I drive a Wrecker in San Antonio Texas and see the effects of drunk drivers on a daily basis.drunks should be treated s violent offenders because if they are under the influence, they are a threat to themselves and others. And sadly, if and when they do wreck, its not them that gets hurt, its the family that that drunk runs into. Drunk drivers are a threat.plain and simple

@weeziteer Police cannot just search your vehicle for no reason. They must have a probable cause. The man was driving drunk and it gave the police officer a cause for search and seizure. A lot of them may take advantage of this though, but in this case it was justified.

Doing 56 in a 55 is enough to get you pulled over and a ticket if you want to be technical about it. As for the government installing Breathalyzers in every vehicle manufactured, well that's just plain stupid. Who's going to absorb the cost of that, you? Who's going to pay for the maintenance and upkeep of it, you? I sure as hell am not going to incur that expense when I don't even drink. Just don't drive drunk, dumbass!

DUI arrests are about making money not about protecting citizens. If our government REALLY wanted to stop drinking and driving, breathalyzers would be installed in every vehicle, and drivers would have to blow clean in order to start their cars.

And yes, pulling someone over for doing 65 in a 55 is laughable. These cops are trying to fill a quota.

And yes, it might cost money to install breathalyzers, but you might also take a moment to consider how much it costs to arrest, prosecute, and jail non-violent people for drinking and driving. Prevention is better than punishment, and throwing people in jail is not prevention. Perhaps you should do your own research.
