The Shuttle's an amazing machine, but it's a 1970s design and it's just time for it to retire. Once Orion is up and running, we can look at a newer, better spaceplane design. It will become necessary to have a reuseable spacecraft.

But I'll miss her!

I hope it wont retire too soon; I want to see this baby fly. Just have to get to Florida from Sydney Australia one day.

I just think to myself, my god what an amazing piece of engineering, even if it is old design.

I think in the future perhaps a scram jet may be used, seems more cost effective and just as fast I think.

Still the current Shuttle is bloody amazing.
