  • thank you Mikey , you teach me a lot every time I watch your videos , I thought that I am good but now I see you are the best ,thank you very much

  • i love you mikey!!!!

  • hello Mikey, i love ur videos, i keep watching them all the time, u teach me new things all the time. keep it up Mikey. and by the way what type of yarn u used for this blanket? it looks nice. Thanks a lot.

  • why does the camera zoom in and out so many times in the intro?

  • Great work ! a slightly different way of doing it than mine, but still you made a very nice blanket ! Good work Mickey :)

  • That blanket is beautiful!

  • always thought it was hard thanks Mikey

  • You never said what you do with the ends that are hanging.. Do you just sew them in later???

  • @trishalynn0708 Trim them nicely about 1 - 2" long and leave hanging off... I forgot to mention that for sure... sorry about that

  • Awesome!!!
