My step-grandfather always got demos for the old PS2's all those years ago because he was a video game tester, and this was one of them. My cousins and I (who are very close) used to play this, and we'd press the buttons AND dance and sing at the same time. We'd have competitions with all sorts of games. Whoever won was the King or Queen of the day.

My sister ended up getting this game years ago and I used to play it with her before she got anoying as hell, one of the settings is using a dance pad like with dance dance revolution. Just something to randomly mention.

Britney's team are legendary for being very controlled with her image. The wouldn't allow Britney as a playable character because they didn't want anyone dancing "badly" with her or getting a BAD dance score as Britney. This way Britney is the perfect dancer and never makes a mistake.

@maestraretirada Nope :( The game is about auditioning for her, so you have to play as the made-up characters. I think they should have added Britney as a secret character. But I have maxed out the points and finished the story with every character and unlocked everything and there doesn't seem to be a way to get her. Not even secret codes.

This game is actually made with the Dance Summit 2001 engine :) I think Bust a Groove has better variety and stuff (especially BaG2) but I think the BDB engine is a lot more solid/fun :)

They won't make another one :\ Plenty of people like it though. I like it.

You can get it from used game shops if you're lucky. And of course there is the option to buy it online like from amazon, ebay, etc. I got mine from Target or something when it was new.

It's a rhythm game for PS2. There are only 5 songs to dance to, though. You can play with a controller or a foot dance pad by changing the control options to work better for dance pad. You choose one of 6 characters and play through a series of 10 auditions to dance for Britney and then get to play the final 11 audition if you do well.
