  • thanks for your sharing, good enough to know what's your feelings & the experience that U gained throughout the trip. Also, I have better idea of how's it look alike.

  • dude...i'm going next week. u just scared the shit out of me. hope my breathing won't be as bad. x.X may lord forgive my sins.

  • Nice one buddy. Thanks for sharing your experiences

  • Nice video. I climbed in aug 2010 but will go back again as I did not conquer the low peak :-).

  • I'm going all alone as my climbing partner can't make it. What are my chances of finding a stranger up there who'd be willing to take photos for me? Or can a guide follow me?

  • @paraconti

    g'day mate.

There are plenty of people climbing the mountain with you. And i think every group has a guide with them. you won't have a problem finding someone to take a photo for you...have fun.

  • If you have trouble with the altitude you need to acclimatize before you go up. hang out at 1500 m for a couple of days before and you will enjoy yourself on summit day.

  • go up and down in one day like we did, you get the whole summitt to yourself no other tourists!

and it costs a fraction of the price.

    Things to to take:

    -light rucksack

    -4 litres of water

    -hoody

    -good trainers

    -sweets and snacks for energy

    -and torch!

  • You were unlucky as it rained.

  • Is it suitable the weather that we go on JUNE? I'm going on June, and at the same time I'm scared of any rainings, or storms.

  • g'day winniebeck

i'm not too sure about the weather over there at mt Kinabalu but i hear that June is the dry season over there. For your sack i really hope that it is dry season when you are there. Don't forget your camera!!

  • are all the hiking equipments provided or you have to get yourself one?

  • Hi.

unfortunately you have to provide your own gear. If you haven't done any mountain climbing before then i recommend you get some sort of hiking stick to help take the pressure off your knees on the way down. Carry plenty of water or if your brave enough buy those water purifying tablets cos there are rain water tanks along the way.

  • What software did you use to edit those photos of yours? and btw i like your video so much can't wait to go. !!!!!

  • G'day mate.

i used power director 7 to put this video together.

i actually learnt how to use it through you tube tutorials :). it's quite easy to use. i also used power director 7 to do the slide shows within the video. have fun in KK and don't forget your camera!

  • Insightful!

  • hi.. (channelhqn) did u guys train before climbing the montain?

  • we actually did do some "training" by taking long walks with backpacks on. I don't think it really helped but it's always good to go for a walk right? Anyway you can get your guide to carry your bags for you. i don't think training is necessary. i recommend getting those walking sticks though.:)

  • thanks bro, i really appriciate with your advice n your video,im going next year in march... :)

  • ooh i did the climb in december last year, it was amazing, you have to be pretty fit to get to the accommodation, the last part of the climb (in the morning) is hard, though worth it. I'm considering climbing Kilimanjara in the future, but it's probably heaps harder.

  • GOOD EDITING...A+

  • im gonna be there in july!!!! tnx for the preview!!! im from the PHILIPPINES

  • goin in may lolx....so...how can we do to breath easier at the top??

  • i wish i knew.....i heard chewing on cocoa leaves helps or maybe bring an oxygen tank up with you!

Remember to bring plenty of water with you to keep hydrated. i brought 4 litres up and refilled it at Laban Rata (the place where you get to rest and sleep). Or you can bring some water purifying tablets and drink the water thats available along the way. Good luck and have fun :)

  • ooo thx...lol and what i heard from my friend was...."Breath in deeeeep breaths and then hold your breath and walk up and then when u have no more air, breath in again" lolx

  • How was it?

  • The actual climb up itself is not very hard, however the air gets really thin and makes it hard to breathe near the top. It's really the way down that gives people the most trouble, so just take it nice and slow and your knees will thank you if you use a walking stick.

  • Is it eassy to climb?

  • It's always been my dream to go there..

  • Yeah its a beautiful place there.... i highly recommend it to everyone. A truly great experience. :)
