my guess is you take I-95. Emporia, VA is a speed trap city. I live in NC on the other side of Charlotte and I have family in Suffolk, VA and east and I pass through that city every trip. Cruise control 5 under the speed limit for me, thank you.

On your way back up, (it's a toll bridge/tunnel, but imho it's worth it) I recomend detouring to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. From I-95, it's US 58 (Emporia) East through Chesapeake & Portsmouth. (You'll hit I-664/I-264 and take US 13 (N) off that)
