To avoid the disruption in communication I think ash makes a sensible decison to amalgamate a different accent into hers. More importantly, I must point out some people pick up on accents far more better than others, its a knack that I find many other Indians don't have. There are 2 Aishes: the regular person (we see that here!) & the media product. Her career requires her to project an image of air-brushed perfection. Bollywood/Hollywood both do this to actresses who play 'beautiful girl' roles. Her career depends more on her maintaining this image than it does on actual acting talent.
