Yeah, them Dodges (like mine) got power like no other! And I don't even got a diesel. The only people who don't like 'em are the global warming and peak oil crybabies.
Perry, 2012! Texas has got a lot more oil after they pull them damned enviro-regs.
@jan585 Thats the problem with those newer Dodge and Chevy's.. you lift it 6-8" and your still stuck with only being able to fit 35's tops on it.. you gotta go about 10" lift + to fit anything more if you plan on doing any flexing with it.
@americans4integrity Well, yah.... you don't tow running vehicles without using the power of both. If that's a Cummins RAM, it actually is the power of the truck pulling that rig free, regardless of the rig's own power. That RAM would be putting out 650 pound feet of torque, which is more than enough to pull a semi with a small load like that little house. ;)
That rig didnt look stuck at all...Did seem that he needed some more power or more traction, both probably would of helped. And of course all the "my trucks better than your truck" crap has to start...If you all have better rigs than this....post em' so the rest of us can see them.
@kartir3 Sorry there kiddo they dont make a 6.6L Cummins. Its either a 5.9L 12 or 24 valve or a 6.7L. Learn what your talking about before you come on a vid like this and insult those of us that drive these beautiful machines haha
@cwarrior3 ahh sorry i cent really remember the engine sizes i've been in one but never really look at the diesel engines but i know alot about the 1500 considering i have one 2009 5.7 laramie
i seen everything from a toyota pull out a tractor. its really not that impressive. my bronco with a little 302 puled one out of the snow fully loaded. not that big of a deal
@CedrikTheManiac00 I personally use a cable taken off an aircraft carrier, you know the one, they stop the planes form falling off and dropping in the ocean, I think that's strong enough to pull almost anything and not break.
@darkprince6666 cest qui ton probleme ti con? tes trop retarder pour comprender...pauvre toe...how sad i can understand you in 3 language and you cant. told us who is really stupid and uneducated.... i speak 3 language so i can make mistake in english....while you are stuck with 1 language in a shitty country..i feel bad for you...trying to be smart when only thing you can speak is a porr english
@CedrikTheManiac00 lol, yes kid yes... stop arguing on somehting you clearly have no experience doing, cause the only exemple you can give is stupid, ive pulll dozen of truck with chains, not a single problem, check i got video of it, asshole, next my dad a trucker, i can get some chain who can handle a semi with a trailer being towed...seriously they can handle 50 000 pounds every square feet, stupid redneck.do you really think with your small brain that 2 truck weight more then 50k pounds? l
@CedrikTheManiac00 Well your a fucking retard then... There is a reason why they dont allow people to use chains in the oil patch and such jobs... i hope your pulling somebody out and your chains snaps and fucks the shit outa your truck... youd get wat you deserved.
thats some power but that semi rear end most likely was not stuck but the rear axles may have been off balance and the semi didint have lockers it happend to me before and thank god it had lockers
cummins was never ownd by ford by now you would know. cummins was made for semi first then dodge bought cummins about 15 years ago maby. and cummins have been around longer then any diesel engine
Your kinda close. The root of this rumor comes from Ford owning very little stock in Cummins back when Ford still sold Class 8 trucks. After they got out of the heavy truck market (picked up by Sterling truck of Diamler) they sold the stock. Dodge never owned Cummins. Whats kind of funny is Dodge is ultimately owned by Daimler AG who owns Detroit Diesel (as well as many others), one of the largest competitors of Cummins.
it is a 6.7 cummins but not a v8 it is an inline 6 cylinder, being an inline engine gives it massive torque, not sure how but it just does, i have a jeep cherokee with a 4.0 litre inline 6 and i can out torque any 4.0 3.9 or 4.3 stock v6 out there, bottom line, i may not make the horsepower they do but i definitely make more torque which in pulling torque is where it counts... thank you for your time... p.s. i love cake
thats where the whole torque and horsepower factor comes in there bud...have u ever seen the stronge man championships....they have pulled fuckin fire trucks...how couldnt a 6.7 V8 deisle not do that?
the thing is the dodge should have spun its wheels at least once its a matter of friction you could have all the horse power in the world and no friction and the horse power would be useless
to end this now the dodge didn' t pull the truck alone the stuck truck also aided in the unstucking i mean if you get a car stuck and some one pulls you out you sit in your car and spin your wheels to gain traction while they pull you out also in some cases you have to give it hell to get something unstuck you would know that if you have dealt with ice and snow
ummm if you know what the fuck ur doing u have the driver put the rig in neutral and steer...if you floor it to get traction odds are ur coming to take off like a bad out of hell and run in to the person helping u out moron...yeaaa great idea dip shit...i live in wisconsin and we know all about snow-bag
I love my dodge ram to death, but an s10 might have been able to do that too. BTW, those tires look funny on ur truck. Just sayin.

Chains are stronger. Simple. What to tow trucks use? chains
filthydirtyhooker 2 years ago
Chains aren't the best because there's no give in them, nothing to absorb shock loadings which means that it's too easy to damage either vehicle....
Contractor240 2 years ago 2
@Contractor240
During a proper pull there's no shock loads, just constant tension.
If they're going to jerk something out of, say, a mud hole, yes, tugging ropes are preferred.
