Not at all. There are only so many patterns the squares fly at you with, then there are various combinations of those patterns that can occur at the same. If you learn to read what pattern or combination you're dealing with or going to be dealing with based on the arrows at the screen sides, then you can anticipate the next pattern or combination in the random sequence.
