  • You make a very good display. I admired. There were many good ottoman painters Osman Hamdi bey my favorite.

    But unfortunatelly the world know ottoman with their covered vision by orientalist fantasies.

  • The final five decades of Ottoman rule (1873-1923), although a time of serious economic and political decline, was also an age of great artistic achievement. During this period new literary journals popularized novels, plays, and poems; painters exhibited large works in the impressionist style in İstanbuls new galleries; and musicians composed original works that blended European and traditional Turkish scales.

  • From the 14th through the 16th centuries, the Ottoman Empire was a major center for Islamic art (Islamic Art and Architecture). The architecture, calligraphy, ceramics, and painting preserved from this period are among the classic examples of Islamic art. Modern Turkish art began to emerge in the 19th century as local artists began to experiment with, and adapt, methods and styles being developed in central and western Europe.
